Upon arrival, we were made to feel special. Everything was spotless or well-maintained.Thanks especially to the maids who were so personable.

Great customer service. Amazing location. One of the best hotels in the area!

The restaurant has excellent food. This hotel has a friendly staff and the rooms overlook the ocean. Being lulled to sleep by the crashing waves is amazing!! What more can you ask for in Laguna Beach?

My husband and I live local and decided to take a midweek staycation for our 20 year anniversary. We paid for a King Sea view but we asked for an upgrade for our anniversary and they obliged and gave us an oceanfront room. They even sent us a small bottle of champagne and chocolates so it was very nice. The room view was absolutely gorgeous and it was nice and warm in the room when we entered. We had dinner at Splashes restaurant on site too. Room was very clean and all in all was a nice stay. A few things that I did not love is that the elevator is like a dinosaur and super slow and the second elevator was shut down so it took a long time to get on elevator and also I asked front desk to charge my card an extra $5 and get $5 cash for the valet and they couldn't do that I had to use an onsite ATM machine and pay to get money out which was kind of annoying. The other thing I thought was strange is to charge a $20 "resort fee" AND a $35 parking fee. Normally the resort fee covers parking so I thought this was a bit excessive.

Nice hotel, pricey, right on the sand, has ear plugs by the bed. That should tell you but didnt really bother us. Valet parking only or itll be street parking on a busy street. Nice rooms, bathtubs and separate shower. Toilet room door didnt shut all the way and doesnt have a fan. SHower and toilet is in the same room. Nice staff, clean. Expensive to eat there so find something else nearby.

My family had a good time in the pool and easy access to the beach was a plus

What a gem! Love the hotel, restaurant and service. On the beach. The Hotel also offers communication via text messaging with very prompt service.

Very nice hotel. View of the ocean is spectacular! Clean rooms. Nice staff. Only thing is no a/c. But the view of the ocean makes up for it. Will be back. Highly recommended.

Room was ocean view but only across shared balcony with people passing by constantly and workers doing construction and setting up a wedding right in front it our room! Zero privacy, had to keep shutters closed and never could enjoy ocean view. Walls are paper thin and we could hear everyone's conversations (and other activities!) as if they were in our own room. Ventilation was poor and bath products were very average for a supposed 5 star resort. We were also never told in advance when booking about resort and parking fees applied daily. On the beach, they provide chairs and umbrellas but the chairs are very small and are not chase lounge chairs that recline or fold down flat. The umbrellas are also small and old. This was the WORST beach vacation I have ever had!

The room was lovely overlooking the ocean. The bar staff was rude...the waiter ignore our continual request for a glass of water. Lunch in the dining room was uncomfortable due to two groups that were extremely loud and overbearing.

The hotel staff was very friendly and the location could not be better. However, we had some issues. First, we were given a room that was occupied and had to return to the front desk for a new room. Next, our new room felt like a sauna- extremely hot and this hotel has no air-conditioning! Even though we had opened all of the windows and used a fan, the room never cooled down. It was very uncomfortable and due to this reason alone I will not stay here again. While the views were amazing, the hotel itself desperately needs a remodel. The exterior of the hotel is very run-down and you can see its age in the details both in and outside of the rooms. Dinner was excellent at Splashes. The pool looked nice although it was closed for a private event during our stay (it would have been nice to know this before booking our stay).

My Mom was traveling from the UK to come and stay with me after her chemotherapy treatment, so I was looking for a special night away with an ocean view for her, my best girl friend and I to have a little get away as a treat. We arrived early and stored our luggage with the bell desk as our room wasn't quite ready. After a couple of cocktails and lunch poolside (Thank you Mitchell for taking excellent care of us!), our room was ready. Imagine my surprise when they gave us a 2 bedroom Penthouse suite at no extra charge!!! It was a stunning, 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom suite with a gorgeous dining and seating area. We cancelled our restaurant reservation and had dinner in our suite watching the waves crashing on the shore. An incredible evening, amazing room, exceptional staff and service. Thank you Surf & Sand for a truly memorable evening!

Loved the view that the room had! The room was also very light and was very clean! Downfall was that we came for our mini honeymoon and they didn't even leave a note saying Happy Honeymoon or anything. Most boutique hotels do that to differentiate themselves. Also they didn't have A/C in the room.

What a great place to stay. Everyone loved it. Right on the beach - like 50 feet from the ocean. Amazing view - both towards the beach and overlooking the pool. You can literally hear the waves in the night. Very comfortable stay. Great restaurant there as well. Valet parking is convenient (and I think it was free as well - can't remember). Wi-fi worked great. Overall, a great stay. Would definitely recommend to others and also stay there again during our next visit.

We have stayed at this hotel several times. The location is terrific and the service is good. The rooms are a little dated, but overall clean. During the summer the events such as movie night for the kids, and make your own tacos/burritos make it super fun for the kids. I would recommend it for families and couples.

Friendly staff, clean room, warm ocean breeze.....

As a resident of Laguna who has moved away we loved our stay at the S&S. We stayed in the second tower which was in our opinion much nicer than the main tower (much more private). Breakfast every morning was fantastic as well as drinks and appetizers in the upstairs lounge with live music.

We love the beach and the Surf and Sand's proximity to the beach was unbeatable! The room was beautiful with an awesome ocean view. This place had everything we need in a vacation: beach access, pool, beautiful ocean view, great food, and wonderful staff. On our last day we went to the Splashes Bar for some drinks and appetizers. The restaurant Bar had also an awesome view. Pamela was friendly and courteous and made us feel right at home. Love this place!

Amazing trip. Staff were fantastic. Valet service was superior.

Very pleasant time from valet to check-in to servers, to outdoor breakfast, location cannot be better, and the surf right in front of the hotel was excellent, just an added bonus listening to the pounding surf in the evening.
