For our purposes, this facility was wonderful--within easy access (by cab) to both the Island Bus Service and the Ferry Service.
Staff was friendly upon checking in. Our room was ready upon arrival as well. The hotel was very dated. Our room was clean but had a strange smell. Leaving the window open helped. The bathroom was no bigger than a oversized closet. The beds were very comfy. Overall the hotel was quiet. No gym and the pool was small. However the hot tub was sure nice after a long day.
First time in Nanaimo, my hotel was very convenient for me to visit my family. Grandkids and I had lots of fun in the pool and hot tub.
We were flying out of Nanaimo airport the next day and had a good nights sleep. Our room had 2 separate areas, a sleeping area and a couch area with microwave and fridge, which allowed my partner to sleep while I stayed up later. Each room had a tv which was nice. Early continental breakfast so had time at 6:15 a.m. for quick coffee and toast before leaving for the airport. Thank you!
Continuously happy with the service at this hotel. We stay here about 4-5 times a year because we travel to Nanaimo a lot.
We had a small problem with not being assigned a pet free room, but were promptly switched to a suitable room. Otherwise we enjoyed our stay. Perhaps consider extending breakfast service until 1030? The television did not have an HDMI connection. The couch was not comfortable to sit on.
this hotel is pet friendly which is nice, but it's pretty dingy overall. but not much choice in Nanaimo. the bathroom has been remodelled. It's noisy if there's people above you.
Nice clean friendly place to stay, great staff, One draw back is I am a regular repeat customer, every 4 weeks and I don't think I should be asked for my I.D.
The room smelled terrible and the carpet was wet. The ice box and bathroom were dirty, soap was open, dishes were dirty in kitchenette. Floor was so uneven in hallway that I tripped. Pool water was so murky I couldn't see my kid at the bottom in the shallow end. I am not a picky person and this is the first review I have ever felt I had to give for a hotel because it was that bad.
My husband wanted to give the hotel one star, but I'm giving it two. The hot tub jets were not working and they ran out of pool towels. The hotel is need of a facelift and repairs as the laundry was out of order too. As for the room, the pillows and beds were awful. However, I did like the flat screen TV in the sitting room and another in the bedroom. I really did not like the outdated bathroom with a cheap shower head, dingy & scratchy towels, and outdated look. Overall, it didn't feel clean. It is very kid friendly so a good place for families. However, I could hear every single child in the hallway while trying to sleep - loud talking, complaining, crying along with parents trying to shhh their child. With the uncomfortable bed, we did not have a good sleep and woke up cranky. The continental breakfast is sliced bread, mini muffins, bagels, juice machine, cereal and coffee along with make it yourself tea packs. Not worth it for the price we paid.
