Clarion Resort Fontainebleau Hotel - Oceanfront

3.0 out of 5.0

Recent guest reviews

I stay at the Clarion each January for a retreat, it's a comfortable hotel with nice rooms and a friendly staff. The only issue is the service in the restaurant, which is generally very slow. In my experience the food quality and quantity (at dinner) is underwhelming.

Just normal hotel to stay night or two, nothing exciting, but neat. Pet friendly! Plenty of parking space, ocean is there but overall not in very walkable location. You will need to drive or take a cab to the boardwalk, and probably to anything else like groceries etc. We walked to one place - but walking was not fun - took about 15-20 minutes to get there.

Staff was mean taking too long for checking room is clean

Great location, nice view of beach, and nightly live band from 4 to 9pm every day at beach bar. Nice pool with poolside bar, and right on the beach.

The lobby was kind of a turn off- very outdated, but what do you really expect from a hotel in OC Maryland. For sure nicer than other hotels I have stayed at. Staff was very nice, they called me when my room was ready before 4pm. The rooms were actually a good size, and clean. The bathroom wasn't the nicest, but it was for sure clean. It was good for a weekend trip- and I would stay there again.

The Hotel is starting to show it's age, needs a major renovation,

Best buffet around. Outdoor Pool is ok, was closed 1 day of our stay due to weather. There is an indoor pool and sauna are not as nice. I had booked with an agency and paid them but the clarion also billed me as well. I could not get a person in accounting so I just put a stop payment on my credit card. Overall the amenities are good, but I feel they are not enough to support then number of guests.

The hotel location is good. Parking is split between two sides of the road, so you want to get there before all the spots are taken in the main lot. The room was large and comfortable. The beds were comfortable too. Bathroom was small but clean. The pool area left something to be desired. The biggest issue with the hotel is the elevator system. There are 3, and there are 16 floors... you can imagine how fun it is to catch one when checking out with bags (since lots of people check out around the same time), or trying to catch a non-full elevator to head down to the main level at any given time.

We booked this hotel at the last minute for a quick get away. The room wasn't ready when we arrived at 12noon on Sunday, but by 2:30pm we had the room. Overall, it was faster than I expected especially when at 5pm the lobby was packed with people waiting. Overall, the staff was friendly. Mostly the housekeeping staff - everyone we passed in the halls always said hello and asked how everything was. Rooms were clean, didn't use the amenities besides the beach, but it was a quick one night getaway.

Great hotel, staff was friendly, location was great and seafood buffet was awesome!

I came down and stayed for a lacrosse tournament. Hotel was average. Not bad - Not great....

Great hotel was able to book at the last minute. Close to the ocean, indoor/outdoor pools - store inside hotel and food/club place. Would stay there, whenever I return to OC.

Stayed there for 2 nights and would say that overall I had a good experience. Close to the beach, nice view for the room, good customer service.

A bit outdated but it has a really nice outdoor bar/patio. Would stay there again.

This property is dated and needs some major renovations and/or updating. The "décor" is circa "1975-ish." The elevators are extremely slow. Their idea of an "ocean view" is walking out on an approximately 2 foot triangular "balcony" and looking to the left (or right). The ice machine on my floor did not function. The sauna in the fitness center did not function. The property had a musty odor. Although this hotel does NOT rate 3 stars, it has great potential. It is way overpriced in its current condition!

EVERYTHING WAS GREAT AND THE STAFF WAS EXTREMELY HELPFULL AND CORTEOUS HAD GREAT TIME

Very nice place to stay.neat and clean. Good buffet. Seafood was great.

Stayed there 1 night as planned. Check in was fast and easy. Room was nice and clean. I got a room with a view, but it didn't face the ocean directly, Instead I had an angled balcony that let me see the water. The hotel is far enough away from the Ocean City Boardwalk to avoid big crowds, which I liked. This is much nicer than other Ocean City Hotels I've stayed at. Check out was quick and easy.

The buffet is incredible. Easy access to beach and pools. Good for kids

Room was dirty. Found garbage next to bed on floor and old towel. Food was not so good. Very plain. No real diversity. All three restaraunts had same menu But staff was great.
