Radisson Blu Hotel, Muscat

My wife decided to go on a ladies night yesterday 13th November to the "Lazy Lizard" in Radisson Blu Muscat. She arrived first and was seated. Her friends arrived 15 minutes later and were denied entry claiming that it was Couples only Night. Then the security approached my wife and requested her to leave the place since its couples only night (as per the security) but wasn't the case as per the duty manager as well as the crowd available as they couldn't spot any single couple. The duty manager didn't even bother to explain or fix the situation. They were even asked for the ID Cards and where challenged by the security to escalate the matter. A group of mothers decided to hang out but got a very bad treatment at "what is supposed to be an international chain operating on international standards". That hotel has serious issues to sort out but do not have the right to treat respectful ladies like that. Till now I cant explain the behavior. That's not what hospitality is about!!!!!! Totally Disturbed from the treatment.

I stayed here on business. It is a lovely hotel which was quiet, clean and well-appointed. I particularly liked the pool. Service was good and breakfast was lovely. I didn't get the opportunity to have dinner.

Good location. Great bar and pool. Lovely rooms and facilities. High recommended for tourists, family and business events. Accessible to malls, restaurant and within the city. Professional staff and good service.

I made a short visit to this hotel where I enjoyed a drink with my father at the pool bar, after an exhausting flight followed by a busy day. Nothing more to say, as I didn't check-in to see the rooms.

Just came back from staying 6 nights at the Radisson Blu on a business/golfing trip. The positives:friendly staff, throughout the hotel and nothing too much of a problem for them with a special mention going to Sam on the front desk.Great pool area with bar, ideal for chilling out after a hard day´s travel, a very well equipped gym, excellent breakfast buffet, rooms a decent size and well cleaned, central location with local resaurants nearby. Not many negatives ,but lukewarm water from the shower at 6 am, roads surrounding the hotel are not pedestrian friendly( but that's probably true of most of Muscat)had to pay for breakfast, but despite that ,the hotel is still very good value.

I was with my family for one night. I booked two rooms but did not request for connected room when i booked the hotel. When i Arrived Mr. Ahmed S from front desk did Everything in his hands so I could have a connected room. Thx. Overall Nice hotel. Close to many practical shops and restaurant. Grand Muscat mall is Maybe 5 mins away in car. Pool was also good. Breakfast was disapointing. Not so much to choose.

We specifically requested a quiet room so we were given one above the pool where a band had set up for the weekly Brai. We got moved (after reminding the front desk) to the front of the hotel to an equally noisy room facing Arab restaurants. Are there no designated "Quiet" rooms.

The front desk were not very knowledgeable about places in and around Muscat and consequently unhelpful when it came to finding places. We had hired a car and downloaded maps onto our phones and managed to make our way around the sites and restaurants very efficiently on our own. Poolside restaurant good for lunch on arrival and rooms small and basic but what we paid for. Avoid room next to the lifts, a mistake on our part as there was quite a lot of noise outside it. Breakfast was well worth it and the best selection of food seen in the previous 10 days of hotel breakfasts! The gym was very well kitted out and the Irish bar fine but a bit soulless. Location good and dinner very locally at the Turkish House Restaurant was more than worth the short walk there. On our last night someone, a member of staff it transpired, entered my son's bedroom at 1.15am and when questioned, left immediately, leaving frightened people behind. The Manager promised to let us know why this had happened but we have heard nothing since which is very disappointing. A very bad note to end our stay there on.

The positives include a great location, friendly and well trained staff, good options to eat both within the hotel, and some great restaurants just around. All in all, a relatively hassle free stay. That's what a business traveler looks for, and you will get it at the RB Muscat. BUT... This hotel has clearly seen better days. I remember staying here around 5 years ago and had such a good impression of the hotel back then that I actually declined a stay at another suggested (newer) hotel. I guess time does take it toll, but it needn't be that way. Maintenance is clearly a sore point here. Surprisingly, a basic amenity like the Air Conditioning in the rooms was REALLY LOUD - to the point where I preferred to put it off just to get a good night's sleep. And then was awaken because it was just too stuffy and hot! Not conducive to a good night's sleep, you'd agree!

As usual I stay in this hotel for Business Trip. I'm club Carlson member as well. Being a vegetarian I find tough to get right choice. But in Radisson Blu Muscat I really had tough time, one aspect there were no much choices left for me and on the top Chef was very rude and unprofessional. I see chefs try to accommodate special requests by taking time, but here I see very rude behaviour of chef. Finally I had to vacate the hotel and find some other hotel in near by area. Rooms are quite comfortable, concierge, laundry, front desk and servants are very supportive. Amenities such as Gym, swimming pool, Wifi are also OK. Other than food, rest seems to OK. Some drawbacks are no news papers in room (only digital news papers available to read), no complimentary refreshments in room.
