Pool was not open. This was a main selling point for my vacation stay when choosing a hotel. Come to find out the pool is under renovation- but we were told we could use the le meridian hotels pool, which was a few blocks away. But who's going to want to do that- pack up everything for the pool and walk back 1/2 wet in bathing suit to the hotel?! Rooms were a nice size. Refridgerator in room was locked, we asked bellman after he dropped our bags to our room if he knew how to unlock it. He said he would send someone- that someone never showed up. The rooms do have a musty smell - probably from the high humidity in this area. Good views of city. Good location.
The hotel is nice but we were looking forward to relax at the pool and look out. But unfortunately it was closed for remodeling.
The hotel was beautiful, great location. Cons: no alarm clock in room, I called housekeeping first day they said they'll bring one up and I'm still waiting. No refrigerator but a empty space in the dresser for one. Room was very special but sparse with furniture.
Great location and view of the Mississippi River. Also, very near the French Quarter.
Everything was great. The bed, the room, the sheets, the view but especially the location.
The hotel is nice/ clean and staff was friendly... The front appears on canal street but he entrance is actually on the back on Iberville and check in is on the 11th floor...parking lot is on the side on Basdine street...
We had a nice stay. The bell hope/concierge/front desk staff were excellent and accommodating. We couldn't have asked for nicer, more helpful, folks.
The staff is great especially Don at the front door he is a good friend to me now
The woman at the front desk lied to my face 3 times. I reserved for a room with two double beds but they gave me one bed with a queen. This was their mistake, she Acknowledged that but since they were sold out she couldn't accommodate us. She lied and said they didn't offer rollaway beds, she lied and said they would give us complimentary breakfast for their mistake, and she also lied about having the room ready. It was just one lie after the other couples by a rude hotel manager who was the least bit accomating. Let me just mention that the room was prepared for 3 nights for $1300 and no refunds. After spending 3 hrs on the phone with Orbitz they were about to find us a room with our two bed requirement. I will NEVER stay at a Westin property again.
Stayed 5 nights, two couples in our sixties, experienced travelers. Check in was great, then needed to call room service to have mattress pad installed, needed new bottom sheet because it was for queen bed, we had a king. Duvet did not zip closed. Breakfast at hotel was extremely pricey for a breakfast, no coffee in lobby. Refrigerator gurgled all night, had to call room service to set clock, remote for TV was worn out, would not change channels up, only down. repairs to baseboards, tiles were not professionally done so there are globs of caulk or grout. couldn't figure out house phone system, ended up using it on speaker phone to call room service. no pool/hot tub explained "we have one but handicapped couldn't get up in there so they just closed it"
Love this hotel. I've stayed here several times and have never been disappointed.
Just as we are quick to criticize, we should be even quicker to akowledge exceptional customer service. The southern hospitality is genuine because you receive it every where, but the go getters, heavy hitters yall make it happen daily. Keep up the great work entire hotel staff!!!
People are friendly. Location is great. A few minutes of walking to Bourbon Street, ACME Oyster, Cafe Du Mont and all nice restaurants. Across the dtreet from Harrah's Casino.
Room seemed clean, nice view, but when going to bed came to realize bed sheets were dirty.

The hotel felt dated, elegant for the times it finds it self stuck in (1980ish). Staff was amazing, overall it was a pleasant stay but would find a more modern facility next time.
First, the good: the rooms (once you get one) are nice. At least our room was nice. Room service is quick, especially at late night. The bar in the 11th floor restaurant had the kindest servers imaginable. The bad: check-in was nightmarish. Process was moving very slowly; waited 2.5 hrs in person for a room. The people who decided to wait elsewhere waited even longer. (That I personally observed). The pool area serves a very limited menu, service is spotty up there. It is kind of removed from the Quarter, but close. Late at night, that distance can be painful. (Just a consideration for planning.) Some guests really don't respect the property. There is no reason to smell weed in the hallways. I know it's NOLA, but guys....respect your neighbors. The summary: not again, especially not on a weekend

Nice place. It's in Much nicer shape than when I was there in 2054. Enjoy it while you can.
Smoke alarm went off at 2:30 in the morning and we had to wait while someone came in to repair it. The pool was closed and we were unable to use it. We were told that the water bottles in the room were free but then they had a $4.00/bottle tag on them.
