Very beautiful location for a Sandals Resort in Barbados. Unfortunately there were a lot of downsides to this resort. All beach's on island are Public! So forget about just relaxing on the beach with no interference of people trying to sale you something. Also they are doing construction on 800 new rooms etc. False advertisement on the actual rooms themselves. No fancy anything in the rooms unless you spend every dime on the top dollar rooms. Pool area was small and crowded and not much to do during rain storms. Not wanting to say it was all bad, just highlighting a lot of the things that you should be aware of if visiting.
This was our first visit to a Sandals, or any all inclusive venue. Whilst the location and extent of facilities are excellent, and most of the staff are fantastic (especially Claire from the chophouse) we were left wondering about what happened on Monday morning, as several of the staff we met on that day were, quite simply, difficult! Our only other thoughts, on reflection, were whether the experience is truly a value for money option? We travel extensively; this was our fourth trip for 2017. We found the venue cost was higher than we would have paid for a separate accommodation/food package; the on site restaurants, whilst acceptable, were not providing food of the quality an external restaurant would present; and the included alcohol was generally from cheaper, lower quality brands, or was the lower end of the better brand names used. One final point is don't ever be more than 15 minutes late for a dinner reservation. It was our anniversary - which the venue was aware of - and we were delayed in getting to the restaurant. Our table had been reallocated! We were offered another seating time, but that was more than 2 hours later!
The hotel grounds were incredible! Great beach! The food was exceptional! Plenty of options. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. Swimming with the turtles is a lot of fun and highly recommended. The hotel is a short ride from the airport and pick up and drop off is extremely easy. Highly recommended!
We were looking for someplace warm to get away from the deep freeze. Wonderful island with warm friendly people.
