It is the second time that i visit this hotel, as my first visit was ok. This time I experienced issues with both the laundry service and show shine services; both were not done, i was not notified of that and only discoverers it after and extensive work day at the office(2am in the morning) and with a train to catch at 9 am the next day. Basically a disaster on two simple services that a high starred hotel should give to someone travelling for business. I give two points, because the first time I stayed at the hotel, the experience was ok.
As a tourist, what is one of the most convenient thing to have on your trip? English speaking service of course! There's not much of it in China, but certainly there's a good one here. Especially when you need help checking in, out, while having a breakfast, or even asking for directions. There's always a reliable English speaking person to aid you around the hotel. We even befriend one of them named Chelsea. She was really helpful in guiding us for the breakfast and other stuff.
Good part: 1. Nice services, 2. Big room, 3. Good location. Bad part: 1. The food can be better 4/10, 2. Price for the food is too high, 3. The WORST internet that you can get in the Hotel. It was okay but not gonna rush to stay here again,
The central location of the hotel helps you access all the touristic locations easily. The Ningbo Zoo, the aquarium, Romon U park, various shopping areas have good connectivity. The hotel is located near the moon lake which is a great place to relax in the evening with kids.
It’s a pretty average hotel in a pretty average place. Has seen better days for sure, but not totally sub standard. I wouldn’t rush here and was glad the stay was one night only! No chance to check what any of the facilities were like
Stayed here while on a family trip. Convenient location (near Tianyi Library and Moon lake). The rooms were a nice size. The breakfast buffet quality was a little lower than other hotels in China we have stayed at, but decent variety of Chinese and Western items. Worst "muffin" I have ever had (I put "muffin" in quotes because it looked like a muffin but it tasted nothing like a muffin). Decent fitness center, interestingly enough there is a squash court.
This hotel was a nice surprise. Located in downtown Ningbo, it had big rooms equipped with all necessary amenities. Bed was comfortable, bathroom was modern. I visited two restaurants , one for dinner and one for breakfasts. Dining menu was sufficient and included western as well as local dishes. Breakfast buffet was very nice and offered a wide variety of foods for westerners as well as locals. Overall a positive experience and go back there. BTW, I stayed at Block A (main building), not sure what Block B of the hotel is. The hotel team was very impressive and more than ready to help.
I found the Wyndham to be a great choice in downtown Ningbo. It was only an overnight stay so I did not sample the full range of facilities. Staying on the Executive level, the rooms were very comfortable. The exec lounge/business centre were very helpful when assistance was needed. The lounge happy hour is always welcome at the end of the day's business.
There is nearly nothing redeeming in this hotel. We stayed here on a business trip with my family. There is no air conditioning, but only heating, and the heat level is the same for all rooms. So when it was incredibly hot in the room, we were told we could open up the windows. The windows with no guard rails, so my toddler son could climb up and plunge six stories to his death. We were initially given a room with a dangerous table for my toddler. The first room had loud music playing from below, with a view of the stage. I'm not sure how to describe it, as I've never seen its like. There is a giant hall for conferences and performances, and the hotel abuts that hall. The view from the room is of a ... wall, with a tiny view of the stage, and a whole lot of noise. We were told that the hall is actually not part of the hotel, and then were later told it is. The new room we got had a view of... entirely the wall. To be fair, we could now see the people seated in the chairs below. And yes, lots of noise. Did I mention the wall? It meant that you couldn't actually get any breeze to cool down the place. So no, I didn't get any sleep. Which, in my opinion, is the main purpose of a hotel. Basically, they don't know how to hotel. I must say, we did appreciate the loan of a child-size robe, with child-sized slippers. That was the one redeeming feature of the hotel. They were cute. The room had English-language channels, including ones for kids. The food in the buffet is simply atrocious. Most of the time I picked through it like Dick Cheney looking for evidence of WMD. There was just nothing there that was palatable. Considering all the difficulties we had, we did ask for the hotel if they'd be willing to accommodate us on a small item. They refused.
True to its name the hotel is excellent. Rooms are simply great with lots of space. Very tastefully done. Bed is very comfortable. Wi-fi and other facilities are good. Restaurant offers great food. definitely recommended.
