Convenient location. But it appears they are doing renovations while the property is still open, and the site is littered with discarded furniture, cardboard boxes in the hallways, etc. Also, the renovations seem to be pretty much slapping some lipstick on a fairly old building. So the bathroom has a new coat of paint and a fancy new shower curtain and shower head, but it's still a disappointing and bleak little room. Fridge couldn't keep bottled water cool. Microwave made a groaning noise. No safe for valuables (even though they tell you to put your valuables in the safe). Breakfast room is great if you want toast or a waffle, some weak coffee and an apple at one of 4 little tables. Few options for those watching carbs or gluten though. That said, if you just want a clean, no-frills place for one night, it's a good deal.

I've stayed here before and, sadly, this was my worst experience. They were renovating rooms so there were big boxes everywhere. I ended up over the pool area and the noise was distracting. There was no chair in the room the first night (but they rectified that the next day). The desk staff were all friendly, apologetic and helpful ... really good. I think it will be much better after the renovation is done. Generally this is a very good place to stay. Not luxurious but reasonabla and convenient.

I don’t think the AC was working, I would never stay here again

Nice hotel. His location is close to everything you want to see. I enjoyed to many times and I will be back soon.

I love these old school Palm Springs motels and happy to find one that is well maintained. The pool area still needs an update and the management should enforce some sort of policy for storage on the balconies, it's pretty obvious people live here and it's strange to be sitting by the pool looking at bikes being stored and underwear drying on the railings, but small price to pay for a clean comfortable room at these rates.

The hotel room was clean and I had a nice view from my balcony. Staff was friendly and helpful. The only suggestion I might have is for better water pressure from the shower head. I would stay here again

Had a great time even though I stayed only one day, room was very clean, bed was very comfortable and pool was great. I often read hotel reviews before booking and I see some negative ones here but after my stay came to realized some people are just too picky, you get what you pay for. Great staff and service

Management was very rude. Shower did not work and if you wanted to bathe you needed to use your heal or what ever you could find to fill the tub, unhealthy and unacceptable. When sitting on toilet, door would hit your knees if you didn't close it, which also blocked toilet paper dispenser. Pillows were so hard, they just were worthless. Both Ice machines were empty @ 6:30 A.M. yet parking lot was still full. And to top it all off, Air Conditioner rattled, unless you turned it off and then it got so stuffy you had to turn it back on. When I called to discuss said issues with Hotel Mgr. the next day after returning home, he was so nasty, it was just shocking.

This Hotel is a step up from the ones ending in a "6". The beds were clean and the rest of the room was ok. The showers are terrible. I dreaded going into it every day. The shower head has very little water flow and is at a height for small children. We complained, but after they fixed it, the shower was the same. Our party had 2 rooms, and the other room was the same as ours.

The hotel was worth the price, as it was clean and quiet. The pool and not tub were clean and without many visitors it was like having a private spa. Breakfast was adequate, mainly toast, cold cereals with apples and some pastry. Not a 5 star but not a one star either.

Not happy pool/jacuzzi closed without notification. Left message for manager, who still has not contacted me. BAD BUSINESS - no one takes responsibility.

The door to the room had no rubber at the bottom of it so bugs could come in and you wouldn't even know. The outlet by the sink was not screwed into the wall, so the wires were showing. Their was paint peeling in the bathroom, and their was mold in the shower. They don't have extra blankets, or extra pillows in the room. The pull handle to the patio door fell off in my hand when I went to open it up. There was a hole in the inside of the refrigerator door. The office doesn't have anyone in there if you want to checkout early, you have to call a room number for assistance, which I had to call both the room numbers on the sing five times before anyone answered it. The continental breakfast they offer isn't anything to write home about. Let's just say I wouldn't stay at this hotel even if someone paid me to.

I like this place, although it was disconcerting to come to the office to check in at about 4:30pm, and no staff to greet us for close to 10 minutes. No ice machines functional during the summertime, and staff stating "must be because of heat - try back in an hour", doesn't give me much confidence or belief they care much about their guests.

Great value for the money. Nice view of the mountain. Staff is very pleasant.

Breakfast was just okay. Nothing special. Room was good, no overall noise issues. Hot tub was not working.

I just checked out this motel with more than 15 bites from bedbug after staying just one night. The amenities was not bad, however I don't recommend to stay in this motel. I had bedbugs issue for couple of months so I know exactly how it is.

I was given a room with a closed-in patio, obstructed by a dilapidated fence (no views). Fridge was dirty and carpet looked like it was never vacuumed, with little bugs here and there. Breakfast was so-so.

ROYAL SUN INN IS A DIAMOND IN THE ROUGH!! I've stayed in 5 stars down to 1 star... My only 1 thing that truly is important is CLEAN Royal sun was that! The room was comfy & clean... Loved the balcony! Great for pre drinks before hitting the town for some partying lol the complementary breakfast bar was fine, it was enough before lunch. THE POOL WAS FASTASTIC! Clean & perfect place to get your golden glow on! Over all.. I would/ will stay here again! Thanks ROYAL SUN.. We were happy

Great hotel for the money. Wasn't looking for anything fancy or upscale. Just a place to stay for the night. Hotel met all my expectations :clean room, cheap price, ample parking and friendly staff. Located in a very good part of town very close to a lot of restaurants and stores. Would definitely stay here again. Pool looked clean but I did not go in. Wifi was provided but again did not use it.
