Staybridge Suites Newcastle4.0 out of 5.0

Having previously stayed a few years ago we decided to return to this great hotel for our recent anniversary but this time booked up to stay in one of the Suites with a King size bed. Both myself and my partner were very impressed with our suite, it was very clean, we had lots of space having a bedroom and a separate living area and lots of amenities. I cannot fault this place at all, you feel very welcome from the minute you arrive and we always have a good night's sleep. Definitely somewhere we will return.
Couldn't fault our stay. Spacious room with river view, great bed and bathroom (shower only), kitchen facilities, new furnishings, great breakfast included, free coffee and water in reception, friendly staff, plenty of car parking. What's not to like!!! Only (minor) criticism was that the advertised prices did not include Vat which is added at check out. Still great value for money though and 100% recommended.
Perfect location...10minute walk to town centre ...very clean ...quick and easy check in ...secure parking in hotel £8 for 24hrs ...lovely modern room...great breakfast...would 100% recommend...will be back if ever to stay in Newcastle in the future.
We are at the end of three nights here and have had a very good time. The apartments are in a great location 5 minutes from Quayside and 10 minutes walk from the city centre, are well equipped with ample kitchen facilities and a comfortable bed and our room, 601, had a lovely view over the river and the Tyne bridges. In additional to the usual provisions, the Suites provide a good breakfast, a pantry to buy food, wine etc., a laundry and ample secure parking at £8 a day. We will definitely look for Staybridge in other cities.
Last minute booking but a great choice, room great and plenty of safe parking. Check in was really smooth and Francesco was really helpful. Breakfast was good quality and staff worked hard. Really handy location for Quayside.
Return visit after several years and we were delighted to find that the great standards of service, room facilities, breakfast and evening social are still maintained. Location is a pleasant 20 minute walk to the centre along the quayside. Secure parking (£8pn) on site is also a great help. Would not look for another hotel in Newcastle..unless it's deservedly full of course!
My husband and I, along with our 11 month old daughter, have recently returned from a 2 night stay here (9 Jun-11 Jun 17). The hotel staff were very friendly, polite and welcoming and nothing was too much trouble. We had requested a cot to be provided in our room upon booking, and upon entering our room, one was ready and waiting, including linens. We stayed in Room 411 (King Studio) and it had a comfortable king size bed, a reclining sofa, tv, kitchenette with microwave oven, fridge, dishwasher, hob, kettle and toaster. The ensuite was of a decent size and housed a power shower. The room itself was very spacious, light and airy, and we had distance views of the Quayside- you could see the Baltic Art Gallery and the Millennium bridge from our window. The location of the hotel is really good for visiting local attractions and is only a short walk to the city centre. Breakfast was very good; there was a choice of a hot and cold breakfast (included in room rate) and it was unlimited, so you could go back as often as you liked. Tea and coffee was available 24/7 in the 'Hub' and there was also a well stocked 'Pantry', should you wish to stay local and not venture out to the nearby restaurants. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would consider staying again in the future. Many thanks again to all staff for a very pleasant and enjoyable stay.
We're staying at this hotel for 4 nights while working in Newcastle. It's really lovely, the room is great, partially self contained - communal laundry which is really well equipped. The breakfast is sensational- and there is a pantry to buy meals to self cater in your room and the small kitchen in the room is great. It's close to the Quayside but about a 20 min walk to town . We'd stay again, staff are lovely and the gym looks great - yet to actually use it
Okay, we will start with the positives. The staff are very good, knowledgeable and always happy to help, so top marks to the staff. The hotel is in a good location, with only a short walk to the Quay, where you will find a considerable array of good pubs and restaurant and some conveniently placed sightseeing/touristy attractions. So far, so good. Now for the Hotel…….. Somewhat overpriced, in my opinion for what’s on offer. The one bedroom suite, just be advised that you will need to crawl over the bed to get to the other side of the room. The room was directly facing a large block of flats, which in itself is not the fault of the hotel, but you have clear vision into these flats and no doubt the same situation is experienced by the tenants of these flats, but there are NO BLINDS in the hotel room, which results in curtains having to closed at various times during the day to protect one’s modesty. (Please invest in some blinds….) The windows are also totally sealed, so you can’t open them, this is extremely frustrating. However, what disappointed my wife and I was that despite emailing the Hotel to let them know we were celebrating our 24th anniversary, and having read that a previous guest was given a bottle of wine for celebrating a birthday, It was, and again it is only my opinion that this was poor customer practice on the part of the Hotel, in that they didn’t recognise such an important occasion. The hotel claimed to have upgraded our room from a King size studio to a standard one room, but the difference, having seen one of the King size studios, was negligible. Finally, the parking charge of £8 per night, is somewhat unreasonable, given that we had already paid £93 per night for accommodation. Also, can I ask why you lock the fridge in the breakfast area after 1030 am, which has the milk for the free tea and coffee (24hrs). It appears you are trying to save cost in certain areas, that are extremely noticeable, the result of which is directly impacting on potential repeat business. Sorry to be negative guys, I have to be honest in my feedback, but the place does have a studenty accomodation feel about it.
A large comfortable room, clean and light. Very good food- excellent breakfast and lovely choices for evening meals, including general awareness of GF needs. Good location for exploring the beautiful North East coast.
