We liked hotel very much. Staff was so helpful and friendly. Always were looking for solutions ( for example how to park car if hotel's small parking lot is full. Very cozy breakfast. For us it was great because it is very close to various forms of public transport: train, subway, and bus. Close to restaurants, bakeries, and supermarkets. We enjoyed by staying here.
Great breakfast and very friendly staff make up for this place. It was very noisy and situated next to a train track and a busy road., no nap in the afternoon possible. At night (till 5:30) we slept well. Big bed and clean but outdated furniture. Nevertheless safe and again very good breakfast and friendly staff.
The services are ok. Nice hotel. Good service. Great for those who want tranquility, good service, and a good price. Very close to various forms of public transport: train, subway, and bus. Close to restaurants, bakeries, and supermarkets.
Pic.on website looks bit diffrent than is there in my opinion, good price and distance to beach, old style of hotel but clean, not safe and notnice area(dirty street)friendly and hepfull staff,I can recomended
Just returned to St Albans after staying at the Hotel Medici with my husband and our four children . We all thoroughly enjoyed the hotel : although not luxurious, the rooms were spacious, comfortable and clean. The buffet breakfast had enough variety and was substantial enough. The children enjoyed playing in the pool or relaxing on the balconies of their rooms (2 of the three rooms we booked had balconies which came as an unexpected bonus). Most of our dealings were with Maurizio and Rosa who were very friendly and efficient but , in fairness, all the staff are all very approachable and helpful. There was not too much to do in Bagnoli directly but the area was pleasant enough and with a supermarket, local restaurants and metro/ rail stations all within 10 minutes walk, it was a good base for trips into Naples etc. Jackie
We arrived after dark (around 9pm) and all the lights were off, even though the night manager was up. He could not speak English s make sure you can speak Italian. The room he gave us was pretty awful - smelly, fusty, and the air conditioning wasn't working. Parking is tight but pretty normal for Naples. Breakfast was ok. Good if you are on a very tight budget but I thought the photos were MUCH better than the reality.
Hello, This was a great cheap hotel, the people are verry nice, especialy Dario e Rafaelle and Maurizio, Raffaele always made the best Juventus Cofee ( Grazie ) Dario and Maurizio always answered and gave us tips about Napoli, and Rosa Thank u for cleaning always good the room, verry good Breakfast.
Pictures of rooms look better than reality, I did not expect 5* hotel, but floor should be more comfortable. Experience of "garden" room (room really looks like from garden house) heightened NT working Wi-Fi and no mobile services in room. Only one thing I really liked, was breakfast. Fresh croissants, coffee, cheese, bread, ... Everything you need.
The hotel is in a old restructured villa on Bagnoli street, near the sea. It is located close to the Agnano underground station which goes straight to the center of Naples (Montesanto station, last stop) in less than 30 minutes. That is one of the positives. The swiming pool, rather small, is in the back of the old building, where there is a small (free) parking lot for the customers. Unfortunately the hotel's back fence is next to the Cumana underground line and the noise coming from the trains is rather annoying. Luckily after 11pm and until dawn there are no trains so it is possible to have some quiet. The real positive aspect is the staff, really kind and helpful. Breakfast is ok, but more specific for Italian customers (sweets, cakes, sfogliatelle pastefrolle...and some salami and cheese). We stayed 2 nights at this hotel in a quite large and clean room and the only real problem was the noise produced by the trains. Unfortunately Bagnoli street is dirty to an unacceptable level for a civilized country...you should also pay attention to feaces of pets on sidewalks ...but that has nothing to do with Hotel Villa Medici. The hotel offers free WiFi connection.
We booked our 4 night stay at the Hotel Villa Medici because of generally good reviews and low cost. We were not disappointed with the hotel in general. All the reception staff were very friendly and helpful and our room, whilst somewhat dated and noisy from passing traffic, was perfectly adequate. We had a small kitchenette but nothing to cook with, not even a kettle. The pool was small and we were deterred from using it because it was covered in leaves. Breakfast was basic but enough for our needs and the coffee was particularly nice. However, we had a lengthy walk to the nearest Metro station along a litter strewn road with dog 'mess' prevalent. The Metro line was graffiti covered, both the trains and the stations. Indeed to get to the centre of Naples we had to catch a second Metro train as our line terminated at Montesanto, a long walk from Piazza Garibaldi and the seafront. Fortunately we spent 2 days travelling to Sorrento and Positano, both of which were much cleaner and more tourist orientated. That said, we would choose to stay in Naples again (in a different hotel nearer the centre) and travel by train down to Sorrento and by bus beyond there if we return.
