The entrance to the hotel deceptively lovely. But once you're inside, you can see how run down everything is. Walls are literally crumbling at their edges. At least one of the two buildings never has hot water in the morning. And the front desk provides a planned set of excuses, none of which makes sense.

1. Was not told that I was being charged a daily "destination resort" fee of $25 plus tax. Which is taken from my incidental deposit. The receptionist made it seem like I was being rewarded for being a member and just rambling off things I could use while there. 2. I slipped and fell in the very small bathroom and bruised my leg. When the bathroom floor gets wet, it's very slippery. Change those tiles!!!! 3. The water pressure in the shower is ok because the showerhead is old and rusty. Upgrade the showerhead if you want to charge additional fees. I can also tell the shower floor does not get scrubbed clean. I had to clean it myself. 4. There was makeup on the wall in the room. Let's me know that the room is not thoroughly cleaned. 5. There are maybe 2 ice machines that work in the entire hotel. I was told to go to the other side of the hotel and to the highest floor there in order to get ice. Yet I'm being charged a so-called "destination fee"!

I stayed here in 2019, and it was a fantastic stay. I can’t say the same in 2025. It wasn’t terrible by any means. Despite the property being right on Bourbon, there was no noise from the street. However, we were woken up several times by intermittent plumbing noises, and were not necessarily light sleepers. It was also frigid in the rooms, and the thermostats are incorrect. We like sleeping in the cold, but we had to turn the thermostat up to 80 just to keep from shivering. The blankets provided are paper thin too. The showers had very little hot water and water pressure was iffy. The rooms were clean and the staff courteous. Valet was much more efficient in the off season than it is during the summer months. The rooms were clean, and the location is convenient. It is right on Bourbon and there’s two trolly stops across the way from the property. This isn’t the worst place to stay, but it has fallen off in the last few years. I plan on seeking different accommodations next time I’m in New Orleans. If you’re on a budget though, it’s not the worst place to stay.
