Rooms need updating. Service was friendly. Other guests were loud at night.

Remodel was nice. Beautiful check-in area.nonmore to say.

Room was only cleaned once in 5 days. Verry poorly kept workout room.

My nonsmoking room had a strong smoke odor. The room decor had been updated but still had too potent of smel to be able to stay in the room.

Older hotel, but the room I had was nicely remodeled. Friendly staff.

Good place to come in out of the cold, the hotel is older establishment but very clean and comfortable . Close to everything that matters.

Overall it wasn't as bad as the reviews led me to believe. It is older than a lot of places but was clean and the beds were comfortable. Air conditioner was noisy. The microwave on top of the refrigerator wasn't plugged in and the cord would not reach to any plug ins without picking up the microwave and moving it. No place to set it on anyway. The pool and restaurant were not open but we didn't plan on using them. Breakfast was ok.

When we first got there, the room smelled like smoke and we had to leave the door open for a couple hours to let it freshen up. Other than the smoke smell, the room was very clean and comfortable. The shower head was a little funny to get to use, but once you got used to it it was alright. The breakfast was a little lacking, has my wife and I both have dietary restrictions we weren't able to eat anything that they had. We had hope for some fruit for my wife, or maybe a waffle which I really enjoy. Our biggest disappointment was the lack of pool. We booked a more expensive hotel for the sole purpose of having a pool to swim in, and their pool was not operational. Overall it was a mediocre facility, and I would recommend it again. Staff was very good. Top notch staff!

The owner wouldn't give me a receipt when I was checking out. He kept saying that "Expedia" would send me a receipt. Uhhh...I didn't book the room through Expedia, I used Orbitz, and I Orbitz didn't my credit card, YOU DID! The towel rack fall off of the wall, and all the towels went into the toilet. This hotel is trashy, and I wouldn't recommend it to anyone! Total dive! The breakfast was terrible, and the owner kept talking about how the food inspector had told them not to do things the way they were doing it, but he kept doing it that way anyway. I will NEVER stay at this dive again! It is 100 years old, and hasn't been remodeled ever!

The "pristine" pool was empty. The room's carpet had a moist feel... Just pretty old school and mildly scary. No joke that at 1 AM some teenagers were having sex out in the parking lot and open their door, slamming the door into our nice jeep, which set off the alarm. Just what my husband wanted to wake up to.

While it was relatively clean and the entrance area was lovely, it was misleading. The rooms were out of the 50's. The fixtures were extremely old and looked like it. The carpet was damp and wrinkled. New bedspreads though.

When we arrived there was only one bed in the room instead of the the two I had reserved. They offered to put in a rollaway. I said this was unacceptable. They said they were fully booked. They offered to "see what they could find" After a while they found a room with two beds in it. They blamed my on-lline reservations. They said often the on-line folk book reservations when there are no rooms.

Breakfast is a big deal to my family . . . apparently the free breakfast has changed over recent months, because it was pretty disappointing. I chose this particular hotel since it had good reviews of the breakfast. Maybe the items on the menu vary by day of the week . . . but Sunday morning wasn't very appealing.

Right on Hiway 81, easy parking, gas station right next to the hotel. Good breakfast in the morning with sausage, eggs, and cold food as well.

Check in and out was easy and quick. Staff is super friendly. Service and food at Baileys is wonderful. My only complaint was not being able to slow time down and make it last longer!

I have stayed at several of the newer/more expensive hotels when visiting friends in Norfolk. I don't understand why all the hotels are so much more expensive in this town than other parts of the country. Had biscuits and gravy at free breakfast ... would recommend this hotel.

Outward appearance looks run-down but rooms are clean, friendly staff, decent free breakfast, nice outdoor pool, bar/restaurant=good drinks/food. Definitly would benefit from an outside make-over.
