I travel to Panama City on a monthly basis and this is my hotel of choice for several reasons: centrally located, close to the office, and excellent customer attention by all staff members. I realize that the hotel is dated and renovations have been performed but with the excellent staff members, from the front desk to the parking attendants, it's always a pleasure to return to Panama City.
I stayed here for a conference and was moderately pleased with the service. Some rooms face the highway so it is a little noisy on mornings. Food (buffet) was good for me as I was more into vegetarian options and the salad bar was always well stocked. One downfall was that the WIFI did not work too well at the time but otherwise I'd say it was a good hotel for a short visit to Panama.
Spent 5 days in hotel, great service at reception desk very helpful provided info on trips, restaurants... gave us city map. Help us out with our transfer. Thank you Aivan, Luis for all the extra help, and the rest of the team good job Great food in restaurant, especially breakfast chef Gian Ortega makes the best omelet and always with a smile. Nice view from the room and spacious on the 8 floor with city view. 1 issue bathroom needs renovation.
I had overbooking problems in Panama and I stayed at the Crowne Plaza in Panama during 1 night only, however, the experience was very positive. The room and bathroom were very clean (important!), and the service was always caring, kind, friendly and efficient. Maybe the only problem we had was with the dinner: kitchen closes at 9pm so we had an "emergency dinner" including the leftovers...In any case I thank the staff for their effort in preparing us an extra dinner. If we are in Panama and need a hotel close to the Airport, this is a good place to go.
The hotel located in a downtown, the view from the window among all the Panama City's skyscrapers is stunning, nevertheless the pool side view is located close to the garbage yard so it is what see as a minus. Room service very kind and helpful, the meals are decent but lack a bit of diversity. The room was big and cozy with really comfortable bed, although the furniture looks a bit old in my opinion it should be replaced.
We are a couple in our seventies and unfortunately the day we arrived at the Crowne Plaza in Panama City my husband was taken into hospital with a serious virus and complications. I don't speak any Spanish whatsoever, but all the staff we met were so kind and helpful. Everyday they asked me how he was, they helped me in every way they could and went beyond the call of duty. I would particularly like to mention Miss Trejos and Aivan Gonzalez on the front desk. The hotel is in a good position in the city, our room was very comfortable and quiet and the food choice was good. I can certainly recommend it.
We are back for our 4th visit to the Crowne Plaza in Panama City. It seems to improve with each visit. They appear to be working on cleaning and renovating it. The breakfast buffet is always excellent. Lunch is very good as well. The wonderful and amazing Harold Martinez is still there giving incredible service and assistance. The hotel isn't perfect, but the staff always goes above and beyond.
Everyone at the hotel was nice and friendly. The hotel looks old and dated groom the outside, but il thought it might have been updated inside... not the case. I was in the executive floor, so I think it's a bit better than the rest. First bad sign, a dehumidifier in the middle of the corridor. Them my room, it smelled so bad! Humidity and mold...its the coast, so...maybe normal? Screws and some type of tape were on the bathroom counter, safe didn't work, but the worst was the cleanliness. Everything seemed dirty, from walls to light switches...i was grossed out. It was night in a foreign country so I spent the night, I thought maybe I was being too critical, but once I woke up there was no doubt I didn't feel comfortable. I checked out and went to Riu. I would not stay at the Crowne Plaza again...
On a recent business trip, I left my lap top in the van that brought me to the hotel. When I explained to the bellman what happened he took over right away and promised he would call me to give me an update. I was very worried since my presentation was on a flash drive which was also in the computer bag. Twenty minutes later I received a call that the van driver was in the lobby with my lap top. I was amazed at the take charge attitude shown by bellman Jose Gutietirz who called the car service and arranged for the bag to be returned. Luckily I had a phone number for the service, but Jose volunteered to review closed circuit TV footage at the front door of the hotel to get the license number of the van if we needed it. I cannot say enough about Jose and the empowered staff at this hotel. Jose's assistance was exceptional, especially since I was a foreign visitor and not fluent in the langauge.
