Lovely staff and comfortable beds. They understood english and helped where ever they could. Make sure you get a small hire car if you are driving as the entry and exit is VERY narrow. Great to be so close to the centre of town. Wish they had a pool or spa. Sauna and exercise bikes only. Loved the free coffee in the foyer.
We are very pleased with our choice. Plan was only one night but extended another night because we enjoy staying there. The staff at the sidewalk cafe, the restaurant, breakfast room and the bar. are friendly ...The receptionist (especially the night male receptionist who took our last minute reservation and helpful). Good parking facility, pet friendly and right in old town. Easy access to everything but at the same time quiet. If we come back to Nuremberg, we will definitely stay here again.
This is a modern, spacious and clean hotel in a great location in the city centre. The hotel rooms are comfortable and well furnished and the buffet breakfast is plentiful, varied and well cooked. Hotel staff in Reception and Restaurant are pleasant and helpful. Can highly recommend.
Everything in the hotel is clean. Upon check in, I told them I brought my 18month old and they sent someone up to the room right away to bring a crib. Staff is super friendly and very helpful. Breakfast had a lot of options. Vending machines for late night sweet tooth.
What a location! Within walking distance of the famous old town historical precent and shopping. In a quiet area a fantastic, 3 quiet nights of sleep. The bed was fabulous and many pillows(often a problem in European hotels).Air conditioned with a nice bathroom but if elderly its a shower you need to step into a tall bathtub to use.Try rooms away from front entrance even quieter.
We arrived for the Flea Market and Volksfest and could not have picked a more central location to both. The staff was incredibly helpful and gave us maps and directions. The bed was super comfortable and the price was well within our budget.
Very clean, nice and quiet hotel. The personal was very polite and helpful. Especially Marcos Garcia was a pleasant and friendly professional man. He made thru every wishes what we had. The service was perfect and nice. We certaintly are booking in this hotel when visit Nuernberg again.
We stayed three nights in this hotel and the air-conditioning did not work on any of the nights we were there. Even after they switched rooms, the next room was even hotter. On my second night there, I was up for most of the night because I was so hot. The staff didn't seem to care. They sent "somebody" to fix it, who knew as much about air-conditioning as I know about rocket science. On my final night, I just gave up. I had hoped since I was an IHG Platinum Reward member that they would make a special effort to resolve the situation, but they didn't seem to be bothered by this. This is the first time I have ever had a bad experience at a Holiday Inn. It was too bad, because we loved the room, but we were just so uncomfortable. Don't stay at this hotel. You were warned. If no air-conditioning doesn't bother you, and you are fine with being up most of the night because the room is so hot, well then, this is the place for you. If I could have given them a lower rating, I would have done that.
Certainly one of the better Holiday Inn (main brand) hotels in the chain. The hotel is at one end of the main shopping street. To get from the hotel to the Lorenz Cathedral and the main department stores took me 7 minutes to walk. The U bahn station is just around the corner from the hotel (my Maps programme said 500 metres, but it was much less) and Lorenz Cathedral is one stop away. Breakfast was very reasonable at 15 euros each, with unlimited coffee/tea and hot and cold buffet. There are cheaper alternatives in the local cafes, but when you add in drinks etc it soon adds up. A generous touch is the complimentary coffee and tea at the front door, Garage parking is 13 euros per day. Again, if you park overnight and leave your car there, saving on the price of city centre car parks this is very reasonable. We booked a superior room which was ideal for the overnight. Spacious and comfortable thanks to the climate control/ air conditioning. We suspect that a basic room might be a bit tight. The only negative is that this end of the old town is not the smartest end of town.
We had a family reunion in Nuremberg for 65 people in July, half from Germany, half from the US. We investigated a number of hotels for the group, and decided to stay at the Holiday Inn City Centre. We couldn’t have made a better choice! The location was central to Old Town, there was a parking garage, and it was close to the train station. The rooms were very clean and nicely appointed. The restaurant was wonderful – a large buffet type breakfast was provided each morning. And one night we had a private group dinner there as well – the food was traditional German. It was delicious and plentiful. And the staff was terrific, despite the fact that we stayed longer in the restaurant than was originally planned (our fault, due to the excitement of seeing relatives, making speeches, table-hopping, etc.). In fact, all of the staff at the hotel was terrific and very helpful, during the planning process and while we stayed at the hotel. One day it was raining and they supplied us with a number of umbrellas. They also gave us general space where we could gather. We definitely recommend this hotel very highly and would stay here again without hesitation.
