My mom and I were happy to find this Bed and Breakfast for a last minute overnight stay in Grand Haven. The views are probably among the best in town. It has a great, private location and parking. You are directly across from the beach and lighthouse. Downtown shopping is only a mile walk. Our room had plenty of space for both of us with a nice bathroom. Very clean! Breakfast was great! Our host, Brian, gave great recommendations for the area. Thank you for a wonderful stay!

My wife and I returned to the Looking Glass B and B after a three year absence. Brian the new owner has made several upgrades to the property and it is beautiful. We request the Sand Room which faces the west and offers a great view of the lake. Brian prepares a wonderful breakfast that provides for a great start to check out Grand Haven. The deck has the best view of sunsets. You have a great oppportunity to meet new people and share conversations over breakfast or sitting on the deck. Parking and free wifi are on site for the guests. Thank you Brian for a great stay.

Initially we were disappointed as it seemed the pictures weren’t what we found. The room was small, fairly sparse. It didn’t have the amenities we enjoy. However, the view was amazing. We enjoyed quiet evenings on the deck enjoying beautiful sunsets with a glass of wine. The breakfasts were good, fairly basic. The stairway is long, good exercise! The very old lift worked fine if the stairs aren’t an option. Love the proximity to the beach, the views, but would like to see more comfort, books, magazines, blankets.

The home is amazing! Situated on top of a 6-story dune, the Looking Glass B&B is very homey and inviting. The views are spectacular. We really appreciated the extra amenities that were available such as beach chairs and beach towels! This was our kids' (ages 13 and 14) first B & B experience, and we couldn't have had a more perfect (Dunegrass) room. Brian was a friendly and accommodating host. Meals were delicious and there were always snacks and beverages available for us. We appreciated the selection of DVDs and family games, which were great in the evening!

My husband and I recently stayed two nights for a quick beach vacation in celebration of our anniversary. We picked Looking Glass B and B based on all the great reviews and its location across the street from the beach. We couldn’t have picked a better place! Our number one desire for the weekend was beach time, and we couldn’t have gotten closer if we tried - and the view was stunning! I could’ve spent the entire weekend on the deck! Brian and Sarah were lovely hosts. They had great suggestions for restaurants and non-beach activities. The amenities were a pleasant surprise and were very thoughtful! All in all, we couldn’t have been happier with our stay and highly recommend this gem!

We came to Grand Haven for a little R&R and to celebrate our anniversary. The Looking Glass does not disappoint! The views are spectacular, the accommodations are super clean, staff and owner are extremely hospitable, friendly and helpful. You cannot get closer to Lake Michigan or the beach! They go above and beyond to ensure a pleasurable stay. We can’t wait to come back with our kids some day and will definitely recommend this to our family and friends! Thank you again, Brian & the rest of The Looking Glass staff for your exceptional hospitality!

I am happy to recommend the Looking Glass Bed and Breakfast: My old high school chums and I came together 58 years after graduation to hold a group birthday celebration and salute getting back together. The Looking Glass Bed and Breakfast was the perfect venue for our four days in Grand Haven MI. The owner, Brian, runs a first class operation in a charming old house, delightfully and comfortably furnished and well suited to our tastes. We had the run of the house and access to all the common areas, including the beautiful front deck with its unobstructed views of Lake Michigan. One thing that needs to be mentioned: the house sits at the top of a steep hill. The only access is to walk up 71 stairs or to take the electrically operated railway car (funicular). Brian has the only one on this side of the hill. Not a bad walk, if you are in shape. Always the congenial host, Brian bent over backwards to accommodate our group. He was attentive to our needs and eager to make our stay as enjoyable as possible. We were smacking our lips over his delicious breakfasts, served hot and promptly prepared each morning. We were given our own refrigerator space for group meals and he allowed us to hold daily Happy Hour. Enjoying snacks and a glass of wine, we enjoyed the incredible vistas through the wide picture windows, the perfect backdrop for photos. We quickly became captive to the delights of this beach front property. He even gave the okay for a small musical group to come to entertain us on our final night cookout on the deck. When evening chill settled in, we were comfortably ensconced into the commodious living room. At our invitation, he brought his wife and toddler to join us for the meal and the music. Thus we all danced, sang and partied with abandon in the face of a glorious sunset to end a most convivial and memorable vacation.

Brian (the owner) is a FABULOUS host. He makes you feel as if the Looking Glass Bed and Breakfast is YOUR home. So welcoming, beautiful, relaxing and comfortable. He makes you feel much more than simply a guest. Looking Glass Bed and Breakfast is IMPECCABLY CLEAN!

Fabulous weekend at Looking Glass! Brian and his family were amazing hosts...our “Water” room had a million dollar view (see photo!), the food was delicious, the house has wonderful amenities, and Brian offered many great local tips and recommendations for our weekend! We will definitely be back and loved the house and our hosts!

The Inn is at the top of a steep hill. There is a funicular to get luggage up & down. The owner, Brian, is very friendly and organized. And he prepares a great breakfast. We stayed in the Water Room, which had a beautiful view over Lake Michigan. The bed was very comfortable. The sound insulation was impressive; we never heard noise from other rooms. The beach is across the street, and downtown Grand Haven is easy walking distance.
