We just returned from a 7 night stay at the Anam for our anniversary, and we couldn't have made a better choice. Everything about the stay was perfect; the staff, the room, the facilities, the food, the spa, the beach, the sea! We've been lucky enough to stay in some amazing places, but there have been few where we hated leaving. The Anam is one of those few.
The Anam is built in beautiful grounds with excellent taste. When I see the monstrous, new constructions going up along the rest of the beach, it only makes me appreciate the setting of The Anam even more. All Staff were amazingly friendly & polite without being over the top sickly- the best way to be! We booked an Ocean View Pool Villa directly with the hotel for our Honeymoon. A 7 night stay, hoping that we'd be well looked after for the occasion, hopefully with a well-placed villa (the website states that guests are even upgraded when possible). In reality, we were given the 'ocean view villa' with the greatest distance from the sea, so what we actually viewed was a lot of lawn & people walking past to get to the beach. More disappointed were we about the building works that were taking place in the villa opposite us. We are talking hammering, drilling & tile/stone-cutting from 07:30am every day, forcing us out of our otherwise beautiful villa & pool. Though this did push us to find the Afternoon Tea served in The Colonial Restaurant, which was devine. We toyed with the idea of complaining about the works disrupting our stay, but how can you when the staff are all so lovely & you WANT to have a good time?! We also came to expect anomalies with the house-keeping. Each day they would take away towels, glasses, fruit plates etc, yet it was hit & miss as to whether these would be replaced - eg pool towels are really needed when you have a pool at your villa, but we only got these on 2 occasions of our 7 night stay. Don't take them away, if you aren't going to replace them! The Anam is stunning, immaculately kept & I would still recommend the place to others, but because of anomelies in the house-keeping and more-so the disturbing building works, I struggle with the '5 star' label. A true 5-star establishment would never allow such disturbances to happen in the first place.
We arrived on the 16th of Sept and had a perfectly relaxing 4 night stay in the Anam Resort. Our private pool accommodation was spacious, spotlessly clean and close to the beach. The staff were helpful and I cannot over state that their professionalism was top class. We ate in the Beach Club and the Colonial. In the Beach Club we took a break from our focussed on Vietnamese and had steak and chips, however the flavorous were unique as the chef had added a Vietnamese flavour. Everything we ate was perfectly cooked, beautifully presented and tasted superb. My wife's gluten free and vegetarian meal was very good and the staff were well aware of Joan’s dietary needs. This was impressive. We met Peter the head chef on the first night and he was clearly very knowledgable on the issues of gluten intolerance. This put our minds to rest and made for a more relaxed stay as all staff seemed very aware and alert. The Colonial restaurant had a quintessential French food & feel but with a Vietnamese twist with the addition of small flowers, scented leafs and local spices gave the excellent french food a distinctive Vietnamese edge. This is a delight to us western tourists. We appreciate sincerely for the attention to detail and wonderful experience and will recommend the Anam to all our friends. P&J
We had an amazing few days here - we loved the staff so kind ans caring - amazing decor and gardens - the food was very good- the best buffet breakfast in Vietnam - the beach and pools were beautiful - we will return!
We had a really good time but came to expect anomalies that detracted from our expectations for a first class luxury hotel. Good luck to the new GM, Philippe Cavory in whipping it into shape. Do not mistake my critique, we enjoyed ourselves so we will leave out the detailed list and hope to receive a direct enquiry from the management on this subject. The resort stands presently alone on a gorgeous expanse of private clean sandy beach, some 10 km from Cam Ranh airport, and 20 km from the main city of Nha Trang. There are zero shops and restaurants anywhere nearby. However, it is on a huge plot with manicured lawns, gardens, swimming pools, villas and restaurants. The majority of guests were from Mainland China and South Korea, with some Aussies, Kiwis and Russians. There was a minor European contingent. All were catered for by the variety of restaurants. We favoured the Colonial Dining room for its very fine dining options, but also the Vietnamese restaurant for local fayre. There was also a beach club for Western food, and the Indochine breakfast room with its huge high quality international buffet variety. The Saigon bar also attracted our regular patronage. Our room in the main block was a spacious, clean and well equipped, had superior air conditioning and a nice balcony giving a backdrop view of the surrounding hills and side-on panorama of the sea some 300 m away. Most staff had passible English and there were so many who made our stay memorable that it would be unfair to mention individuals. There are quite a few new hotels beginning to be built on this stretch of beach so if you want the quiet we had, go soon.
This is an absolutely beautiful hotel, right on the sea! It is a good 30 minutes form town, but we knew that going in, and we were actually looking for a break from crowds and lots of activity, so this was perfect for us. The main positives are the gorgeous grounds, amazing HUGE & delicious breakfast (everything you could possibly want), wonderful service, numerous pool options & beautiful beach club (many options for swimming, sunbathing, relaxing), and multiple restaurant & bar options (some better than others). There weren't any "negatives" so I don't wish to use that word, as this is an amazing place to stay. However, we reserved a "Sea View Villa", traveling as a family of 3 (we have a 12 year old son); I expected the room ("villa") be 1. much larger than it was and 2. closer to the sea. We could see the sea, but it was a distance away. Also, the "villa" is basically a room, but a separated structure. The bathroom was enormously large, and we didnt' need all of that space. We could've used much more space in the living quarters. That said, I should've read the description more closely and reserved a suite. Other than that, the only disappointment was the Beach Club Restaurant. We dined there our last night, and it was very chaotic - slow & inept service for both food and drinks, ambiance not good (it was more a sports bar feel than a beach club), which is super unfortnate because the location is beautiful and this space could be amazing (turn OFF the televisions or put them on mute, add some beachy music, etc.). It was just very disappointing. That said, we had a great experience at all the other restaurants & bars we visited on property (Lang Viet and Saigon Bar). I highly recommend The Anam if you are looking for a gorgeous place to relax for a few nights. Just read the room descriptions carefully before deciding.
This resort is the definition of pure luxury and relaxation. Upon check in, you will be given a refreshing drink and a cold towel to wipe your face/hands with. Check in process is relatively fast, with buggy available throughout the resort, commute to your room is a breeze. We look a Pool Villa and it was absolutely beautiful! The resort is HUGE and consists of 3 different pools, a movie cinema, a tennis court & even mini golf court. Breakfast choices are also amazing and is always topped up frequently. There is a wide selection of fruits, drinks and local food available as well. The Anam really cares about their guests, and I can tell you this with utter confidence. Upon check in, I told the staff that my boyfriend's birthday is on XX date. On such date, they called me and told me that they will be bringing a small gift to surprise him. At 12am, with my permission, they got him a small cake for his birthday. It was the sweetest thing, ever! Every night before bed, they pass you chocolates as a turn down service. The Anam is also sure to send you a daily email with info of the current movies playing at the cinemas, current promotions and things to do. If you like fishing, the hotel provides you with fishing and kayaking services for free as well. The one small thing they would improve on is perhaps the quality of the room service food. Other than that, my holiday is FANTASTIC, and it's all because of The Anam. Thank you & I will be sure to visit back again.
Atmosphere is so good. It's located right in the view of the beach. The staff was kind and the food was delicious. I liked it the best that I could eat delicious food in a good atmosphere. Hotel The Anam has the best restaurant.
Great view and fresh food. Lovely evening. If you stay this resort, visit this club.
