Nikobear's Nook

Escape to "Nikobear's Nook," a cozy tiny cabin packed with big comforts in the heart of Cherokee County. Sleep soundly on a king-size murphy bed or the loft’s double bed. Note that the loft sleeping area is accessed via a ladder and has limited head room. (Approximately 5 feet) so is better suited for kids and flexible grown-ups that don't mind climbing up and down a ladder to use the kitchen or bathroom. Cook with ease in the retro-style kitchen, stocked with spices and essentials. Relax in the spa-like shower with rain head + body jets. Your pup will love the secure yard. Perfect for a peaceful mountain getaway!


Perfectly located off Hwy. 19/129, Nikobear's Nook affords easy access to Murphy, NC as well as Blairsville and Blue Ridge, GA. It is the perfect escape to enjoy all the lovely activities this area provides. Hiking, shopping, dining, rafting, boating venues are all nearby, as is Harrah's Cherokee Valley River Casino. Even a visit to the quaint Bavarian village of Helen, GA is under an hours drive time through the beautiful Smoky Mountains.

Entertainment is provided with a 58" Roku TV to stream your favorite shows and a blue-tooth sound system in the bath.

As dog owners ourselves, we know how important it is to have our pets close and safe. We recently designed a fenced enclosure in order to keep dogs secure with easy access by just opening the door. However, Please be sure the 2 gates (1 at the entrance and 1 at the fire pit area) are completely latched before allowing your dogs to roam. We have also provided a doggie poop station for your convenience. Please be sure to pick up after your dog(s). We (and our guests) sincerely thank you for your consideration in this area. Remember to include your pets as guests during booking. An $85 pet fee per stay applies.


Guests will be provided with a personal 4-digit entry code the day before arrival. This code will be active the day of arrival from 30 minutes prior to the check-in time until 30 minutes after check-out time on the day of departure. This same 4-digit code can be used to disarm the Simplisafe Security System should you decide to set it while you are away or retired for the evening. But please don't take the presence of an alarm system as an indication of the kind of area you are staying in. Country Lane at Lake Wells is a wonderful, quiet community with very friendly neighbors. You'll feel like your in a tree house when you've come out to the porch to "Set a spell". Relax around the fire pit...remembering the days' explorations. You will say..."This is My Mountain Escape!"
