As soon as we arrived we wondered whether the pictures we had viewed online of this hotel, had in fact been taken elsewhere. Some of the furniture is dated and way past its best. The decor in places is not just old, but quite tatty. We were so disappointed with our room and the general decor, we didn’t even go to the pool. We asked our travel agent to move us. I suggest you read a good selection of the reviews before booking here. Wifi is free but not accessible from the room we were in. Location is not the best either. Although the pizza shop at the back of the hotel is popular with the locals and offered good choices.
We have just stayed at the Montespina for 4 nights following 2 night in Naples centre. Very enjoyable stay. All the staff are a credit to the hotel- extremely friendly and they could not do enough to help us. This was most welcome as we had found the staff in Our previous hotel to be very abrupt. Lots of great space outdoors whether you are looking for sun or shade. Very clean- comfy beds. We were given a couple of great recommendations for local restaurants and we were picked up. 30 minutes by tram into the centre- so you can have the best of both worlds- relaxing by the pool or sightseeing. Well done hotel Montespina and a big thank you to all the staff who made our stay do enjoyable.
Stayed here for one night only before our flight back home. I cannot recommend this hotel enough for the staff alone! All were friendly, happy and extremely helpful. Especially the lady on reception, she spent a good 20-30 minutes helping me to search into the best panoramic restaurants in the area to spend my birthday. She then organised three taxi rides all with fixed rates, she is such a lovely lady! Our room was big, very clean and homely... only wish we could of stayed longer. The food is also great! We liked that it was slightly out of the city - it has a very peaceful and tranquil vibe.
Small but immaculate room. Staff was wonderful. Dining room provides good meals. The pool is wonderful. Located a bit out (took us 45 - 50 minutes to get to the centro by train) but well worth the effort as it's peaceful and very quiet. A nice respite from the cacophony of Naples.
We stayed here for 4 nights, when we arrived the hotel staff were very welcoming and offered an upgrade to their beautiful jacuzzi suite for our first night. This was an incredible way to start our holiday and we really appreciated their kindness! Their pool and rooms are great, the only con is that they ask you to wear a swimming cap when swimming. Overall, the hotel is a relaxing escape from Naples city centre and we would definitely recommend to those looking for a relaxing holiday.
Paid for a quad room for 3 of us for the extra space but we're given a double with an extra single bed at first. When challenged, they did move us to a quad room which was very spacious but was a bit of a jaunt from the pool and reception. The room was basic but clean with good air conditioning. Gem was the pool which was great and very relaxing. Breakfast was good but was a bit predictable after the first day. We ate at the hotel restaurant for dinner and it was good if not spectacular. The saving grace was the staff in reception who were fantastic and couldn't have been more helpful. Particular praise for Fortuna who went out of her way on a number of occasions to help us with taxis, trips to the Amalfi coast etc and even sorted out Napoli football tickets. The wrong side for Pompei, Vesuvius and the Amalfi coast but for a quiet relaxing short break by a pool this hotel wouldn't be the worst choice.
We drove to Naples so had the flexibility to drive that little further tour of town for what we needed. The room was ok, a/c was good but dropped with water after a few hours of being on. Pool was great and breakfast wasn't too bad. The staff were ok, poolside food not fantastic but for a few nights as a base it was fine. I would stay there again but Naples in general seemed to be very run down so it's probably not that bad in comparison to others perhaps.
Stayed there for two weeks, our stay was just perfect ! The hotel is a bit far from the city center but it's the perfect place to relax thanks to the big swimming pool. There is a train who goes to the city center in 35 minutes (station Bagnoli). The food is great and there is a good choice in the menu. We were there for my sister's birthday and they made a chocolate cake for her with candles. A big thanks to Roberto, who was working in the restaurant, for his kindness and his professionalism ! We really appreciated his work.
Stayed here for four nights august 2017. First of all definitely not a 4 star hotel, rooms are very small and basic, no mirror except for a small one in the bathroom, walls are paper thin, making it difficult to get a good nights sleep. Dodgy plug sockets. Rooms are very far away from pool/reception need to take two lifts to get there. Had lunch and dinner in the restaurant but again not great quality and very tasteless!...hotel recommends on tripadvisor le due Palme as nearby restaurant, I can only imagine they do so, in order to turn you off ever leaving the hotel..food was terrible and not a nice area outside the hotel at all!! Metro is a good 15 min walk from the hotel again down a dodgy road. The main reason to stay here would be the pool area, it was nice and clean, good loungers, having to wear swimming cap was a little strange. Pool caps are €3 and you can rent pool towels for €2. The staff wer absolutely lovely. And the breakfast was very good. Taxi to Naples train station is set price of €24.
Great place to stay with very helpful staff. Place of tranquility in the madness of Naples. Not much close by so you have to get taxis although there is a fantastic pizza shop over the road. The pool is superb and the breakfast is great too.
