Loved the location of this hotel, especially at the price. You don't even have to go above ground if you come in off the shinkansen--just go through the network of underground passages and malls to find Unimall and then take exit U11. You'll be standing right on front of it. The hotel is also conveniently located near two Family Marts, a Komeda Coffee (a Nagoya coffee and "morning set" staple), Yamachan (for Nagoya tebasaki chicken wings, but there's another shop across the street that I quite liked too), Hand Drip Hoshino Coffee, and for those who absolutely can't give it up, a Starbucks. By "convenient," I mean it was raining while I was in Nagoya and I went to all of these places without an Umbrella--sometimea without a jacket. The coffee shops are all in the underground Unimall and the hotel has a covered entrance--I spent less than 20 seconds in the rain. I should mention the hotel also has a cafe and several restaurants and bars as well. Can't comment as I didn't go to any of them. The rooms have a "old" sort of feel but everything was clean and comfortable. My room on the 12th floor had a great view of Sakura-dori (Sakura Street) . . . and the office building next door. Poor guys on the 10th and 11th floor were always working hard at night and on Saturday too. Anyway, awesome location, good price, and great staff. Would stay here again in a heartbeat.
We've stayed at a few Japanese hotels now and I can catagorically say that this hotel has the best breakfast and the most comfortable bed of all of them. I slept extremely well as the mattress was soft and comfortable and, wonder of wonders, it also had a sheet between the sleeper and the quilt! This was a miracle as in all other hotels if I've got too hot at night I've had to sleep uncovered. My only quibble is that all television stations were Japanese but this is the norm in Japan as the hotels don't seem to want to get US or UK cable channels. This can prove to be quite boring if you arrive in the hotel at 5pm as we did and there is a typhoon outside as there was! Nevertheless it is a very good hotel and I would definitely stay here again.
Good location – just a short walk from the train station. Big comfortable rooms. Small but functional bathroom. Strong shower. Robes. Nice TV corner (not much to watch in English). Decent Breakfast in room that is a bit outdated. Helpful staff. Very clean. Recommended.
Stayed only one night within our 6 day tour in Japan. Excellent location. Walking distance to Nagoya JR station. Not even 5 minutes walk. Comfortable and clean rooms. Many shops and restaurants nearby. Staff at the reception was warm & friendly. Of course - this is Japan !!
We stay in Castle plaza hotel for 1 night. This Old hotel but still clean. Near underground shopping centre (just walking infront the hotel). Room need some renovation (too old) but still clean, batroom small. Breakfast standard Free wifi
reasonable hotel. conveniently located accessible by Unimall, underground shopping mall from Nagoya station of JR, Meitetsu. Kintetsu and Subway lines. I didn't get wet though arriving on a rainy day. Plenty of restaurants and shops around,
We booked a room for three of us, and we're excited when we knew the room was much bigger than the one we stayed in Shinjuku. They provide tea, coffee, and sufficient amount of amenities. The bed is comfortable and the air con worked well. They served Japanese and western style of breakfast. The highlight of all is its location which was only five minutes walking from Nagoya main station.
This hotel was booked for us and we were quite disappointed. The lobby is nice but as soon as you step in the elevator there is a musty smell. First we got rooms on the smoking floor which was unbearable if you are a non smoker. Later on we got rooms on a higher floor but the combination of cigarettes kept on haunting us. The bathroom is tiny. I am sure there are plenty of other places to stay in Nagoya for this price.
First thing first like 4 star hotel it's expensive but it is in a great location. Few minutes till train station, half-hour till castle, science museum. Beds are quite soft (but I had nightmares and thoughts so I didn't sleep very well). Breakfast... We went to Rose Garden one. It had European breakfast with few Japanese accents but the other one is full Japanese breakfast. Reception is friendly and they speak good or mid-level English...
I am almost 2 meters tall and I felt like living in a doll's house. Well, we are in Japan. The room is perfectly located close to the railway station, is clean and offers everything you need for one or two nights on a business trip. In case you do not speak any Japanese, it can be challenging. Staff is very friendly. breakfast international and noting is bothersome. I will go there again during my next stay in Nagoya. When travelling back to the airport, don't forget to bring cash, otherwise you are not able to purchase tickets at the train station and taxi is less convenient and 10 times the price.
