The Westin New Orleans Canal Place

Close to major sites and attractions - still quiet and able to get away from the noise of the city. Breakfast buffet was ok.

Clean hotel in great location. It’s a 5 min walk to the French Quarter and a 2min walk to Harrah’s Casino. I will definitely stay at the Westin next time I visit NOLA again.

The maid service is touch and go at this place. Not coming until in the evening on some days! And one day not showing up at all! The place is an ok place overall but DEFINITELY not worth the price! I’ve stayed at way cheaper hotels that were nicer.

A nice property who has remained excellent through the years. Keep up the good work

Overall experience here was good. Staff was really friendly, good views. This hotel is close enough to Bourbon St, but far enough away that you can escape the craziness. Good gym Weird elevator system, and the hotel you can tell is older, but kept up okay.

Basic room with 2 double beds - somehow I missed that a "double" was literally 2 doubles/full, not 2 queens. Consequently, my husband and I had no room and got no sleep for the 2 nights we were there. (my mom was sharing our room prior to a cruise). Add to that the A/C positioned to blow directly in my face, the elevator racket (our room was right next to them) and street noise, well, it wasn't restful. They also slipped a letter under our door Sunday morning ASKING US TO LEAVE EARLY, with the promise of "free coffee" for our trouble, which turned out to be mini cups of brewed coffee opposite the checkout, with some creamers and flavored syrups. IMHO, that coffee service should be free anytime. Then they had the nerve to ask $22 for a BASIC breakfast buffet, which we skipped. Absolutely no amenities to speak of. No heavenly bed, no pool, no seating in your room, except the desk. I'll never recommend it, nor will I stay there again.

Checked in early and was given a room that was missing part of the bathroom handle and there was food left over in the fridge from the previous guest. Moved again 3 more times because each room was dirty, smelly and disgusting. A fire alarm went off making guests walk down the stairs (I was on the 25th flr), turns out it was a false alarm. No staff around, no apologies, no nothing!! This place is the absolute worst hotel. I will never stay at another Westin EVER!!!!!

A very well located hotel that provides excellent access to the French Quarter and all it's amenities. Had a large room that overlooked the city. Room service was very good and the staff is excellent. Room had some maintenance issues (handle on closet broken, crown molding cracked and loose, etc) but it is a solid Westin Hotel. It rained half the day Saturday, so have enclosed access to the high end shops and close access to Harrods was nice.

Friendly, helpful and professional staff, beautiful river views, walking distance to almost everything.

Difficult to find parking and get from parking to the hotel

Very helpful courteous staff. Clean, no bad views (we had 3 rooms), and heavenly beds indeed.

We were on the 19th floor overlooking the river and the French Quarter. Only stayed one night after staying 4 nights previously at another hotel during New Years and Sugar Bowl. We decided to stay an extra night in New Orleans due to the discounted rate after the holiday. We were not disappointed. Everyone was super nice and helpful, especially the gentleman at the front check in who assisted us with our luggage.

We had a great time. The Westin may be a little dated, but so what? It’s clean, convenient, and affordable. We had no problem with noise. Beds were so comfy, I almost didn’t wake up! Definitely will stay here again.

Only stayed one night. Hotel was very nice and convenient to the French Quarter.

Comfortable hotel with a good footprint near French quarter. Service of hotel is average at best. The amenities are poorly maintained. You get what you pay for.

I booked this hotel because it was pretty close to the French Quarter and was a great price. We had a great view, cleanish room and (for the most part) the staff were very pleasant. But that's where it all ended for me. Their elevators were constantly getting stuck (for reals though, I got stuck in the elevator for a minute, it was not cool) or were shaking because they were pretty old. On two separate occasions we tried to get into our room only to find our cards didn't work and had to get reprogrammed. The bathroom smelt...weird...just weird. Like musty or sour or something. And lastly, but worst of all, we got "checked out" at 4:30 in the morning on our last night and housekeeping kept walking into our room in the morning to kick us out. One of the staff started yelling about us in the hall over a radio to another staff member. I called the front and the woman at the front desk fixed this for me immediately and was accommodating. However I would neverrrrr stay here again!

Nice location, pretty walkable but the hotel didn't have much personality and our room wasn't cleaned despite being gone from 10:30 am to 7:30 pm. Great view of the Mississippi but otherwise expensive for what it is.

Great value and hotel. Close to everything. I highly recommend.

The hotel is located on top of an upscale shopping mall. Everything in the building is clean and in excellent condition. Our room had an excellent view of the river. The hotel is close to the French Quarter, and perfect for anyone that's visiting a show at the nearby House of Blues. Also, while there is valet parking, the building has a parking garage that costs $30.00 per day after taxes. It's a reasonable price for New Orleans and very convenient.
