I'm visiting my daughter in Owenboro. I had not made reservations but they had rooms available. Staff was friendly. Hotel was clean and the beds were comfortable. The breakfast was excellent with a nice variety. Definitely would recommend.
Very nice hotel. Bed was super comfy. Great water pressure. Very clean room. Very friendly staff, Lakesha checked us in and was super friendly and helpful. Breakfast was good, well maintained, clean area and there were a lot of choices. Location was good for us. We had a great night sleep. Only problem we had was we didn't realize we were next to the pool, we were on the second floor. There were children playing in this pool, there was a lot of screaming from the children, which I understand but didn't want to have to listen to. So we went down and talk to Lakesha to get a different room that was not along the pool. Would stay here again.
We had a family emergency and had to stay in Owensboro. I was impressed with this hotel. Other hotels I checked didn't offer free breakfast so I booked this hote because they did include breakfast. The breakfast was really good and they offered more options than most hotels I've stayed at. The young brunette girl who worked in this area was very pleasant. She made sure everyone had what they needed and made sure food never ran out. I never seen her stop, very good employee. Check in was easy and the hotel had a cute retro but modern look. Our room was clean and pleasant. The blue walls in the room gave it a better feel than many hotels. Very pleasant stay and would recommend.
This hotel has huge lobby with lots of separate seating areas and plenty of TVs. Nothing like I’ve seen before at a Fairfield Inn. Reception was fine and I was placed in a nicer room after asking for such (lifetime platinum). That room was unusual in that it had a bar area that was separated from the rest of the room by a long, granite topped counter/pony wall. The counter was great for placing stuff and the area between the counter and the wall held the microwave and refrigerator. There was no sink but the design was appealing. I did have concerns that I would run into the end of the pony wall during nighttime trips but that never happened. I did use the night light I travel with to ensure sufficient light so that I could ensure I avoided the end of the counter/wall. The room also had a comfortable love seat on the other side of the bed. The opposite wall held the desk and TV (in normal hotel room layout fashion. The room was nice and long (needed to accommodate the bar area, bed and love seat). The bed was very comfortable and the linens soft. The AC worked great and we were very comfortable. I would have preferred a bath tub (the room only had a shower) but the shower was fine, with decent water pressure, and the water got nice and hot quickly. Breakfast was normal for the brand. I liked the OJ and the coffee was decent. I’d have liked brown sugar instead of the raw sugar the provided for the oatmeal. I did not have the eggs or ham slices that were offered as hot items. As many Fairfield’s now offer, there was Chobani greek style yogurt, which is a personal favorite. There are plenty of places to eat within walking distance - Wendy’s, McDonalds, Taco Bell, Denny’s, Panera….and others. All in all this was a very nice stay and I would stay here again without hesitation.
Owensboro was as close as I could get to totality for the solar eclipse. This hotel was quite accommodating. Even though the hotel was "packed" due to the eclipse, the room was very quiet. The breakfast bar was outstanding. The Breakfast staff was extremely friendly and accommodating despite the high number of visitors that day. The only downside of the stay was the indoor pool. It was extremely small and could not accommodate the number of persons trying to use it. The hot tub has been filled in with concrete and eliminated. Aslong as you are not interested in a relaxing swim with the kids or a soak in the hot tub, this is the place for a good night's sleep and a good breakfast.
Nice place to stay if you are in Owensboro, KY. We were there twice in August. It is not in the center of town, but just outside near the interstate. Lots of places to eat or stay nearby. The place was clean, the staff friendly, and I did sleep well. Will return.
I'm torn between three and two stars, but perhaps two will get the point across better: The Fairfield is a depressing, drab hotel badly in need of a makeover. And I don't mean the lobby, which evidently has had some money invested recently to make it appealing looking. But my room (allegedly an upgraded room, which I had to ask for even though I'm Marriott Gold - I still don't understand why I have to ask) was something you'd expect from a $40 budget lodging, with stained, old furniture and--God knows why--a huge, ugly slab of Formica atop something resembling a kitchen island off to one side of the bed. This bar separated the bed from the faucet and refrigerator. It's as though they decided, in 1975?, to start a full-on suite such as in a Residence Inn, and then forgot about it half way through the construction. The wood paneling underneath the Formica bar was bubbling up (bad adhesive?) and there were other anomalies, such as stains on the bed's headboard, a badly scratched luggage stand, and a bed that tilted about 20 degrees to one side. I'm not kidding. On the night when we arrived that the parking lot was absolutely full. I mean more than 100%. And there were random people sitting and talking in the lot, some sitting on lawn chairs in front of their parking spaces. Why? I have no idea. The result was that we were parked quite far from the hotel entrance, and had to vault over what looked like a large, wide storm drain which surrounds the hotel. I'm handicapped, so this was not easy. All in all, not a hotel I can recommend.
Amy Lee was the breakfast host and she was wonderful. She ensured everything was clean and kept the food coming even though we were with a bus load of people. Room was as expected. Ice was hard to find since the sign had been removed from our floor.
We booked 2 rooms for an over night stay 8/11/17. The rooms were spacious and the bed comfy. There was a mini refrigerator and a microwave in each room. Both rooms and a overwhelming odor (similar to cigarette smoke$ that bothered our allergies. The breakfast TJ he next morning was excellent, offered a great variety, and offered plenty of seating.
My son and I stayed here for a 3 day business trip. Expecting to soak in the hot tub (as pictured on website) after a long day of meetings,we were very disappointed to see the pictures were WRONG...no hot tub...we were advised it had been removed 3 months previous.Deceptive and disappointing in my eyes...should have updated pics on website.Room was "upgraded" because of overbooking. One king and fold out couch bed is not really an upgrade in my eyes.Room was clean and breakfast was great and well maintained.
