Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites Murphy

The hotel was not on the main drag, so was quiet, with a nice view of the mountains from my window. It was clean and the staff was helpful.

There were bugs in the bathroom. Other than that it was good for two days

My family stayed here to be in close proximity to Ocoee river rafting. Had a wonderful time and a very comfortable stay. The little town of Murphy is quaint and the staff at the Holiday Inn Express were very helpful. They told us about some great restaurants in the area and the continental breakfast was very good.

The rafting trip was great and the hotel was clean. My wife was offended at check-in by the clerk popping a joke about our family name "coming out of the woods". Breakfast was far worse as all the food was dried or overcooked and we waited in line while the house keeping staff took turns filling their faces in front of us instead of allowing paying guests a chance to get food. Obnoxious and self centered shined while we waited with plates in hand for 4 house keepers to indulge, darting like mosquitos so as not to miss a drop. The lady I assumed was manager did ask if everything was ok when she saw my son, wife and myself throw our plates into the trash. A shame her paid employees had no concern. The Hardees we ate at about 10 miles away at least was what we expected. After all, what good is a meal included in the price when you have to buy another. Not much of a bargain there. We've always checked in to Holiday Inn Express without verifying rating, but definitely never again.

Had a great time the indoor pool was closed with a sign "closed by order of the Cherokee county health department" kinda scary

I came to Murphy to get access to the Cherohala Skyway. I chose this hotel because of its proximity to the mouth of the Cherohala. The stretch of road called the Cherohala Skyway connects Robbinsville NC to Tellico Plains TN...about 51 miles. The highest peak of the Cherohala (at Santeetlah Gap) is 5,390 feet above sea level. The most challenging stretch of the Cherohala is a the end of the drive, referred to affectionately as the "tail of the dragon", packs 318 really tight turns into 11 exhilarating miles while climbing up and down the peaks of the Cherokee and Nantahala National Forests.

Very pleasant stay!

I was very impressed with location, cleaness & most of all the service. The staff went out of their way to make sure we were comfortable and our stay was first rate. So if in area or going to Murphy NC I would Highly recommend them for your stay. So don't miss out of a good place to stay, for some other place, if do YOU BE SORRY!

Staff was friendly and the room was great. would recomend to everyone

We stayed for a weekend for a wedding. The beds were very comfortable and the room was very clean. There were some odd spots on the bathroom door that had not been cleaned. Our room was smoke-free but through the vent in the bathroom, you could smell cigarette smoke coming in.

This hotel was wonderful. Nice and clean. Great Rooms. Big TV. Very impressed for the price this was a wonderful place to stay. Friendly staff and a great breakfast.

I enjoyed my stay. The staff was very fiendly and courteous

The rooms were clean and comfortable. We were not impressed with the continental breakfast. Some of the food items were stale. The coffee did not have a good tast.

Relatively new hotel, clean and well maintained. Clean room, nicely furnished and with wireless internet access. Nice indoor pool and hot tub.
