Stayed 3 nights in June & were very happy with our experience. The hotel is located perfectly for visiting the old town & castle hill. The rooms are quite basic but only as we expected. Staff are amazingly friendly & most informative for anything you need be it from the best cafes & supermarkets to cash machines & bus times. We shall certainly be returning for more help with our French speaking lessons from Paulo & Norbert soon!
If you only care about location, this is the ideal hotel for you. Other than that, the photos online have nothing to do with reality. The room was extremely small and dated, the bed was falling apart, there were light bulbs that needed replacing. The bathroom was more modern and clean. It was very noisy, the walls were paper thin. We didn't ask for a room with sea view but we were really not expecting our window to be facing a wall!! That together with the size of the room added to the claustrophobic feeling that the room gives. We paid more than 130 euros per night (off season) for a below average room.
We were a group of 33 people staying at the hotel for 3 nights, and we were so happy with our choice. The hotel has the best location, the staff was very friendly and helpful, the rooms clean and recently refurbished, and a lot of them had fantastic view to the park and promenade. The breakfast was very good, and we had the best stay. Since we were a big group we had a lot of contact with the hotel before we came; they answered our e-mail quickly, the payment was easy and they arranged pickup at the airport for us. I will give this hotel the best recommendations.
For a short getaway I booked a trip to Nice and The Ambassador was very reasonably priced. Travel via taxi from the airport was quite expensive (35 euro) as road works and peak time arrival made the journey quite lengthy, though in truth it is only 4-5 miles away. The hotel looks rather tired from outside and scaffolding outside adds to the general feeling that The Ambassador might have seen better days. On entry to the clean and presentable reception we were met by a very friendly chap who explained everything we needed for a pleasant stay, including pointing out places of interest on the town map he handed to us. The hotel is very conveniently located, in the centre of the bar and restaurant area of the 'new town' whilst only several minutes away from the picturesque old town. Our room was a 'double comfort' which was quite small but clean and adequate. The bed was large and comfy and the bathroom was modern and attractive. Continental breakfast was offered each morning for 12 euro but a wealth of offerings in the town make this offer appear rather pointless. Nice is a beautiful city with charm and typical French finesse. If you are looking for a reasonably priced break, I can advise The Ambassador wholeheartedly. By the way, catch the number 98 bus to the airport which stops on the main strip (6euro each!!).
Reached hotel but the price was too much as compared to the offer on Makemytrip. So asked staff for a WiFi connection to let us book through Makemytrip..But were not permitted. Anyway booked the room by using internet from outside and price was lesser by 40% !! Hotel Air-conditioning is poor as the room was cold and heating was not enough. Reception told that we were in summers... While every one including the locals were wearing woollens!! So it was bad attitude!
My family and I are avid travelers who enjoy exploring new places, culture, and people. On my second visit to fabulous Nice, I stayed at Ambassador Hotel. What makes Ambassador a great treasure, is its knowledgeable and friendly staff, its clean and sunny rooms and its fabulous location. Monsieur Norbert, in particular, stands out. He took the time and told me about the history of our charming hotel, suggested places for me to visit, in the 2.5 short days I had in the city, as well as recommended great options for dining. I am very grateful to him and the rest of the staff. Merci beaucoup!
Gud hotel very close to sea beach and French riveria. You can see the sea from window. Rooms are clean, comfortable as average Europe hotel. Main advantage is it's location. Hotel staffs were good, helpful and gentle. Breakfast was available but we had not taken. It is mid range great deal.
The hotel was clean - but dated in appearance. Clearly there has some renovation efforts - the bathrooms are modern and there are hints of fresh paint in places - but there is still some way to go to drag this place into the modern era. Rooms facing the sea are inherently noisy - due to the hotel's proximity to the road. You can open the windows (which need painting) and hear motorcycles - or close them and bake (air con is well, not really).
my wife and I stayed at the hotel for 4 nights and were pleasantly surprised. the hotel is situated in a perfect location, at the center of the city, with everything around it, less than a minute walk to the beach and just by the market and old city. the room was recently renovated, bigger than expected, very quiet, and overall superb. huge bed and great shower. Would like to mention the super friendly staff, especially NORBERT, the reception manager (how should be the hotel manager), that took the time to answer all our questions and always with a smile and a pleasant attitude. overall we were
Perfect location. Professional and friendly staff (Paulo, Norberto thank you for all). Amazing sea view. Beach in front hotel (2 minutes by feet). All places of interest are within walking distance. This hotel the perfect place to stay during our romantic trip to Nice!
