My partner and I booked this hotel in March of 2022 for our November trip. We had read other reviews etc. and were excited to come stay in the jacuzzi suite on the 10th floor. It was a bit disappointing when we arrived - our room's air conditioning did not work properly and the room was damp - from the bedding, to the towels to the couch, etc. There were no other available rooms, we were told, and waited for maintenance to come. I expected the hotel manager to do something for us - any room, but was treated a bit poorly. This trip was costing us thousands of dollars and I wanted the manager to be a bit more gracious. After a few hours maintenance procured a dehumidifier that we had to empty every 4-6 hours during our stay. This helped with the moisture in the room. Same evening, still on our first day, the shower drain did not drain - water was up to my ankles. Maintenance came and took care of this issue. With that being said, most staff were amazingly friendly, especially Dwight at the front desk. The views from my room were spectacular and we used the patio jacuzzi, which was great. Food - very good, we stuck mainly to the buffet in the main restaurant, but did try the sit down Italian place. The pool was clean and the beach area truly was spectacular. We will definitely come back to Aruba, but I don't know if we would stay at the Riu Palace again. My partner - he enjoyed himself - but feels the same.

Food choices and quality were great

The view from the balcony to the pool and the ocean, amazing...

It was a nice a suprise to find out that both Rui resorts were next to each other and amenities were included for both regardless of if you picked the adult only or family resort. Unfortunately all resort organized entertainment ended at 9:30pm.

The ceiling in the room broke and was leaking. The bathtub was leaking as well.

The music was way too loud. you could not understand a word that was being said, because it was too loud. The entertainment at night time was even louder and ended at 11 o’clock and once again you could not understand a word that was being said. The entertainment ended at 11 o’clock which is too late if your room is right next to the stage also the entertainment was outdated and ridiculous.

Great; however quality of food not consistent

They need to update the property and clean more. I have stayed at RIU Resorts before and this one needs a major overhaul and the property can be cleaner. I was a bit surprised since we are still dealing with covid and that they did NOT have any hand sanitizer anywhere on the property.

Staff was very friendly and helpful all the time. The pool closes at 7pm, I am on vacation, I want to lay by the pool all day, or swim at the beach all day and I can't because they shut everything down. Why do the restaurants have dress codes, i get that they may be a little nicer but its a resort most people are walking around in bathing suits.and all the restaurants close early. Cabanas by the pool would be nice, even if we have to rent them. There were tons of people celebrating birthdays and Anniversaries the resort should give these people some kind of gift or a discount for an excursion..It was a very expensive place and there were no discounts for guests at the gift shops, which would of been nice and i would of purchased something if they gave me a discount. The clothes in the gift shop were very nice but very expensive. Aruba was nice, very overrated. Just an fyi be prepared for very high prices.

THE GOOD -Great food lots of options. Centrally located. Beautiful grounds & pool area THE BAD - At check in I was given a downgraded room. I paid for a junior suite, partial ocean view room. Was put in a single, facing a wall and garage door at street level . The room was in utter disrepair. Broken patio door, bathroom window glass cracked, no toiletries, burnt out light bulbs, general uncleanliness. - Was told they could give me the room I actually booked and paid for the next day if I: a) Reconfirmed the next morning in person at 10 AM that I still want to change rooms b) Returned to desk at 11 AM to check out c) checked into my new room at 4 pm so I can finally unpack and settle in - Essentially wasted a vacation because of what I’ll call a “mistake”, though I can’t help but feel like this is a tactic to cheat guests. (Side note: this same thing happened when I visited in 2015) Hard to get a beach chair on beach or at pool. Guests start “holding” chairs as early as 5:30am. Shortage of pool towels. Unable to get towels for 3 days. Any solution I proposed (using bath towels, contacting me when fresh towels became available, etc) was rejected. FINAL THOUGHTS Aside from several frustrating incidences, I had a nice time. I’m appreciative of the hard-working staff here. Not sure if I will return - would either have to get an extremely cheap rate or not care if I’m forced to spend a good chunk of my limited holiday time on housekeeping issues

Amazing stay, I love the RIU chain and I stay at it every island I visit that has one. My girlfriend had a amazing Birthday trip for our first time in Aruba. Yes it did rain a lot which was very rare but it was still beautiful

The staff very friendly! Cleaning of the rooms could of been cleaned better, especially the shower! Breakfast buffet excellent! Lunch & dinner was ok. Trying to get into a restaurant was long wait they do not take dinner reservations. Wanted information about timeshare no one was ever at the desk.

Family trip to celebrate our 25th anniversary and daughters college graduation. 1st trip since covid and we were so excited to start traveling again. I have to tell you it was so disappointing!!! - We booked 3 partial ocean view JR. suites and all 3 rooms had a problems. 2 rooms had NO AC and 1 bathroom wasn't even clean. My room every time you flushed the toilet it made a squealing high pitch sound for 3 - 5 minutes. No mini bar set up in any of our rooms. When I went down to the front desk to complain I was given an attitude an excuses. Finally after 1.5 hours at the I was given 1 new room and a maintenance man for the other 2. The poor condition of the hotel was upsetting paint peeling off the wall, pool tiles broken. Elevators dirty, hand prints and smudges ( no high touch cleaning here) Restaurants close by 9pm need to line up like cattle by 6pm. We were only able to enjoy 2 and needed to leave property the other 2 nights to get dinner. So glad I paid for all inclusive and had to spend another $ 800.00 on top to be able to eat dinner, I do want to give a shout out to The STAFF POOL SIDE WERE AWSOME - BILLY, RAUL AND RAINY. VERY UPSET

Pillows were much too small.

The grounds are beautiful, the food is excellent. Service with a smile at all times!

This resort needs a lot of remodeling. The pool stairs look like it was about to fall apart, the rooms only had 2 sockets, stains on the mirror & one of the bedding had stains. The food was not good only the breakfast. Lunch & dinner was really nasty. I love the drinks though!! They make the best lemon drop! Dining staff is not so friendly but housekeeping and the bartenders were really nice and friendly. Good pool exercises and beach excursions

There wasn’t enough entertainment around the pool. They were supposed to play bingo at noon but that didn’t happen. There wasn’t enough music being Played. Most of the time the entertainment staff stood around and didn’t do the activities. Disappointed in that

The property itself was lovely The staff was very accommodating, friendly & helpful. The amenities were wonderful -great food and entertainment!

To much work to obtain a spot by the pool or on the beach. Woke up early to get our towels and lounge chairs only to go to breakfast and come back to beach and the chairs/towels are gone.
