WOW - this place was amazing! My parents are owners (not here) but traded and we will be returning in 2019. There is so much positive - where to begin... We travelled with 2 and 3 year old - the 2 bedroom villa was plenty of space. I love they have a daily service, so you always have clean - dry towels (midwest girl isn't use to humdity and everything being damp). The kids pool was perfect depth and temperature. I felt I could look away for 15 seconds and not have to worry. Our kids were in the water 75% of the time we were there. I would highly recommend all the activities that are offered - we were able to play in their giant lego land, make crafts, watch some cartoons and play with all there fun kitchen stuff. This was a nice break in teh heat of the day - one day we missed craft (didn't check calendar and times had changed) the people running the kids area got out some spares and our girls were able to make dragonflies! I appreciate them so much! The playground is fun - our kiddos were a little young but still enjoyed climbing There is a grocery store within "uber" distance or walking distance if you really want the exercise. Publix which wasn't overly pricey, the rooms have a big enough kitchen to cook meals and eat. I loved the balcony which we could see the ocean. The beds were comfortable, I love the buildings aren't packed full - you may see your "neighbors" a few times, but its relative quiet throughout the property even at the kids pool. Walk out to beach is clean, there are showers and storage areas available. You will need to rent chairs and umbrellas - $40 for the first day and it goes down after that for 2 - however, if you bring your own chairs/umbrellas it has to be behind the companies... There was plenty of room to play and walk the beach. No panhandlers, people selling things etc... which was nice being a female with 2 young kids. There is also a starbucks to hit on your way out to the beach or returning back! I can't say enough good things - we booked a return for June 2019! Don't miss out on this place and all the things it has to offer!!!
I have stayed at many Marriott and this one topped it. Great location, rooms beautiful.loved the pools, you could go to the adult only pools nice and relaxing and other pools great for families. I want to bring my grandkids next time. Plenty of things for kids to do. Whatever you decide to do it's great for anyone. Staff very friendly too. Will definitely be going back.
This is our 11th year staying at the Marriott! With Ocean front rooms the views are spectacular! There are many pool choices on the property fun for all ages. The Ocean is right in front of us. For 11 years now this is the lock off vacation to summer. The staff are extremely friendly and the facilities amazing. Craft center for the kiddos. We will surely be back next yeat and many years to come!
Brought a week from my friend at work and he warned me about this place. Once you experience this place there will be no other place you want to stay in myrtle beach... he was right... friendly staff and easy checking in... we were in the maple building on the 12 floor... Room was awesome, clean and spacious. Can see the ocean with no problem. It was maybe a 150 yards to the beach walking was no problem for me. My wife was a little worried because she had recent surgery in her knee . They offered courtesy ride to the beach . That is a big plus... There were red shirts everywhere and really watch after all the guests... they keep orders around the pool and other areas. The pools are clean and no floating pizza around... The grounds are clean and beautiful. Love the pool bar and their frozen drinks. The daily drink specials is a plus. The wait staff and bar tenders were very friendly and happy. Plenty of kids activities and treats everyday... Love the ice cream time and s'mores (Free) Love the dive in movie time. (Free) Love the exercise room and free classes. Will be returning for sure...
We are owners at Marriott's OceanWatch Villas at Grande Dunes - a private resort. If you love the beach, the Grand Strand is beautiful. If you have kids, lots of activities and fun things besides the beach. Everything about the place is great. My favorite is the Serenity Pool. A salt water pool for relaxing - no kids allowed, no loud talking, etc. Lots of great restaurants in the area. Villas are completely furnished including pots and pans, etc so if you want to cook and save some dollars--that is an option as well. My only advice is not to go during Biker's week -- last two weeks in May. It is not a problem but if you are not into motorcycles--you might find it a pain as they are all over the place. We have been going to OceanWatch for 9 years. We have traveled to other Marriott resorts, however, OceanWatch is still our favorite.
Spent a week at the resort, we are owners of Marriott but this was our first visit to OceanWatch. We had our three grandchildren with us, so much to do not only for kids but for adults also. The staff is excellent, due some rainy days they changed the activities at the drop of a hat so everyone would still have a great time. There are so many pools something for everyone. The rooms are 2 bedrooms 2 baths plenty of room for everyone, clean & comfortable even has a washer dryer. Full kitchen with oven & everything you need for eating in. We had an ocean side room on the 4th floor in the Conch building, good view of the ocean & looking over the swimming pool at the Marriott Hotel which was next door. We never had any problems with parking or getting seats at any of the pools. We have booked again next year & are looking forward to it.
I'll admit I am not a fan of Myrtle Beach, so when a friend invited me here for a girls' trip, I was not expecting much. Boy, was I surprised! The location of this property isolates it from the touristy bustle of MB. The grounds are beautiful, the beach in front is pristine, and the amenities of the property are all we could have wanted. We took advantage of the fitness center, many of the group fitness classes (especially yoga, stretch, and water exercise), the pool, the essential oils class, the poolside bar & lunch there, the little "convenience store" on site, and more. As far as our two-bedroom unit, it was well-appointed with comfy beds, adequate linens, and plenty of kitchen items. I would return here again and again.
We really enjoyed our stay here. We were given a room on the third floor of the Pines Building. We traded a week with Interval International, and were told, by letter, two weeks before check in that most Interval trades are given a room in the back buildings on lower floors. Although we had hoped for a higher floor with a view of the ocean, it was not meant to be. That's ok, we had a beautifully decorated room, and I liked the back buildings, as we were close to the parking garage, and had the quiet pool and bbq grills right outside. The ocean walk was only 5-6 minutes, and a shuttle (golf cart)was available for those wanting to ride. We absolutely loved the ocean location. We had such a great time and really want to come back. As West Coasters, we usually go to Southern California or Hawaii, but this was a first, and not last, trip to Myrtle Beach. This place is really special. Thank you for having us !!
We have stayed at this resort before but this time the staff went above and beyond. We had two grandchildren with birthdays and the staff made sure it was memorable. We highly recommend this resort to anyone seeking a unique place to stay
The Villa was wonderful. The grounds and amenities were extremely accommodating. Smores and the tree house play ground for my sons made it even better. The pools were comfortably warm and beautiful. We will be returning!!!
