Wonderful staff. Has everything..pools/ocean/basketball/fitness center/activities for kids.Pool bar & grill. Immaculate place. Had an oceanfront villa. Newly decorated. A wonderful Marriott resort. Wish it was closer to Charleston Airport.
This was our second visit to the resort this year. The staff is very welcoming and efficient. To a person they were friendly, helpful and polite. Any request was handled quickly and efficiently. Beautiful location, nice beach. Restaraunt and bar at the Marriott next door is reasonable and has good food.
We have been to OceanWatch for the last 11 years. It is an absolutely outstanding facility for families or couples. Beautiful villas, 2 great pool decks and the service is excellent. Beach is very clean and sand is great! One of the best Marriott properties in the country. Enjoy!
Amazing views, great rooms, entertaining activities for kids and adults, beautiful location on the beach with no riff raff or congestion. Exactly what you would expect from Marriott Vacation Club! Visited on Spring Break-- great pool area(s) (there are several!), spas, gym, grille, all centrally located close to shopping, grocery and dining options.
Awesome resort for couples/families, fun, and area food choices. This was our 2nd stay at this Marriott- both times in late April and early May. Perfect warm spring weather without the summer crowds and traffic. Our room was a 2 bedroom, 2 bath villa in the Scallops building which had an "ocean view" from our spacious 2nd floor patio, room 2021. We had our coffee on the patio in peaceful silence until the 8 am unloading of an 18 wheeler with a fork lift. Lots of noise below us! As for off premise restaurants, you've an almost unending variety for miles and miles, north and south of the property. The resort is typically top-notch Marriott - updated, well equipped and maintained. TIP - Besides being on the beach, all pools have heated water, if that's a concern for you. There are lots of activities at the resort. This is a great place for making couples or family memories - even if you only come once!
The rooms were very clean and spacious with great kitchens and sitting areas. Lovely balcony looking at the ocean. Check in was easy. They have plenty of pools and hot tubs - but the chairs are completely filled by 9am which is annoying. Go to the serenity pool you will always find a seat there pretty much. The beach was lovely although the lifeguards that are contracted out line the beach with chairs and umbrellas for $20 each and you have to buy 2 at $40. RIP OFF then they tell you you can bring your own umbrella and sit in front of their chairs. We bought chairs at the local beach store. Parking in the garage was not too bad. People were nice. The only staff member i didn't care for was the woman who sat at the Marriott vacation club desk. She was rude asking me if i was "married" "how much did I make" etc... while i understand those questions need to be asked, it was the way she asked them. I was a customer and she made me feel awful. NOT GOOD. Overall, I would go back, we liked it. Property well kept. Nice people all over.
Marriott vacation ownership will constantly tell you no rooms are available after purchase a cation ownership with them. The only resorts always available are the worst resorts they have in Orlando, FL.
Once again another great stay at Ocean Watch. They were painting the exterior but it was never an inconvenience. Nice to see that the resort is still maintained beautifully. We enjoy our "home away from home" each time we visit!
Loved staying at this Marriott resort. Great location on Grand Dunes. Lots of pools including a fun children's pool with slide and fountains and a Quiet pool for relaxing. Staff is helpful and friendly. Best if you go out to eat or cook your own as the grills are limited.
I had the pleasure of 2 trips here since January. On the first stay, I was in the Pines building, 10th floor. The unit was spacious and the view good. It was too cold to swim though. On the second visit, we had the Starfish unit, which is oceanfront and has a great view of the pool. I discovered the downside of that, as the noise from kids screaming in the pool is constant, from morning until close at 10pm. I couldn't enjoy the huge balcony due to the noise. Next time I will request one of the back side buildings. The pools and hot tubs were wonderful, especially the serenity, quiet pool. I have stayed at many upscale hotels and I was very impressed by the overall cleanliness and condition of both buildings and units I stayed in. It was like brand new! I enjoyed the activities and property tour as well. Looking forward to my next visit!
