we chose it for the price/location and was only going to be in town 1 night and would be out all day for lunch and dinner so we didnt need anything fancy. it was a perfectly reasonable stay. clean bathrooms and amenities. only thing was the thinness of the walls and hearing your neighbours but it didnt keep us up.

Stayed for five days, for a seminar. Room clean, comfortable, everything easy to find within it. Close to city center. Room service delivered on time every time. Food amazing and well priced. All Staff, exceptionally, professional, helpful, approachable. Something often lacking in today's world. Even a resident Labrador. While it didn't bother me, Wifi is a big deal to most and it is a problem here, there is nothing the Hotel can do, it's the NBN. Modest, well priced would stay again in a heartbeat

The rooms are lovely, shower head needs improvement. Staff very friendly. We had a drink in the bar and the bartender was very helpful and friendly, good atmosphere. Our room was ground floor, which was in a brilliant spot.

This was the 2nd time we've stayed in this hotel, and again were not disappointed. It's not luxury, but you can't expect that at their reasonable prices. The rooms are a decent size, and it's in a good location, close to some good cafes and restaurants. The restaurants is reasonable too, but to be honest, there are better options nearby.

We booked this hotel based off the information provided on the hotel's website. Wifi and cleanliness were important for us. Unfortunately, the hotel website photos look better than the actual room we stayed in (twin room with two queen beds). Even though the room had been renovated in some ways (bathroom), it felt old, dark and not fresh. I feel this had to do with the furniture as well, even though I appreciate the hotel is "colonial". A positive is that the window opened for fresh air, however the room was so dusty. When the sunlight was shining through the window, dust was everywhere and on the beds. You could see it flying in the air when we threw a book onto the bed. The bathrooms were tiled black, but appeared clean, even though the bathroom was small. The dust caused irritation and my son and I felt itchy and I broke out in a rash on my arms. Due to this, I did not have a good nights sleep. We could not get wifi. I called reception and was advised that they would reset the modem and to try again in 15 mins. Still no wifi. Called reception again and a staff member came over to our room. We showed her that we could not get wifi on either 3 of our phones. I explained to the staff member that I had a new Iphone 8 so the issue was not with us having old technology. The staff member left and advised that she would try resetting the wifi again. This made no difference and we could not get wifi for our entire stay. We also tried to watch an in house movie, however the movie kept buffering due to the wifi. When I went to settle our bill, I expressed my dissatisfaction with the dust and wifi. The staff member apologised and I was offered a discount on our hotel rate. The staff at at the hotel were friendly and did try to assist where possible, even though the wifi issue could not be resolved. I cannot comment on room service or a meal in the restaurant as we did not eat in. Overall, I would not stay at this motel again.

This hotel is modest but well located near the center of town with friendly and helpful staff. A small fitness room and laundry facilities round out the amenities. Rooms are standard. Breakfast is not included, nor should you include it. You can find many cafes nearby.

Stayed here for three nights and it was a bit small for two of us - kept getting in each other's way! Friendly staff, nice restaurant, good laundry, great location! Lots of bars and eateries within walking distance.

Many rooms with balconies for the smokers, and comfortable beds and rooms. Room service available, or eat in the lovely restaurant with it's own bar. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff, and we will definitely stay there again next time in Launceston Tas. A+

I am travelling to Launceston in January 2018 and booked 4 nights accomodation at this hotel through Wotif. As I'm a carer to elderly parents, I never know whether I'll actually get to take a holiday or whether I'll have to cancel so I always book the free cancellation option and pay at the Hotel. So I chose to book a Deluxe Queen room, free cancellation until the day before the stay and with the pay later option. I was horrified when my Visa statement arrived and the hotel had charged me the full fee of $820 two months in advance of my travelling dates. I phoned them immediately and the receptionist was very abrupt, telling me that I had made a mistake when booking and that I had not booked with a refundable option. She told me she had my details on her computer and could see that my booking was not for the pay at the hotel option. She would not for a minute consider that there was a mistake on the part of the hotel here. She blamed me, then on ending the call she told me to enjoy my stay. Not likely! I phoned Wotif and they were very helpful. They brought my booking details up and it was exactly as I thought - free cancellation, pay at hotel. The Wotif staff person told me not to worry, they would phone the hotel and sort out this mistake.Within 24 hours Wotif phoned me to say that the hotel was indeed in the wrong and that they would be refunding my money. They asked if I wanted to keep my booking - no way, I cancelled immediately. If the hotel staff make this kind of mistake and are rude to prospective guests as well, then that's not a place I want to stay.

I stayed at this hotel pretty much continuously for about 4 months. The rooms are fantastic. Staff very friendly and helpful. Dale the owner and dog (Lincoln) are very approachable. Convenient location close to shops, bars, gym, schools, hospitals, churches. Good complimentary WiFi. Nice onsite restaurants. Ample onsite parking. Easy 20 minutes drive from airport, 40 minutes flight to Melbourne. Good price. Good service. I strongly recommend this hotel to families and people on business trip. They have traditional and modern rooms. You can check out their photos beforehand and ask for what suits you.
