I really do not like hotels. This one did make my stay very welcoming. Carter at the front desk was a big reason for this. Whatever training he has received you should make sure all employees received. Polite, informative about the surrounding areas, professional. Well worth the stay.
Had a 2 bedroom suite with private baths for each room. Full kitchen with necessary accoutrements to cook in, as well as dining table for four. Very comfortable sitting area w/ sofa, chair and fireplace. Nice covered/open patio area w/ communal grill for use by all. Weight room and pool all very nice. Personnel were outstanding. Very accommodating. Although it was a business trip, I have numerous friends in the area, so I bought crabs at Maine Ave docks in DC and with the personnel's approval, invited 8 - 10 friends over and had a crab feast on the patio. Despite my small crowd, there was ample room for other visitors use the grilling and patio facilities and to have their own dining tables. All in all, a very pleasant experience.
I first would like to commend the staff at the hotel. Some of the hardest working front desk and kitchen staff I've seen at a Marriott Residence Inn property. The front desk staff greeted you with pleasantries the entire stay. Very outgoing and knowledgeable of the area. This property did not have coffee out all day like some of the other properties which was a little disappointing. The rooms were a little dated. Our bathroom cabinets were old, and our toilet ran sporadically ( Disclaimer: I did not contact front desk, it was not a big deal for me). The pots in room were not cleaned well, they needed scrubbing with a pad or sponge. Housekeeping was hit or miss. Sometimes they would come back if you put the later sign on your door and sometimes they did not. We stayed six days and on two occassions they did not clean my room. Also, one day they cleaned and only left one face towel for 3 people staying in a room. The breakfast was the same as other properties. The breakfast area was dirty daily. Counters had lots of drippings on the counters, and the tables weren't cleaned immediately. There was only one person usually working with a pretty full hotel, and they always appeared to be overworked with not enough hands which was likely the reason for the dirty breakfast service station area. The reception was nice each evening, with satisfactory food and beverages. It was a very nice property all in all. Clean, well kept, inside and out. The pool area was nice, the pool was a decent size, and the property has a jaccuzi. I would definitely stay again, but if you've been to other properties with lots of freebies (like coffee and water), lower your standards. There are lots of stores and restaurants within walking distance. Lots of shopping and attractions nearby, and DC attractions are about 25-40 minutes (on a good day with light traffic jams on I-95). It's a nice place to sleep and take care all of your needs. Good for family, couples, and business. Place is pet friendly..........I saw lots of pets. If you don't like animals, you may not want to stay here.
We stayed here during a family reunion trip, and were very happy with our stay. The staff was very helpful and friendly. The pool is small, but the kids had fun playing in the pool and were usually the only kids in there so they had the run of the place. The breakfast was good, the only thing missing is that we would have liked more fruit. The kids loved making their own waffles. The hotel is very convenient to I95, and there's a Target very close in case you forget any necessities. They're a little short on parking at the hotel, but they offered overflow parking at the shopping area next door. Slightly inconvenient, but not a huge deal.
You can bring you pets to this hotel for a fee. The rooms are very comfortable and quiet. The morning breakfast is good with a good selection of hot items, fruit and breads / rolls. Located within The Potomac Mills Shopping center with many stores within walking distance.
after a mishap with my reservation (thank you Anthony for fixing it!!), we checked in on a Sunday. i was the 2nd person in line and people kept walking up to the only guy at the desk to ask questions. First impression- this guy made everyone feel welcomed and important. He handled the crowd well. mad props to him! the lobby is clean and welcoming. they sell a few sundries, beer, drinks and some frozen meals. this place has a tiny pool and fitness center and 3 washers for you to do laundry on the first floor. oh- and a business meeting space. the property is QUIET. really quiet. That's a big plus when traveling with kids. They also took my crazy cat. we ended up in a studio as no upgrade was available. it was clean and stocked with pots (try not to cook too much since the pots aren't the best), microwave, fridge with ice maker AND dishes and utensils. all were clean and ready for use. the dishwasher is a big plus too. Location isn't bad. a Target is across the street. Courtyard inn is next door (think full bar!) and babies R us, office depot, chick-fil-a, sunoco, chipotle, starbucks are also easy to walk to. parking is a touch limited, but it's next to the BIG parking area, so not really. ok- breakfast. not too sure how anyone could complain. oatmeal with plenty of toppings, 2 types of yogurt, cheese, eggs, sausage, coffee, iced coffee, tea, juice and bread. OH! and a waffle maker!! all was stocked and they had plenty of seating for single and family types the outdoor area has a grill, patio to chill and a basketball hoop. my only gripe is- the outdoor seating is not gated in, so i can't let the wild one be too wild! so far, no issues as the staff is friendly and the food is good.
This hotel is wonderful. The staff are very nice. The rooms are nicely sized and very clean. Nice size indoor pool. The hotel is in a great area and close to DC. We for sure will come back for another weekend soon.
Friendly staff and pretty clean rooms. Parking can be an issue though. Had to park rather far from the hotel entrances at night. Would stay here again if price was competitive, but would prefer newer properties in the area. Convenience to restaurants and shopping is a plus.
This area has grown so much over the last five years. The hotel is very nice and the rooms are great! We stay here every year going back and to Florida because it welcomes our 2 Golden retrievers and its so comfortable.
After having a check-in fall through at a nearby hotel we stopped at Residence Inn to see if they had any rooms available. After telling them what happened they more than accommodated our stay and were extremely nice and very professional. This place is definitely on the top of our list for the next time we travel to the D.C. area. The room was very nice for a 4 person family. The breakfast was also very good. Thanks Residence Inn Woodbridge!
