My wife and I were in Nice for the first time, and were lucky enough to choose the Ambassador. I say that because the helpfulness of the staff made all the difference in making our stay in a new place very comfortable. When we checked in, we asked if the room faced the front or the back. The front desk agent, Norbert, told us that it was a rear facing room, but that he had another room for the same price that had a (side) view of the sea. He gave us the keys to both rooms for us to decide. After looking, we chose the side room with a partial view of the sea. During our 6 day stay we got to know another front desk agent, Paulo. Each of them was very willing to help with directions and suggestions that both allowed us to see all the the places that interested us the most, and to get there quickly and cheaply by bus or tram. Our impression of Norbert was that he has all the qualities of a great concierge, and that Paulo is a refined soft spoken and patient gentleman. We always felt comfortable speaking to them, and asking for advice. The hotel itself is in prime location. We easily walked to the Old City (don't miss the Monday Antique Market that sets up in the area of the Flower Market), and to many other places for restaurants and shops. The building, not modern, is typically French looking with windows that open! It has been renovated, is clean, is one block from the promenade, and has a park right outside. We had a terrific stay, and would go back again.
The hotel's location is great. Near to the seaside and to Old town. It was easy to go to the hotel from airport with bus 98. The room was nice and clean (daily cleaning). I could see the sea from my room. It was beautiful. Bed was very comfortable. Breakfast is good. Staff is very friendly and helpful and they are speaking lots of different language. It was especially good, that I could speak on my own language (Hungarian) with one of the reception guys. He is very nice and always smiling :) I can offer this hotel for everybody. Nice also great as starting point to visit Cannes, Antibes and Monaco. A szálloda elhelyezkedése nagyszerű. Közel a tengerparthoz és az óvároshoz. Könnyű volt eljutni a hotelig a repülőtérről a 98-as busszal. A szoba szép és tiszta volt. (naponta takarították). A szobából kilátás nyílt a tengerre, ami gyönyörű volt. Az ágy nagyon kényelmes volt. A reggeli jó.
My 80-year-old parents booked a standard room from this hotel, in which they stayed 2 weeks also in autumn last year. They were given a noisy room on 2nd floor. After one sleepless night they asked for a change into a quieter one but were shown 2 same category rooms, one 2 floors up and another at the end of a long staircase without a lift and daylight. They were asked + 60-80 €/day for the change, which my parents refused to pay. When I phoned the hotel and asked for a change using French, I was interrupted multiple times and in the end the call was cut by the receptionist. Only after my complaint e-mail message to the head of customer service (=director) enabled the change and indeed into a very nice room. Receptionist still remained quite unfriendly, I was told. Be aware, especially if you are a Finn, you are given the worst hotel rooms as we don't tend to make complaints. The room pictures given in the internet do not match with the reality unfortunately, there are plenty of poorer rooms in the hotel.
The hotel is one block from the amazing French Riviera beach and right across the street from a charming, restful park. The rooms are a fair size, breakfast is good and varied, buffet style the staff are helpful. There are excellent restaurants just around the corner. Hertz Car rental is half a block away. Very central. About 1 miute walk to old town.
We spent a wonderful 2 days in this small hotel . The hotel is just a short walk from the no 98 airport bus so saves on taxi fares . We were met with a very friendly and helpful receptionist our room was spacious, with a king size very comfortable bed and nice ensuite with a good shower and bath and lots of hot water and although the hotel is very central our room was quiet . It is just off the promenade des anglais , a short walk to the beach , veille Nice shops and restaurants and a 20 minute stroll to the harbour .
We enjoyed our stay at this hotel very much. The reception staff were all very helpful especially Norbert. The hotel is in a great location just off the promenade and close to everything - public transport, sights, beach, restaurants and bars. The room itself was comfortable and clean. The toilet and shower room were separate which we found handy and were very clean and modern. The room was cleaned every day and the towels changed.
Highly recommend Ambassador hotel as room was bright and comfortable and Reception desk very helpful . Other staff also very friendly at breakfast. Location was great as many local buses start across the street for different areas of sightseeing and also possible to come by bus from the airport if you have carry on bags. Other restaurants round the corner and even grocery store within walking distance. All this helps to make your stay a Pleasant one.
The rooms are extremely small, very little room for 2 people and luggage. The staff speak very little English and make very little effort to be helpful. We only spent 2 nights on our way to Monaco so it served its purpose after a long flight but would not recommend as somewhere for anything other than a bed to sleep in. One positive was the location. Great walking along the promenade.
We stayed here for few nights as it was short get away to Nice. The hotel was nice and comfortable. The rooms were quite small but very clean and just what we needed for the few nights. Great location in excellent distance from beach and all attractions. Highly recommend this hotel!
My husband and I stayed here for 6 nights at the end of August. We just wanted a break away in the sun with a hotel close to the beach. So for that, this hotel is perfect. The location is great, super close to the beaches and the beautiful old town. The hotel itself and room is a little dated and tired but that didn't take away from any comfort. The room was very clean every single day and the bathroom was great. The bed was really comfortable and we both had brilliant nights sleep the whole time we were there! Breakfast was good, there was plenty of choice. However I would like to see the breakfast tables changed as it would be nice to be able to fit your legs under the table! They are far too low compared to the chairs. The staff were brilliant, so friendly and eager to help at any time and always greeted with a smile. They are a credit to the hotel. Thank you so much for a wonderful stay.
