Not a terrible hotel, just not close to the city center. Unless you plan on renting a car, or p0aying for a taxi every day I would avoid. + friendly staff, good breakfast for reasonable price - location is isolated, free Wi-Fi is too slow for youtube, have to pay for high speed
Azimut hotel is located in Munich City, Germany. The European summer made the rooms very hot and uncomfortable, and to make matters worse, the hotel had no air conditioning. They tried to help and offered small fans for use in the rooms. The room was clean and had all standard amenities. Breakfast was wonderful with a great spread. Would rate the hotel as 3.5 out of 5
I had stayed at azimut on 5th July with my family. The rooms are quite spacious with twin beds and flat screen Tv. Hot water is available. There is no air condition but if you keep the window open the room gets cool. Lifts are ok. Staff at reception counter are co operative. A little far from city centre but the hotel is clean and comfortable to stay after a hectic day. No noise disturbance. Breakfast is continental with lots of variety. Cold cuts, scrambled eggs, corn flakes etc. Only problem is that luggage has to be carried very far as the bus parking is very far from hotel. Overall a good, quite, comfortable hotel.
Hotel itself is OK. Not far from messe (bus stop is 5 mins away). However, the expectations were higher. Rooms have no conditioning. My room was in the east side and really hot. Trains run nearby and if the window is open (which is when its hot) you can hear it very well. Bathroom was fine. Breakfast is rather poor.
Impressions: shower points and splashes on the floor, couldn't be adjusted. Parking was DEFINITELY said to be free, but cost us 13€ for the 12 hours we were there. Dirty carpet in the room. Very slow wifi. Decent breakfast, nice with a bathtub, cheap(except for the parking ripoff).
Stayed in this hotel from the 3rd-5th June as part of a budget trip around Western Europe, and we were surprised to find a hotel like this to be the cheapest on offer in the city for those dates. Located within the financial district of Munich, the hotel is a little further out than we would have liked. The nearest S-Bahn station (Berg am Laim) is 10-15 minutes walk from the hotel, which is less convenient than we would have liked, but we ended up finding the walk both safe and pleasant and suited us for the short duration of the visit. For those staying for business purposes, or with other modes of transport, this will not be an issue. Staff were relatively friendly. Room itself was spacious, clean and cool - a stark contrast to our other accommodation on the trip. Bathroom was spacious and clean, with both a large bath and sink area. The TV allowed us to take a break and get some decent rest in amongst our busy itinerary. However, for a business hotel, the wifi was poor. There was a cap of 500mg for the room, and when it was reached, there was a charge. This was not a huge issue for us as we weren't in the room often and didn't find wifi to be completely essential, but this may be an issue for anyone working from the hotel.
I stayed at the hotel for a week, and was very impressed by the breakfast area. It is a big and bright space. The breakfast buffet had a very large variety of everything, including several types of bread. The only thing, limited from my point of view is the internet capacity, access and speed. As I understood from the brochure the internet is limited, after you exceed that limit you need to pay extra for internet.
I have stayed in interesting hotels in my business life. This takes the cake. On arrival I was early but could I have access to my room, NO ! Even though it was ready it would cost 10 euro per hour to have early access. So ignore the adverts that say you can have early room. While waiting no wifi access either. When I did get wifi it was terrible because they sold the better wifi. A rip off. Ignore the advert that says free wifi. The hotel looks and feels dirty. The carpets in the public area are filthy. My room felt like an army bungalow with small single cot like beds. The room was never properly cleaned. I had paper and empty bottles left in the room. On arrival home find I was bitten by bugs. Never again a azimut hotel if I can help it.
Very basic which you could expect for the price. Bar very basic, operated by receptionist that did not know how to find a standard bottle. No ice in the bar... Room set as twin, very narrow beds with short narrow blankets. No air-condition or heater. Location very good for Messe. Oh, Wifi exists and open, but such narrow and slow connection I did not have in the last 3 years.
I stayed in this hotel for one night on the long trip around 7 countries in Europe. The hotel is not in the center of the city but the area is quite peaceful around with other residential community. And also close to Mercue hotel nearby. The room is fine with enough space not too small like most European hotels. Every room has large window for the guests to enjoy the fresh air outside. The bathroom is ok. The conditions of the room is quite fine. Too me this is a fine hotel in Munich.
