The overall quality of the room was poor, such as cabinets, appliances, mattress, furniture etc. For the price they are charging, I would expect more. We could also hear the TV and music from the room next door. On a positive note, the breakfast was good.
Had i known that the hotel was under construction i would not have stayed there.
The walls in the room are paper thin. There are large gaps under the doors, you will hear everyone walking by. The room connects to another room and is separated by the door, so you can hear everything going on in the room next to you. On top of everything it is close to the railroad. If you want to get some sleep, book another hotel!
Location is nicely situated between downtown Napa and the wineries with easy access off highway 29. Our room had 2 queen beds and was situated right on Wine Country ave and next to the 29. There was some road noise as well as construction. The room was OK, looked dated with a few minor upgrades to some fixtures and new tile in the bath. The beds were very noisy and not very comfortable. The shower head needs a good cleaning, it just sprays everywhere (hard water build up?). The AC unit in the room wasn't working, but we just opened a window in the morning and that helped. The breakfast was about I was expected, think your typical Marriott breakfast, only slightly worse.
Went to wineries in the Rutherford area (frogs leap, round pound, peju) which was about 14 miles from hotel ($25 uber ride). Staff was friendly and allowed for last minute early check in. Rooms were clean and spacious. Would recommend. Also, free parking and breakfast!
The room itself was well kept and clean. The staff was cold and didn't smile. We were rudely awakened by a phone from the front desk accusing my husband an I of smoking marijuana!! I was offended and told the lady she could come to our room and see there is a mistake!!! She didn't acknowledge my response or invitation but rather proceeded to read the hotels "no smoking regulations and the consequences if the room smells the next day! Very rude lady and then just hangs up!!!
From the problems at check in to old towels and linen, to lack of cleaning the room properly, this is no longer a 3-star hotel. Paper-thin walls made for a noisy night and the phone wasn't even plugged in to call the front desk about loud wined-fueled drunks coming in a 2am. Disappointed Orbitz booking.
Convenient location but several ammonites in the room were not in working order from the toiled to the remote on the TV, needs some quality control here. Additionally the rooms are within 20 feet of a busy highway so the noise is constant all night long. The inclusive breakfast was not a pleasant experience. If I wanted to sit in a supply room, then I found the right spot. The breakfast room was stacked with all kinds of boxes and supplies and those were not even at least neatly arranged. The room looked as if it needed a total overhaul from masking tape holding up the temporary screens to table cloths that looked like they came out of some one's personal laundry basket. The food was either burned or overcooked on the buffet. Someone needs to get in there and get it organized like someone actually takes pride in how guest perceive the breakfast inclusive feature and certainly the presentation of food.
Excellent breakfasst. Place is a big large and impersonal. Police were called to a room as we were checking out. IT made me wonder about the people who stay at a place like this. But rooms were recently remodeled and clean. Very nice lobby. Lots of parking. It was close to many wineries and restaruants.
All well. Very peasant, nice breakfast option s, good people
The Good: The staff at the Ivy were very accommodating and professional. I had originally booked my room for two nights but after my first night's experience there, they agreed to cancel my second night without any additional charges. The location of the hotel is tough to beat. Centrally located and right next to Yountville. The Bad: Unfortunately, my room was not good at all. I had to stay there for a work trip and really needed a good night's sleep before a big day the next morning. The sink did not drain and the water was yellow. It subsequently overflowed onto the ground. The second I walked into the room, it smelled of mildew. I knew I couldn't complain too much for what I was paying for it, so I just got ready for bed. When I undid the comforter, there was a black hair on my sheets. Gross. I was so tired so I slept in the bed anyway. All throughout the night, I was constantly woken up by the sound of trucks driving by because the windows and walls were so thin. At one point, I even went to go check if the windows were open because it was so loud. Needless to say, I got less than 3 hours of sleep that night, I was miserable. Thank god they let me get out of my second night and I booked at the Westin instead. Well worth the extra money.
