Was here for one night and found the rooms to be very large. Later learned that I was fortunate to have a VIP room on the higher floor. I found that everything was working well and that was not the same experience of my colleague on a lower floor. The shower and bath area was especially large. Window curtains closed fully so that the room was able to be very dark Interesting items for purchase in the mini bar and bathroom. Overall it was a fine night.
This hotel advertises it is 5 stars, it is no where near, 3 would be more accurate. The rooms are large but tired, it appears little has been done simce the hotel was built, there were small holes in the bed sheet and the anti slip mat in the bathroom was mouldy. Breakfast was a poor affair, there was a reasonable choice of Chinese items but little of the promissed Western fayre, they ran out of coffee cupsand glasses and there were many tables awaiting clearing, we had to sit at a messy table as that was all there was. To add to this the restaurant has only a B rating, not what is expected of a top establshment. Reception staff were friendly but were not able to answer simple questions on surrounding attractions. all in all not a good experiance.
Rooms are a bit worn down but spacious and AC warm enough (good when I went there, don't know about the cooling during summer). The equipment in the room is not the best, bad connection in the mains outlets, 2 ironing boards but no iron, security chain missing, safe not working, not very comfortable bed. Breakfast were good. Easy and convenient check in and out. The Korean/Japanese restaurant is good.
We always book this hotel when we have to go to Fenghua on business trip as we appreciate staff courtesy and cleanliness. at reception you can always find someone who can speak good English willing to help. Rooms are big and comfortable. Breakfast buffet is rich and with good choice for western guests as well in a lovely atmosphere. inside the hotel you can chose restaurants for dinner as well. I would recommend the Japanese. unfortunately staff cannot speak English and they are not familiar with wine (they even have troubles in opening a bottle) but food is fresh and well presented and the atmosphere is cool. if I have to find a negative point, I would say that recently they increased the price and frankly speaking I have not found added value for that. anyway it is always a good choice to relax after a long day working.
