We stayed for 2 nights as part of a week long stay in Italy. I thought the hotel seemed a little expensive per night but having stayed and seen the others i was looking at I am really glad I booked this one. The hotel is a very good standard, the room was clean and comfortable and the wi--fi is good. Close to the metro station which is good for getting about and linking to the Circumvesuviana for Herculaneum and Pompeii. The hotel is really close to the Castel nuovo which is impressive. The breakfast was good but not excellent, the hot food selection was minimal and didn't seem to be cooked enough for us. The staff were helpful and friendly. Would definitely recommend.
A lovely hotel with comfy rooms, the staff were also really friendly and helpful making some great restaurant recommendations. The room was comfy, clean and good value. The hotel is in a lovely location on the Municipo square and close to the centre of Naples. We really enjoyed our stay here and can't thank the staff enough for their help and friendliness.
we had a 4 night stay in february . the front desk staff where very friendly and helpful ;they let us book in early.the room was very clean.with tea and coffee /tv /safe. we had a great breakfast .you could have a hot breakfast of beacon and eggs or cold one of cold meats /bread and fruit .
Rooms very small, some of which have a window overlooking a small passageway (therefore very gloomy). A warm welcom. In February, the bar and restaurant were only open on the Friday and Saturday evening . Very good breakfast.
***I emailed this message directly the Mercure 1st but received no reply!*** What an awful experience. Here are the main problems... The front deck was friendly enough but I was told there was an excess amount of over €100 to be paid. I stood my ground knowing this not to be the case and asked for the manager, I was then told I could go to my room for the problem to be sorted later, it then was, and I was right. No apology given. The room (414) wasn't very clean at all, there were hairs everywhere and tiny little bugs in the bathroom. Unfortunately when I woke up in the hotel I had come down with a stomach bug (nothing to do with the hotel) I tried to go out with my friend in the morning but quickly had to go back to my room where sadly I stayed for two days. I had a "do not disturb" sign on my door but that didn't stop the staff from knocking on my door followed by a phone call. I told them that I was sick and that I didn't what the room turned over but they phoned me again and were insistent. So I had to leave while ill! Because I couldn't leave my room (especially the 1st day) I had to order room service, I went for the lasagna one day and cabanara on the second, both were terribly awful tasted like the cheap microwaveable ready meals you get from a supermarket (in fact I'm sure that they were) I ordered the cabanara at 3pm and was told that the restaurant was closed but there was room service menu which started at noon, the person I was talking to was unaware of this and had to go find out. Also the restaurant was just awful. Was really gutted about all this, I expect more for mercure.
When you are abroad it is also nice to find people who are ready to help. Special thanks to Francesco, Giosuè, Andrea and Marcella from the front desk staff at Mercure Napoli Angioino Hotel. Congratulations for your excellent task!!
Hotel is very central, clean. Breakfast is excellent. Staff is very friendly and ready to help in any way. We needed a private taxi to take us around since the tour bus we had planned to go on let us down and they contacted Francesco who came to the rescue within 30 mins. He took us on our tour and gave us lots of information. He speaks very good English and was fun to be with. Will definitely go back to the hotel and also use Francesco's service on our next visit.
We were fortunate to have Privilege room 303 with a balcony which overlooked the road. The room was well-equipped (Nespresso, mini bar, gowns, toiletries etc). The road is very noisy but that added to the Neapolitan experience. Once the windows were closed however, the soundproofing was excellent. The staff was very friendly and efficient. There is no restaurant (although room service is available) and the temporary bar was closed (maybe due to it being Sunday or November). Il Chicco d'oro, the cafe next door, seemed to be open all of the time and served excellent food, pastries, gelato, beer and of course coffee. Breakfast in the hotel was extensive, including really excellent pastries, and we ate on the veranda overlooking the castle. The hotel is excellently positioned, just 300M from the final Alibus (airport transfer) stop, and just 150M from the Municipio metro. It was an easy-to-navigate 2KM walk to the main station at Piazza Garibaldi and a similar distance to Porta Norlana (to catch the Circumvestiana train to Pompeii). Spaccanapoli is 1KM away on a direct route or 2KM via the bustling Via Toledo. It felt safe walking to and from the hotel at night. Without question, we would stay here again if visiting Naples.
the hotel is very near the Port and the metro station and you can easily walk around. Rooms were confortable and the breakfast was good. ladys in the reception were helpful. very cosed to the University.
Great location with a lovely terrace overlooking Maschio Angioino castle. Room was ok with spacious bathroom. Wi-fi signal in our room was weak. Personnel was lovely and full of attention. A special mention to the chef and the food: Napoli is well known for its delicacies and this hotel's kitchen lives to the expectations
