We went to vist with my wife's granddaughter and her new husband. It was a good visit and Kayla liked me so that was worth it. I was not to happy with the location of the room nor the fact that the door leading to the parking area was not secure.
You can tell the managers and staff take pride in this property. It is very clean, they are concerned with updates and comfort. The entire staff is welcoming. A very convenient and safe location. This was our 2nd time to stay in this hotel. We will return again! It is obvious they have been through some renovations...but the staff still keeps it very clean. GREAT pool area! Very clean hot tub! Breakfast is awesome! REAL eggs! In the rooms...microwave, refrigerator, complimentary water AND popcorn!!!!
Clean and Comfortable! Our room was very roomy. The breakfast is one of the best I have ever been too. Great Variety and I love that it went until 10 am and didn't end at 8 am like a lot of others do. You don't have to worry about getting up early just to have breakfast if you wanted to sleep in. I went with my best friend for a show and upon check in the Manager on duty even changed our room to one without an adjoining door. This spoke volumes to me that they care enough about the safety of their guests. I would definitely stay here again!
I was n a different town and I got to this hotel around 4 AM, my wife and kids were already there.i laid down around 5 AM and kept getting itchy so I went to eat breakfast at 6 AM,returned to room and fell asleep for about 30 minutes. I woke up crawling with bed bugs. The maid and maintenance worker claimed they weren't bugs. They ignored all the bites on me and all the bugs on the mattress and floor. I was denied a refund and accused of bringing bugs to receive a refund. The staff I dealt with was rude and not very knowledgeable. Please buyers beware.
Clean, comfortable. Big rooms. Plenty of room for my two babies to crawl around. The breakfast was excellent and so much variety that both of my picky babies found enough that they liked to fill their bellies. Conveniently located. Lots of big fluffy pillows. Comfy beds. Loved the pool and the hot tub. Front desk nice and helpful. Will definitely stay there again.
This trip was for the National Softball Association World Series, and between Owensboro, KY and Evansville, IN 4500 softball players plus their families were expected. When we finally arrived to check in at about 8:00 Monday night there was no one at the desk to check us in, and there were 3 families waiting to check in at that time. I rang the bell on the desk, no one came to help us. I rang the bell a second time, still no one. Another mom rang the bell repeatedly and the gal who was working at the desk finally arrived, she had been outside smoking. Tuesday was rather uneventful but Wednesday got pretty exciting. There was a major storm, and imagine our surprise when it began raining in our room! It wasn't a small trickle, it was 2 steady streams of water that soaked through a stack of 5 towels folded in half. When my husband called the front desk, the person working literally said, "So do you need more towels." There was no sorry, no we'll send someone up to look at it, no offer to switch rooms, just more towels. Fortunately. we were able to use the dirty towels already in our room because housekeeping didn't fully service our room that day. At 4:30 pm the came by, swapped out the towels and emptied our trash cans. I know the hotel was at capacity, but they should have had more staff on hand. This wasn't a last minute tournament, we had to book our room months in advance. Not to mention the fact that we paid an inflated rate of $145/night, plus taxes and fees. The only reason I didn't give them 1 star is because the free hot breakfast was quite good.
It was a little further drive from Holiday World than expected, but totally worth it!!!! Very clean, comfortable rooms. The breakfast was amazing and the woman working it was working very hard and was extremely friendly.
Every year we drive out here and spend three-four days in Owensboro. Until now, we've kind of been hotel hopping - we've found no real reason to come back anywhere twice. Until this year. I honestly cannot think of anything wrong with the room, staff, or overall experience here. Staff members are amazing - from sweet lady who checked us in to the two super observant women working in the breakfast room to the ridiculously polite and speedy housekeeping crew. Seriously, you all are fabulous. The rooms are nice. I will admit, I walked into our room for the first time and was very confused by the weird sharp turn three-ish feet into the room. Then I realized that that was like a baby kitchen nook - sink, counter, little fridge. Super handy! Though, there was a microwave in room as well, it was just in the little TV/chest-of-drawers thing in bedroom area. It looked like the TV was just too big to be put where it was designed to go, so someone put the TV on top and microwave in the nook. This didn't matter at all to us, to be honest. We don't watch TV. We did get a crack out of the placement though. The only real issue we had was with lighting in the room. It got super dark in there super fast, even with this window open. Only complaint, and I'm fairly certain that I was the only on in our group that was bothered by it. The lobby is very modern and stylish, so kudos for that! My only real annoyance over the whole stay was the TVs on in the lobby and breakfast room. Keep in mind, we were staying around the time of the Baton Rouge shooting and the Dallas shooting. For fricks sake, do NOT play Fox News. Play something local or at least not glaringly pigheaded.
HUGE....Here for NSA World Series softball tournament, you think the room would be ready and clean. It wasn't. The girl "working" was walking around talking on her phone. There was three people in the lobby waiting to check in. Bathroom gross, soapdish dirty and obviously not cleaned. Sink and fridge had someone's left over water bottles and ice packs. Should have been a tad bit more prepared for this large event. Clean the place.
We come to Owensboro every year for a family reunion. Over the last five years we have stayed in four hotels as at each one we found a problem we didn't want to have to deal with again. We'll be coming back to Comfort Suites next year, as I can't think of a reason not to. Check in went smoothly, and off to our room we went. Walking into the room I was a little annoyed at the way the entry was laid out, until I saw the reason why. There was a small little kitchen-like area that stuck out slightly, with the fridge and a small sink right there. It would have been even better had they put in a small shelf for the microwave rather than tucking it under the TV. The beds were comfortable, the room was spacious and for once we had a table with two chairs rather than a big desk with only one. We're not business travelers, and I really don't think every hotel room should be built to please them. Fortunately this room wasn't. The people in the hotel are a great asset. They were all polite and helpful, and willing to go the extra mile to help out. Breakfast was good and hot, with plenty of variety from day to day. Pancakes, waffles, biscuits and gravy, eggs, and sausage or bacon were the hot choices from day to day. Toss in the pastries, muffins, cereal, and fruit and even my picky daughter found something she liked. I really can't think of anything to complain about, except perhaps the choice of programming on the public area TV's. Please, please, please find something besides Fox News! I could tell that even the employees were not liking it, but I'm guessing they didn't have a choice in the matter. Any time you enter a public area, be it the breakfast room or the sitting area in the lobby, you're assaulted by Fox News. Put on a local channel for Pete's sake!
