A run down building with very disappointing accommodation with a very dubious prior usage, note the sexually orientated photo’s in the b&b corridor. Functional but not where you want to stay.

This room was in an old building not far from the train station. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. The air conditioning was good. Breakfast was minimal, coffee and prepackaged sweets. We had a restaurant downstairs and several others within a five minute walk. It was a convenient hotel for getting to and from the train station

No hot water

Hotel looked great at first but there was no hot running water the morning I needed to check out. This meant travelling 15 hours home without a shower and smelling not so great. I would not recommend this hotel.

The challenge of Naples.

You need four keys to get in (which might give an indication of the area) then you need money for the elevator up to the third floor. Hotel charged me more than quoted.

Convenient but hard to find

The B&B Madison is on the Piazza Garibaldi which is currently a big construction zone directly opposite the entrance to the Central Napoli train station. Consequently, it's not easy getting around in that area, but walking isn't too bad. This will pass once the construction is completed. Finding the building was a challenge amid this mess, but finding the hotel itself was even more difficult. On the street, look for a sign that says "Clarean Hotel", just off the sidewalk. You want to go into the driveway there and then up the stairs or elevator (20 cents) on the left to the second floor. The staff was welcoming, which was nice and surprising after their persistent email contacts. But I was shocked when the front-desk clerk explained the FIVE keys. Many hotels utilize three keys, but five? Needless to say, they were somewhat bulky. But the room itself was OK, especially after I closed the curtains overlooking the "courtyard" and hanging laundry on every level. There was minimal space for storage and the bathroom was small. It was quiet, though, away from the street. The "breakfast" consisted of coffee and a croissant - pretty basic. There are many other options nearby. Some people might consider the immediate neighborhood shady or a little iffy. To me, it was just busy with people, mostly immigrants, trying to make a living. Having the train station right there mitigated, and was the likely the source of, this diversity.

The premise was not like what was advertised. The access to the room was through a very dirty and was not safe in our opinion. The room was not clean. The toilet didn't work properly, the shower leaked and was difficult to use. The sheets didn't appear clean.

BED BUGS but No Refund

We booked B&B Madison because it was very close to the Naples Train Station, for 4 nights, June 4 - 8. In the 5 minute walk from the train to the B&B, my husband was robbed of $200. When we got to the building, English-speaking Lucia was watching for us from the upstairs office window, & came down take us to our room. The building itself seem dark & dirty. The entry where I waited for the elevator was grimy, with questionable wiring visible. Our room appeared clean, bright & modern. The bathroom had a broken vanity mirror, no big deal. We slept well, but awoke to find 4 bed bugs in the bed. We were OUT OF THERE. At about 7:30 I knocked on the office door. I told the man that answered about the bed bugs, that we were leaving & I wanted a refund for the three nights. He didn't speak English, so he called a woman who apparently translates for them, but I don't think she understood about the bed bugs, she just asked if I wanted breakfast before we left. The man in the office tried to reach Lucia, but after 20 minutes I needed to leave to catch a tour bus. Finally with translation on our phones, the man said he still didn't understand what I wanted. I told him I wanted money back for the nights we weren't staying there. He said we paid Expedia, not B&B Madison, so I left. Back in the US I sent a message to B&B Madison requesting a refund, no response. I called Hotels.com; the cust srvc rep didn't get compensation for us, nor did Hotels.com offer.

Converted apartment flat.

Super great value!

The place is really quite a gem. A stone's throw from Napoli Central Station...the neighborhood is less than desirable...lots of construction and lots of people (but this is Napoli!) however inside, it's quiet, very clean, spacious room and bathroom, very nice people working there and a VERY nice price. I booked it at the very last minute (without time to investigate) and I was very pleased!

Easy stay near Napoli Centrale.

Nice accommodation close to the railway station. Everything was clean and adequate, staff affable and knowledgeable. The street to the hotel is a tad busy but noise doesn't bubble up to the room., and things die down around 6PM.

A hidden gem right by the train station.

Close to the Napoli Statione Central, upon first walking up to it we had some reservations. However, upon checking in, the staff was very courteous and efficient. The room was quaint, clean and good value for the money. The continental breakfast was good and the free bottled water was a bonus when we went on our daily excursions. The location is very central to most everything and we were able to walk or take the subway (which was right outside our door pretty much) every where. As Piazzia Girabaldi is undergoing a major fix up, the stretch in front of B&B is a little dicey but at no time did I feel unsafe. I would recommend this place to anyone!
