Ocean Key Resort

The hotel is billed as a resort. Well, it is not like any resort I have ever stayed at. The amenities advertised are spread amongst several hotels. The best thing about this hotel is the front desk staff. They are welcoming, always smiling, good humored and very nice. The most disappointing part about this stay was Orbitz. I ordered 2 oceanfront adjoining king rooms, one of which was to have a full kitchen. Well, I received none of the above. The hotel was one block off the ocean, the rooms were not adjoining and there was no full kitchen. Orbitz was called - they're remedy to the problem - find oceanfront accommodations elsewhere for which I was to pay, they would open an investigation as they felt the issue may have been agent error, if it was determined the issue was in fact due to agent error, I would be refunded the funds for our stay at ocean key resort. I explained I didn't have the funds to cover other accommodations, they didn't care. We ended up staying at ocean key resort in our non-oceanfront rooms with no balcony just a small cracker box window in the bedrooms - overlooking parking lots, our rooms on separate floors, with small kitchenette. I have been using Orbitz for years. Well, never again. I cannot believe they did not even try to right their wrong. Extremely disappointed in their lack of customer service.

Our family always stays here. However, this was my moms first trip. She was happy with it. With the exception of things to do in the hotel which is not very much. The pool is good just keep the children out of the jacuzzi if at all possible.

hot is great. nice staff. restaurant is very nice. swimming pool is great. hotel is next block to beach.

Awesome place for the value. We didn't really stay in the room too much but just for sleeping. But pool in the lobby was a little loud...but did look nice. It's was near the end of the strip, so we did quite a bit of walking...next time I'll just rent a scooter or something.lol

The hotel was in a great location. It was clean and comfortable with lots of space.

Spacious suite for a budget-friendly price. No daily maid service was not a problem with the free bed linen and towel exchange program. Kitchenette was more than adequate with a full-sized refrigerator and even a small dishwasher. Location is good; not beach front but just across the street. Within walking distance to some of the best restaurants in Va Beach. I would stay again.

Ocean Key Resort was a fine place to run and see the ocean one more time before winter sets in. Room was comfortable and the staff was excellent in their positions. Friendly, helpful and a pleasure to work with. Only snag was that the address must be put into your GPS with it's zip code. Our vehicle didn't give us that option so we spent 1hr driving to the Coast Guard base north of Va. Beach. Other than that, our experience there was superb. Good food within walking distance, and the Holiday Lights on the boardwalk was money well spent. Enjoyed our stay and will probably return.

The room was as advertised. Very clean, up to date and close to the beach. We will return next year!

From the time of my reservation mix up (I booked the wrong date and had to switch) to the check out, everything was perfect. The staff was knowledgeable and helpful. The one bedroom suite I had reserved was well kept and clean. The kitchen was full stocked and more than what we (my gf and I) expected. Though it's one block from the beach, it's worth it. I would recommend this place to anybody on a budget and looking for a quite getaway or family weekend.

This hotel claimed to be a resort with a suite for your room. The suite part was correct...there's a living room area, kitchenette, etc. which was fine. However, they do not provide daily housekeeping services unless requested and paid extra for. The pool is in the main lobby and smells WAY strong of chlorine. There was no fitness center, or complimentary breakfast. Something in the ventilation system in the room air conditioning unit caused both of us in the room to have horrendous sneezing/allergy fits. I wouldn't stay here again.
