Radisson Blu Hotel, Muscat

Staff friendly and attentive, explaining well too. Hotel is in ideal place for business and tourism. Nearby available cafes and restaurants but what not to be missed are the cafe and restaurants of the hotel.

We stayed here for 2 nights, it is a clean and comfortable solid 4* hotel. Staff are pleasant, food is good. Get a room on the 5th floor so you get access to the free drinks and nibbles in the evening. Pool is rather overlooked by the flyover, but no big issue. The cigar lounge is a bit dark, but the prices are very reasonable. Overall I would give it a thumbs up as a base for a day or two in Muscat, for any longer you might wish to go elsewhere.

Room and staff fine, restaurant environment not up to usual Radisson standards, could do with a menu refresh and a décor refresh especially the terrace lighting and piped music. Themed food nights pretty good though.

The hotel is very centrally located, in close proximity to the airport and beaches. The staff from the front desk (Trevor in particular) and the breakfast and room staff are so friendly and a credit to the hotel. They even organised an Easter Egg gift in 35 degrees for children! The pool is family friendly and there is a bar that sells food and drinks adjacent. The restaurant is a bit pricey for a family however the selection of food is amazing. As a family we used to visit any of the restaurants opposite (the Lebanese even cooked and bought pasta especially for our daughter) and the Turkish restaurant on the parade around the corner is superb. There is a direct taxi service from the hotel which is comparable to the flag down road service and Sulaiman especially is informative to local trips and places to visit. Hope to return again soon!

Was worth the upgrade to a suite (with some negotiating) - which provided for a larger room / bathroom, scrumtious buffet breaky (that ends 10.30am) and drinks + 'nibbles' in the Club Room for 2 hours in the evening. This was enough for us, enough as a meal. Try the quiche at breaky + desserts in the Club Room. Soft drink, bisucuits and coffee / tea also available all day under this 'package'. Enjoyable pool area - and plenty of taxis nearby - and can get to the marina area for 6-7 Rial. Staff helpful, although some stuggled a bit with the English language. A solid 4 star hotel by western standards - would return (at the right price), for sure.

We stayed here a couple of times on our trip through Oman. The rooms are a little dated but clean and comfortable. Nice quality bathrooms. Staff were very friendly and helpful especially Mr Singh. There is a small grocery store next door in the back parking lot and good restaurants nearby. Al Jood and Indispice were very good. Did not like the much touted Turkish house. Overall this is a good solid choice for travelers. Recommended by Oldbackpack

My husband, son and myself arrived this past Saturday a bit early. We were able to check in even though it was not quite check-in time. We ended up having lunch in Olivo's and returned a number of times throughout our stay for breakfast and dinner. The entire staff were the absolute best. I have nothing bad to say about the level of professionalism and courtesy we received. From the front desk, to the gift shop to the restaurant staff. SUPERB!!! The only thing that I will do the next time we visit (I told my husband next time we don't need to look to stay anywhere else) is get and adjoining room for our son. He's getting to the age where he is taking up more room!! I will recommend Radission Blu to my friends who are thinking of visting Muscat in the future. Thank you all for showing us the best of your great country!!!

This hotel is a credit to the Radisson family. Front-desk staff are efficient, knowledgeable, courteous and the very definition of professional - all with a happy smile. Very special thanks to Rozalina and Ahmed on front-desk. Gym is a little crowded with equipment but it's clean and bright, like the rooms, which are small but neatly presented. The in-house restaurant and bar at the pool-side felt relaxing and welcoming. Good quality breakfast and cheerful staff really made breakfast and dinner an occasion. Highly recommended if you need a base in Muscat on arrival before starting a tour or conference.

We booked 2 rooms - business class for me and my wife and a standard for my 16 year old son. There wasn't much difference between them - except we had a coffee making machine in our room, we overlooked the pool and we had access to the business lounge. I wouldn't get too excited about the business lounge though - it's a smallish room on the 5th floor with soft drinks and occasional food plus a TV screen and computer. Hotel was nice enough - city center location so lots of restaurants and shops nearby but the malls and other major attractions all require a taxi. the hotels own taxis are expensive (no surprise) so hail a local one and negotiate the price. We got ripped off a couple of times because we had no idea what was reasonable to the location we wanted to go to but eventually we got wise. Pool area is pleasant but be aware that between 3-6pm most days they stop serving alcohol (probably the same elsewhere). Likewise, Olivos Restaurant where you get your breakfast is also very nice but they can be a bit slow at clearing the tables and resetting for the next guests. There is an "Irish" bar, O'Malleys, in the basement of the hotel which again is nice enough though a bit dark for my liking. Staff are all very friendly and professional and overall I'd say it's a decent place to stay if you are happy with a city-center location for up to a week.

I stayed at the Radisson Blue Muscat several times and I am usually pleased and happy with my stay. The hotel is nothing like the big ultra-luxury hotels in the Middle East, but it offers a solid standard with friendly staff. Rooms are decent and bathrooms serve their purpose. Free Wifi and a small garden with a neat pool with a pleasant sitting area. Small meals and drinks are served at the pool. Gym a bit dated, but acceptable. Good hotel for a short stay in Muscat.
