as a second time diner, first time the staff were amazing and the reason i went back, but then i was sharped let down!!! members of staff where rude and sassy, on there phone and generally being rude!!! to get there female manager involved to be even more rude!!! not worth the time or money!!!!
Been to this hotel a couple of times and the experience gets better. The staff are excellent, the front of house doorman really tries to make you feel at home and nothing is a bother. The evening was spent in the bar at the start and the staff there were just as friendly as the rest of the hotel. well done the County. I have also just booked for my daughter for a night out.
We decided to do something different this Boxing Day so we booked the Boxing Day ball. Fantastic event from start to finish, live band, dj, photobooth and a Monte Carlo area with loads going on. We had a great time on the racing car simulators and playing on the roulette tables. There were canapés coming out what seemed like all evening and a great buzz about the place. It wasn't your usual stuffy sit down ball but a huge party with a great atmosphere. Looking forward to attending again next year!
Myself and my family went to the county hotel for Christmas Day Lunch. Never make this mistake. The service was absolutely disgusting, the food even worse. we arrived and were meant to have canapes and prosecco on arrival which my husband had to ask for after we waited quite a while. then three starters arrived at the same time. I had to ask 3 staff members and eventually the manager for my son's starter which hasn't even been cooked when we had finished. next I had to ask for our mains. the meat was like leather and the Yorkshire pudding like cardboard. we asked for sauces and again I had to ask 3 staff members for this. we had finished the meal by the time they arrived. the staff then cleared the table of all cutlery and you can guess I had to ask for the pudding to which I was told well you have had it all your cutlery is gone. next cheese and coffee again I had to ask for. I spent the full day chasing rude staff and manager around. it totally ruined our Christmas day. we paid almost £200 and the apology was a glass of wine! we ended up spending almost 5 hours here for a lunch. disgusting all round. I would never return here!
Went to County Hotel in Newcastle for Christmas lunch, service was appalling, food not much better. Had to ask the staff at every stage of the meal to clear the table, and had to wait half an hour for main course after the first course. Not the sort of service I would expect from the County Hotel.
I chose to stay at the County Hotel, as I was attending a training course at the venue. I was met with respect, kindness and great customer service, throughout my stay. I would recommend this hotel as a comfortable environment, great location in the city centre, and would be happy to return in the future.
Clean room very small though issues connecting to wifi bathriom was tiny however hotel is central and the bed was comfy the staff were very gelpful and friendly would use again and would recommend was able to leave my case after checkout and collect later
Stayed one night for a xmas shopping spree, ideal location straight opposite train station, not far to carry your bags. Staff were extremely pleasant and helpful. We had a lovely room on 5th floor opposite train station and the view beyond was amazing. The room was comfortable and warm. Would definitely stay here again.
My friend and I booked two single rooms. On arrival at midday we were able to check into one of the rooms there and then which was really handy. The reception staff were really friendly and helpful. We returned later to check into my room which had been changed from the original number I was given. It seemed I had been upgraded to a double room. I was more than happy. I had a safe, iron and ironing board which for the price I paid (£117 for 2 nights) was impressive. There was a bit of noise the first night, mainly from other guests and people shouting outside, but hey it's in the centre of Newcastle and there were lots of Xmas parties on. My friend had the buffet breakfast which he said was lovely. The hotel has a lovely warm atmosphere and would definitely stay again.
Went here for lunch which was really nice chicken ciabatta with salad and a lovely glass of sauvingon blanc wine, great friendly service. The bar was very busy so I ate in the lovely dining room which I would recommend as it is spacious and quiet. There is a snack menu and a lunch menu available. Thank you I will be back.
