Staff was fine. The property seemed old and worn. We were on the first floor, which was fine, but the snack machine was on second floor and when we walked up there the second floor hallway was piping hot. We assumed the second floor was not being used until we saw people go up the stairs. We asked if they were in rooms up there and they said yes. This stunned us, given the complete lack of A/C in that floor's hallways. If my room was on the second floor, I'd be leaving.

We arrived in Murphy ahead of schedule on our check in day, and the very nice staff lady allowed us to checkin two hours early. We had been driving a LOT of hours and it was wonderful to be able to get in our room.
We were visiting family. The gorge is not very far away if you interested in white water rafting. There are gem mines close if you want to try your luck there. I was very satisfied with the cleanliness of the hotel. There's not any dining within walking distance except fast food. Murphy's Hamton Inn has a very friendly staff.
After a long 7 hour drive, it was great coming to the mountains of North Carolina and staying at the Hampton Inn. The staff was very friendly. I came to conduct business with One Dozen Who Care, Inc. in Andrews, NC and they have agreed to continue to do business with Hampton Inn anytime they need hotel service. Hampton Inn was very accomodating to make sure all my needs were met.
