Charming and historic atmosphere. Very friendly. Fantastic balcony view with breakfast. Will return. Great location.

Outstanding location. Lots of charm. Rooms have paper thin walls, you hear everything from the hallway and adjoining rooms. Tiny bathroom with poor water pressure. Continual breakfast was inedible, giant dry croissants. Weak coffee, processed o j. Train wakes you every time it goes by during the night. .

The balcony was great; the web site listed restaurant and bar; there was none on the property misrepresented

The property is quaint in a period building. Very pretty lobby. Staff is excellent. Room is basic but nice for the age of the building. Beware that this property is right next to the railroad station and you will definitely hear trains blasting their warning horns all night. Also the walls are thin in this building (it is older) so if you are next to noisy people it will make for an unpleasant stay (we left early). You should ask for a room street side to avoid being close to the train station and if you have a noisy neighbor call the front desk and ask for a room change.

The Hotel is unique and the location is excellent, parking is a bit of a challenge since this is downtown Winter Park, however there are parking spots behind the hotel for guests and there is a pay lot connected if those spaces are taken.

This is a very special place, with a level of luxury, character and personal service that transports you to an earlier era. I would have expected the rates to be much higher than they were. Really memorable.

Beautiful hotel. Great location. Wonderful staff. Excellent service.

Yes, the trains do pass by. But the historic nature of the building, the friendly and helpful staff and exposed brick wall in our room more than make up for those trains. The location is perfect for walking to many of the must-see stops in Winter Park, not to mention the nearness of the great restaurants and shopping! While the bath and rooms are not as spacious as modern bland hotel rooms, this is a charming place with a very cool old elevator. Warm croissants for breakfast delivered to the room are a plus.

Nice historic hotel. Continental breakfast delivered to your room, a plus.

A beautiful 100 year old hotel. Hubby and I had a great time. Was truly treated like VIP's. Staff was friendly, hotel was clean & beautiful, everything walking distance. Winter Park is beautiful with plenty of food and shopping. We will bring back the kids next time... We rode the Sunrail train (for fun) which is close but the noise did not bother us at all. We enjoyed a glass of wine on balcony in the evening. Also a complementary breakfast in the morning and when I walked out on balcony there was a saxophone player playing in the park, that was special too.

Wall are a bit thin, but this hotel had the most comfortable bed I've ever slept in. Restaurants are within walking distance, and staff very friendly as well.

great location is downtown...stay in room with a porch...great to sit and have a drink.

Location of the hotel in Winter Park is fantastic. It has a lot of charm, the staff is very nice... But a few musts are missing: no fridge in the room, no room service, one same choice of breakfast every morning (muffin + orange juice + coffee or tea)... Overall, you feel it's a bit too expensive (269-299 $/night for a king bed room), but you're paying the location, mostly.

Great old hotel .staff extremely friendly and helpful.

Lovely, vintage hotel with superb customer service and old world amenities. Great location, inexpensive parking and complimentary warm muffin and coffee served to your room--complete with a vase of fresh flowers. Lovely.

Greetings Anonymous, First of all I appreciate you taking the time to let me know about your stay. I will do my best to answer your concerns. I am thrilled that you loved the location, and the charm of the place. I agree we have a lot of that. On the other hand, I sincerely apologize for the noise issues you experienced. The hotel, having been built 100 years ago, is definitely not like our modern day big box hotels, and I agree that sound can travel between the rooms. Poor water pressure I don't really understand. We have a large commercial water heater, with a circulation pump, and literally never have complaints about the water. The little breakfast we serve is merely a starter to your day, and is intended to be just that. The coffee is french roast, and the OJ is "Simply Orange", which is a top Florida Brand. The Croissant are freshly made for us and delivered every morning. The train.......well yes you are correct on that one. The Hotel was actually built for the railroad workers back in the day, so we are indeed close to the little Winter Park Station. For your next visit, I would highly recommend the King Balcony Suites on the front of the Hotel, where for a little bit more money, you won't even notice the train. It's well worth it. Again thank you for writing about your experience, and I sincerely hope you give us another chance next time you are in the area! Pia Brenan, GM

Greetings Anonymous, We are very glad you enjoyed your stay. I sincerely apologize for the misunderstanding about the Restaurant and Bar. They are both currently under renovation, and will open in the New Year as a high end Steak House. For the moment we are surrounded by wonderful Restaurants literally steps from the Hotel, and we are always happy to pick up your order from the Restaurant across the street and bring it to your room. Don't hesitate to ask next time. We are always here to help. Pia Brenan, GM

Good Morning Anonymous, Your review was accurate and fair. We are so happy that you enjoyed the room, and were happy with the Staff. Noise can indeed be a factor in this century old, less insulated building. We respect that. Your advice to the public about requesting a King balcony room is absolutely correct. These rooms sit well away from the train and are more separated from each other, which makes for a much quieter stay. Also we appreciate your advice to always call the Front Desk if there is anything we can do to make your stay more pleasant. Hard for us to know that an issue exists if we are not told. We are always happy to accommodate to the best of our ability in order to ensure that your stay is seamless and enjoyable. Thanks again for staying with us! Pia Brenan, GM

Good Morning Anonymous, We thank you for your high marks, and are so happy that you enjoyed your stay. Thank you also for clarifying the parking situation for our future guests. It must be added that the parking lot behind the Hotel is a private pay lot, so unless you are utilizing our valet parking service (we have several spots in that lot that we have set aside for that), or want to be particularly close to the building, it is better to look for spots on the back streets behind the Hotel, where there is no charge. Thank you again for taking the time to review your stay. Sincerely, Pia Brenan, GM
