Hilton Panama

The Hilton Panama is located Avenida Balboa and overlooks the Panama Bay. We had gorgeous views from our room--get an oceanside room if possible. Avenida Balboa is a very busy street, but you can get to the Cinta Costera walking and biking path via a bridge over the street. Walking in the early morning and evening is recommended over walks during the middle of the day! The rooftop pool is lovely, also with beautiful views of the bay. And there's a huge gym, with just about anything a workout enthusiast could desire. The friendly, bilingual staff at the reception desk provided very efficient check-in upon our arrival, and they were able to answer any questions we had during our stay. The bell hops were always smiling and always greeted us. Our hotel room was large, modern, and well designed, with plenty of outlets. The housekeepers were very friendly, too, although cleaning seemed somewhat random. Most of the time they left coffee pods for the coffee maker, occasionally not. Most of the time toiletries were replaced, sometimes not. One day cleaning just didn't happen--our tip was still there when we returned to the hotel in the evening. Washcloths appeared for the first time on the last day of our stay! But we never felt particularly inconvenienced by any of this. We very much enjoyed the buffet breakfast in the hotel's Society Café. It has a wide selection of breakfast dishes, including wonderful fresh fruit, grilled veggies, omelets cooked on the spot, several hot dishes, oatmeal, rolls and breads, yogurt parfaits, juices, and excellent coffee. We visited Bar Blue twice and were well treated by the friendly bartenders, who were quite patient with our fractured Spanish. The hotel is within walking distance to several good restaurants; we went to nearby La Posta and La Pampa, which have very different menus, and we were very happy with both meals. We spent a week in the Hilton Panama and would do it again!

Hotel is in a good location. Uber or taxi rides to the canal etc are near and cheap. Large comfortable rooms. The pool is great. They play music and have bbqs at weekends. Be warned that it gets busy at the weekends as the locals come to join so you might find it difficult to find a sun lounger. Food at the restaurants was good. The gym is brilliant.

The stay was great in every which way. The only thing I could remotely think of as negative were the misunderstandings arising from the slight language barrier. These were however corrected with friendliness and grace.

Stayed at this Hilton Feb 1 - 5. Addis, the front desk rep, was very friendly and greeted me daily by name upon seeing me. Luis, the concierge was extremely helpful with recommendations. Jeffrey and Franklin (bell hops) always had service with a smile. The 2 Andres' in Security at the hotel entrance always made sure our guests felt welcome. The issues with hotel were that the hot water took over 15 minutes to come on in the shower. Sometimes, it never came on, so I had to use a friend's room. He had no issues with hot water in his room. The hotel was informed, but engineering never solved the problem.

We stayed at the executive level and therefore had acces to the executive lounge. They have a small breakfast buffet and serve snack from 6 to 8 pm. Rest of the day open to escape from the crowd. Large lobby area. Great view over thecPacific Ocean.

Nice and large room..with a taste of local ( rare for Hilton brand). Not really expensive but....personal not so efficient...a lot of talk few results. You are in Latin America but a program to be on top ? Why not

Nice large room with Balcony and great Ocean views...Diamond members also have access to executive lounge here with breakfast served 6 to 10 am and happy hour 6 to 8 pm. Great location right off Balboa Ave near many restaurants and Casino next door.

I love this hotel. I come here often. It is centrally located for everything I need to do in Panama City during the day. At night it is a short cab drive to Casco Viejo for food and entertainment. The Hotel Bar has the best view of the entrance to the Panama Canal I have ever experienced. The staff is amazing from the minute you drive up to the time you check out. My favorite are the housekeepers. Wonderful lady treated me as if I was in her home. She would not rest if she thought I was in need of anything. I will call her mom. The restaurants and cafes are superb. There is even a Ruth’s Chris Steakhouse on premise. The rooms are modern and amazing. I’ll be back, again and again.

Never had hot water in my room. Maintenance showed up and fiddled around but because the water was running for 10 - 15 mins it got warm and thus considered fixed. Front desk did not offer another room given the issue was not validated by maintenance staff.

I would have given this hotel a 5, if their quality of service more often was at the same level as their ”hard” standards of room and other facilities. The gym is also great, breakfast OK however not outstandig. Cleaning seems to often forget replacement towels, schampoo etc. Many rooms have a great view over the Panama bay.
