A good hotel with clean and comfortable rooms. We had a triple room. My bed was separate from the two others - behind a wall. Nice option for three people traveling together. No air conditioning though. The hotel is 5 minutes walk from the old part of the city. The surrounding is not very pretty but it’s ok. Oh, breakfast is basic but very good! The staff at the reception is very friendly and nice. Thank you, guys! We are coming back in the future.
For anyone who has stayed in the Leonardo chain, this hotel was a disappointment. We were at the Vienna Leonardo of Austria and it really was very good. Here the building is dirty, the rooms are small, the bathroom tiny, to take a shower one has to do gymnastics, the bed is not comfortable the cushions very soft, really was a disappointment. There is one good thing, the breakfast was reasonable with good jams, hot food very good. But before the whole I think I will not go back to the Leonardo chain, because the standards of this hotel were very low.
The hotel is very close to the centre , walking 15 minutes , immaculately clean and very nice comfy room , beds really soft and clean . with a great breakfast and lovely kind staff always ready to help . Shops and supermarkets just around the corner and even the tram and underground 5 minutes away .
We have just returned from a great, five night stay at the Leonardo hotel. The location is brilliant, 10 minute walk into the city centre so great for all central sight seeing. Check in was quick, and we paid the extra when booking for a superior room which I’m glad we did. The room was spacious and so quiet! Sometimes felt like we were the only people in the hotel. Our only qualms would be the drains at certain times were quite smelly, the pillows were the most uncomfortable I’ve ever slept in and despite myself and my husband sharing a king size bed our duvets were 2 singles ones which we found very odd?! So nothing major, but small things like this would make a 4 star rating a 5 instead. Great hotel for a sightseeing few days
I enjoyed my stay here. The room was very comfortable, spacious, clean, with tea making facilities, which always makes it for me. Room over the entrance made it very noisy. Ok, so the view from room was of a building site, but I only used the room at night so wasn't bothered. Short walk to city centre and main railway station and underground. August was very hot and there was no air con, making sleep very difficult. We had to pay up front, unusual nowadays. Can't comment on food because I didn't eat there.
First imression on check in was poor... had to pay for 2 nights and brakfast at check in, before even seeing room... single room on 5th floor is small but cozy. Bad thing are balcony door that leads to balcony attached with other 3 rooms. I was lucky that my friends ware in those rooms, otherwise it wouldn't be comfort to me. Breakfast was great... but had missunderstanding with stuff that wanted to sign paper for breakfast payment (that I allready paid on chek in). But after short strange looks from staf, everything was ok. Breakfast is really more than ok, great. Also have available gluten free bread that you can gat on demand. Parking lot is small but aways had free space.
I went with my husband and my parents for 2 nights. We got rooms on the ground floor with a lovely view... OF THE PARKING LOT! It was so incredibly stuffy and hot in the room. Thankfully, you get the tiniest fan (no central AC nor heating) that doesn't work at all. Of course we couldn't open the windows, because people and cars were going by all the time. The room was NOT clean at all. The curtains and carpet smelled horrible, there were stains on the wall and the bed was full of hairs. The bathroom was disgusting. Also, the room was so small that I didn't even have a nightstand on my side of the bed. I had to use my suitcase. There wasn't room for anything. Also, the rooms were DARK. The hallway outside the room was dark, and scary. The staff was not friendly at all. The man that greeted us when we arrived was ok, but there was a lady who wouldn't even respond when we said hello. My husband asked her for directions to the subway and she didn't even look at him. The area where the hotel is in is horrible, I would not walk alone there at night.
We did stay stay in the Leonardo Hotel chains before and by far this was the worst from them all. Let's start with the positive, Friendly staff and nicely furnished clean rooms, good mattress to sleep. Free bottled water and sweets on arrival. We stayed 2 different nights in a span of 5 nights..first room on the first floor was acceptable but the 2nd room on the ground floor was horrible! The hotel is located a 17-20-mins walk away from Nürnberg Hbf and a 5- 10 minute walk from the charming Old town and 5mins walk away from the metro which has direct connection to the airport which is very convenient. Rooms are on the small side, especially the ground floor one. They were both stuffy and the fan wasn't enough ,worst at the ground floor room since it was back at the carpark/smoking area so we couldn't leave our window open. Ground floor room had a foul drains smell as well and when showering water was coming out from the floor. For sure for the price we paid there are much more decent enough options in the area. Also the area is a bit of a let down and at times at night might be uncomfortable to walk by! Also loads of construction going on in the surroundings so keep that in mind...if you want to return late at night or wake up late in the morning.
The hotel website is full of praise for the area it's situated in. What it fails to mention is that, whilst it's not far from some very nice places, the landscape around the hotel is positively post-apocalyptic, full of demolition sites, and generally a bit scary at night. The hotel itself is OK - clean, rooms a bit small. Oh, and incredibly stuffy - it was hotter in our room than it was outside. We had booked a twin room...there were two beds, but they had been pushed together, and when we pulled them apart, there was very little space, and only one bedside table and bedside light. They had free ice cream in reception when we arrived - nice idea, but it was only available in one flavour (which my companion was allergic to anyway) and it was never replenished.
The hotel is very good but it is an oasis in the neighborhood. You must know this before you go. On the other hand, inside the hotel the installation are getting nice and new. It is near the metro and it is about 1,5km from city centre.
