Lovely - typically Greek hotel, location is good as only 10 minutes walk to town, although it is a steep climb back! Be wary if you don't like steps as there are loads to negotiate at this location - also if you do use the road out of the front of the hotel, it is very busy with traffic so be careful ! Having said that its good exercise! I was a bit wary that we had booked here having read quite a few negative reviews but a lot of them are a bit ott to be honest - I know people can have issues but I have to speak as I find - this is typically Greek, its not a 4/5 star establishment as we know it but to me, that's what makes Greece special! The room was clean and had a fantastic king size bed which was VERY comfy, the bathroom was bijou as they always seem to be but the shower area was quite large and always had plenty of hot water with great water pressure - the tiles in the shower were very slippy though, could have done with a bathmat so beware! Breakfast was great I thought, they did run out of a few things if you went towards the end of service but hey, you ain't gonna starve!! Considering they serve it from 8am to 11am they do pretty well and I have to say, the eggs were better than in some English buffet breakfasts! Someone on here complained about lack of choice etc but one morning my hubby observed a Chinese gentleman helping himself to SIX fried eggs which he promptly ate all of the whites and left the yolks so if people are gonna be greedy, that's why they run out!!! You can sit outside too which is nice. Maid service is after 1400/1500 some days so be wary if you want to siesta in your room after these times. The towels and sheets are changed most days which seems a bit wasteful as they do ask you to leave a card on the bed and towels on the floor if you want them changed - they seemed to do their own thing though! Our room overlooked the water with a view of the harbour in the distance - it was really nice - some of the rooms to the right of ours - on the same side as the swimming pool - would have had the same view but with the big car park in front so beware if you don't want that view! Also, there are not many sunbeds and only a few in the shade so although I love the pool I could only stay a short time as I prefer shade - these beds have towels on them from the early hours so its pot luck if you get one. Some of the staff at breakfast seemed a bit indifferent and not as pleasant as I would have expected but most of the others were fine - we would definately stay here again - I was pleasantly surprised at how lovely it was after reading some of the reviews on here - I can only assume the negative ones were people who either had major issues or expected more from a Greek hotel! Definately ok in my book.
We booked as part of a package deal, and not separately (I've seen other reviewers pay €300-€400 per night which seems a bit high), but this place was FANTASTIC! The views from this place are spectacular, and the close proximity to Old Port means you can easily get to the shops, restaurants, bars, and docks on foot in about 5-10 minutes. The staff is super friendly and accommodating, some of the nicest people we met on our island-hopping trip! When we checked in at the reception, Gregory and Emma were very gracious and let us know our room wasn't ready yet, but held our luggage for us so we could explore Old Port and grab some food (there are a bunch of great restaurants, bars, ice cream, and other places around). Once we got back, they actually made us an offer to stay at their sister-resort on the island, Pietra & Mare. Even though it seemed like a setback, they handled the experience wonderfully with free transfers and dinner. The rooms aren't 5-star, but you're on an amazing island, so we didn't spend too much time in them. The pool is awesome and has great views, as does the balcony in front of reception and the dining room. Breakfast is not bad, but for what they're charging on the island for food, it's a great inclusion. All in all, fantastic place to stay with amazing staff. Would definitely book again if I had the chance.
This hotel is incredible; we enjoyed our stay here. Upon the first arrival, there was an issue with our booking, and something happened on their end to not have a booking for one of the nights. So they booked us in a room close by the hotel at the same star rating, they drove us over and picked us up the next day. They offered us a free dinner at their restaurant to apologise for the event. The room we received was fantastic - we had a great balcony that overlooked Mykonos town. The pool was great, and the staff at the pool bar were so helpful and had excellent service. I would highly recommend staying at Porto Mykonos; I will be coming back!
Great hotel just off of the downtown area, nice and quiet. Walking distance to everything. Very clean hotel and great staff. Our room was so nice, exactly what I wanted in Greece. Great views from everywhere. Breakfast was great too.
This hotel does have a great location. We were in a room with a deck with chairs and a table. We could view most of Mykonos town and where the yachts dock. We were lucky to face that way, since many faced directly out to sea and at the large parking lot. Our room was small, but it had a huge king size bed. I really liked it. It had the wood beams and the blue and white theme. We had a safe as well. The washroom was pretty small, but the shower had awesome water pressure. It was the first hotel with a blowdryer right beside the bedroom mirror and it was a good one. You do need to get out to the pool early to get the shaded beds and there were people that put out towels and just left for hours. If you are gone more than 1/2 hour your bed is fair game in my book. Thoughtless. The only other negative was the breakfast. They had a bowl of watermelon and honeydew melon all cut up in these odd chunks. My only explanation is that they keep the odds and ends they used for the ordered food throughout the day to put out at breakfast. The croissants looked like pillsbury turnover versions. Very odd. My recommendation to the breakfast staff is to check out you tube to set out an appealing breakfast buffet. It will even show how to cut fruit. I have used it myself.
If there is a place on Earth that can describe the paradise, it is definitely this one. Everything is wonderful: the room are decorated with taste inspiring the island's beauty, the pool and the view are outstanding, the dish prepared by the chef are colourful and delicious as the sunset in front of you and the staff is making you feel welcome and comfortable at any moment. This combination leaves me the best memories of my stay and I will absolutely spend more time in this place with my family next year to share with them what I simply call PERFECTION !!!
My husband and I booked a room at Porto Mykonos while on our honeymoon. The location is perfect for visiting Mykonos town. It is just a five minute walk. The staff was also extremely helpful and friendly. We were disappointed in our room. It was very small and the bathroom was even smaller. Our patio was nice however it offered no privacy and while it had sea views, the view was mostly of a large parking lot. Also their wifi connection barely works. For the amount we paid for this hotel, I don't know if I'd recommend it. However we did love how easy it was to get to town and the staff.
To get away from the Athens heat, we made the mistake of booking this hotel through Fantasy Travel last minute instead of checking TripAdvisor. Paying over 400euros a night per room (2 rooms) we expected fabulous - instead we got horrible. Cosmetically, it looks beautiful in photos and in some outdoor areas it is gorgeous but don't be fooled. Please read the following comments with the understanding that we only complained directly to the hotel once about wifi and were polite so there was no reason to treat us poorly. We were actually afraid to talk to the staff about our issues because they were so unfriendly .(We arrived late in the evening and after a night of poor sleep (see the wet spot issue below), contacted Fantasy Travel early morning to ask if there was some mistake about the hotel or our room. After waiting a whole business day, they finally got back to us to say there was no mistake and that we had actually been "upgraded"!!??). Our comments: - At check in, the woman made a big speech about how we would be charged if we lost our cards for pool towels (we had to have a card to get a pool towel!), towels or keys. Never have we had this kind of lecture at a nice hotel. -Tiny rooms and bathrooms (my bathroom was 2 feet by 3 feet with old plumbing), not enough electrical sockets, wifi not working 98% of the time, view of port but mostly large parking lot, uncomfortable bed (ours had a wet spot!), sheets were not changed by housekeeping -The worst breakfast in all our travels through Europe and Greece. Also, while most hotels have a cappuccino/espresso maker, staff said we would have to pay extra for these drinks (really? when we are paying 450 euros per room?) -Most egregious is the service. No one smiles, Very unfriendly. The atmosphere is so uncomfortable - guests look miserable. Probably feeling as cheated as we did. Thought about talking to staff about our issues but after they brushed off our complaint about wifi, did not even try. - Stray dogs and cats wandering around. We love animals but in this gloomy and dark atmosphere it was unwelcome. - When we checked out, we wanted to leave our bags at the hotel since our flight was late. I asked for a bag claim check but they refused so I had to take a photo of our bags to have some proof that we were leaving them with the hotel! When we returned, our bags had been shoved to a corner in the lobby and were not in a secure room. Granted, Mykonos is expensive and a tourist trap but there is no excuse for poor service. We stayed a week in Santorini at a nice hotel that was comparably priced but the staff was fabulous. In Mykonos this hotel was so horrible, we ended up spending all day and all night at the beaches and in town just so we wouldn't have to return to the hotel and use the facilities or be in the glum, unfriendly atmosphere - and we were paying over 800 euros a night for 2 rooms. Service was much better at our hotel in Athens as well that was less than half the price. Will never stay at this hotel or use Fantasy Travel again.
This hotel is located at the old port of Mykonos, an ideal location in my opinion. Upon arrival my room was not ready so I enjoyed the complimentary breakfast. The hotel staff were extremely pleasant and helpful, Emma & Kelly were two of my favorites along with their male co-worker, as well as the other staff member who brought me to the new port when I missed my shuttle (thank you again!) whose names I did not get. While waiting for my room I was able to head into the city on foot and venture all the way up to the windmills, which was a lovely site and not too crowded at the time. As a solo traveler my room was more than satisfactory. Clean, spacious, and a beautiful view of the sea. I was even able to watch the sunset from my bed which was amazing. My only advice for the hotel would be maybe invest in longer shower curtains so the floors won't get so wet. If you want to enjoy breakfast on the balconies, either get there early or get there late because in between it will be crowded with other guests trying to enjoy breakfast with a view as well. I'm an active individual, so the hotel location was ideal for me, it was no issue for s to walk to Fabrica and catch any bus to any of the beaches, or to hang out late at night at any of the bars in town and walk back to my room at any hour of night. I didn't at anytime feel unsafe walking back to the hotel, whether it was 2pm or 4am.
Very poor breakfast, noisy aircon, uninterested reception staff, poor value at £400 per night. Nothing like the hotel we visited 10 years ago. Should have read the reviews before booking. Will remember to do so next time we're booking a hotel!!
