Good cost/benefit ratio. We stayed there for 4 days as our base to get tô know Cote Dazur. Good choice hotel. The location is not só close (better to take the tram) to the restaurants in the old tow of nice, but it worked for us. Yet the room was a good size tô accomodate the 3 of us (me, my wife and 3-year old son) very comfortably. Breakfast is honest.
Arrived just before lunch and found that our room was already available which meant we could sort ourselves out before heading for lunch. Very friendly staff and excellent communal areas – lobby, bar, restaurant and a small but pleasant roof top pool area. Rooms were a bit functional (premier inn standard) but clean and comfortable. I had requested a quiet room and was allocated a top floor rear facing one which was sheltered from the road noise but I could hear a fan noise despite turning off the air con. Breakfast was a bit crowded due to some large conference groups staying at the hotel. The lifts at this time were also very busy and we ended up walking down 6 flights one morning. Breakfast itself was a limited buffet but generally good quality – ok for a couple of nights but would be a bit repetitive for anything longer. The other downside is the location which is about a 15 minute walk to the old town, 30 minute to the sea front but overall we would use again – a decision swayed by the pool area which was very pleasant after a long day touring.
A typical average quite large mainly congress and business oriented hotel. In an 80s building, one of a pair with the adjacent NH hotel the hotel has good and lesser sides. On the plus side are the location which is close to the tramline and the quality of the breakfast. The breakfast which is run smoothly by a very nice older lady has fresh orange juice, good croissants and cheese and all the other usual choises. As a tourist you've got to get up early though. The buffet closes on weekdays already at 9.30. The rooms are rather small and a bit outdated in contrast with the main entrance and dinner floor which has been renovated more recently. The bed is good though, the window can be opened and AC is quite silent. In the week we stayed there were twice technical problems with the watersupply. For a couple of hours there was no tapwater at all on sunday morning. The hotel staff though served free bottles of Evian to compensate which was a nice gesture. Tip: don't use the regular taxis in Nice, they are very expensive. Uber will set you back only 21 Euro from the airport to the hotel instead of the 35 Euro a regular taxi will cost you. Public transport will be fine as well.
I booked this hotel for 12 people for a hen do. This hotel was slightly cheaper than others I was looking at as it wasn't on the sea front. The location was actually ideal. A 10 minute walk to the markets and 15 minutes to the sea. The bedrooms were a bit small for 3 adults. The pool on the roof was great. The staff really went the extra mile to make our stay memorable.
Rooms comfortable and spacious. Bathtub a bit high to get in /out for shower and base can get slippery. Excellent buffet breakfast with multi choices. Reception very friendly and efficient. Spoke good English.
Stayed here while visiting the hotel for F1 weekend we stayed 4 nights which was perfect. The hotel is located around 10 minutes walk to train line which goes to Monaco around 20 minutes to Monaco. Also you can jump on and off the tram next to the hotel when visiting the beach. The hotel staff were great from the moment we arrived. We asked for an iron to be brought to the room they brought it immediately great service. The hotel is clean and tidy and the roof terrace pool is a nice place to relax.
First impression not great. 2 coaches have arrived at the hotel and there are only 2 receptionists doing check in and a queue has formed and is going out of the hotel!! That needs much better preparation and planning. The most shocking part of this hotel is the readiness of the staff that I encountered to happily and readily say "no". Without thinking about it. This maybe a lack of training or not been given the freedom from management to allow employees to make a decision, I don't know but seriously not impressed and I don't think I would recommend or return. On the other hand it is relatively easy to catch a train to go to Monaco and even a team to go into the old part of Nice. The rooms were basic and bathrooms seemed to be of a late 80s era. There are probably plenty of hotels that will do much better. I was once asked in a hotel survey in Dubai "during your stay, did any of the staff use the word no, in an answer" and to this I answered no. Unfortunately for Novotel it was very much the first word that closed a conversation and create an argument.
Stayed in this hotel for the formula one Grand Prix although this is a great location and was clean and tidy not much else going for it I didn't expect though to hear the cars racing around the hotel from about 5 in morning and this wasn't on the Grand Prix track ! The bar was a bit hit and miss depending who was serving the pool was basic this is definitely not a 4/5 star hotel
Just stayed three nights for the Grand Prix. Very welcoming and efficient bi (tri) lingual staff. Breakfast buffet a la France as good as it gets. Simple menu until late night perfectly adequate but great gastronomic experiences located nearby. Room and large bed both comfortable. Three or four nights OK but a longer stay might be a touch too long
A very simple hotel in the center of Nice, France. The breakfast was awesome, and the room are big enough to accommodate up to 4 people. However, the front desk on that night was not friendly enough, maybe because we checked in about 9 in the evening and stayed for about 40's people.
