Avoid This Hotel – They Gave Away My Room and Left My Family Stranded at 3 AM
I booked a room at Orlando Palms Hotel through Orbitz for October 14–16, 2025. Due to a flight delay, I called the hotel around 8 PM on Oct 14 to let them know I’d be arriving late. The front desk confirmed that this would not be a problem.
However, when I arrived at the hotel at 3:00 AM with my wife and two young children, we were told that the hotel had run out of rooms — even though I had a confirmed, prepaid reservation and had called ahead. The front desk staff showed no empathy, refused to contact a manager, and would not provide their name or anything in writing. We were forced to find another hotel in the middle of the night.
To make matters worse, I recorded the incident and contacted Orbitz immediately. After days of back-and-forth, Orbitz informed me they couldn’t reach the hotel and therefore couldn’t process a refund — even though I have proof I was there and denied service.
This was one of the worst travel experiences I’ve ever had. The hotel was completely unprofessional, unresponsive, and indifferent to a family being turned away in the middle of the night. I would not recommend this property to anyone, and I hope this helps others avoid the same situation.
