Great staff , dog friendly and walking distance to restaurants, bars, Old Town, and other sightseeing places. We enjoyed our weekend stay here with our two pups. The room was spacious too! The rooftop was good drinks and food too. We would def stay here again .

1. Shower malfunction: The water temperature in the shower could not be adjusted. A staff member came to inspect and confirmed that the shower was damaged and could not be repaired promptly. As a result, we had to pack our luggage and move to Room 1102 at midnight, which was highly disruptive and negatively impacted our experience. 2. Leftover tray: Upon entering Room 706, we found a tray with leftover food from a previous guest left outside the door, blocking our way into the room. Even after returning around 9:00 PM, the tray had not been removed. We had to call the front desk to have it taken away. 3. Room maintenance issues: One of the charging outlets in Room 706 was not functioning, and the light in front of the mirror was also broken. 4. No communication from the hotel: We were also told that a supervisor would follow up with us the next day to discuss compensation. Unfortunately, we received no follow-up — neither by phone, email, nor in person — during the remainder of our stay. When we checked out on June 30, we mentioned this again to the front desk and asked why no supervisor had contacted us. The staff member at checkout said she would leave another note and that the supervisor would be in at 1:00 PM and follow up with us after that. However, we still have not received any communication. We also sent an email (see attached) to the front desk supervisor, who has not replied since.

The rooms are clean and staff were very friendly and accommodating. The hotel is close to stores to shop and restaurants. The penthouse bar and restaurant in the hotel is fabulous. The drinks and food taste good and reasonably priced.

In downtown Montreal with shopping nearby on St Catherine Street. Good restaurants, close to the festival locations. The hotel's restaurant was great for breakfast and the roof top bar for evening drinks.

Hello. I wanted to provide some feedback about my trip this weekend and stay at Renaissance Montreal Downtown Hotel. On June 21, 2025 while trying to nap in my hotel room, the television automatically turned on and was extremely loud at around 430pm. I confirmed that this also happened to a friend who was staying at the property, and also woke him up. I'd like to suggest that housekeeping mute the volume on the TVs so this does not happen in the future. Following this, once I fell back asleep, a staff member knocked on my door DESPITE having the Do Not Disturb sign on my door handle. This was to inform me that the hotel would not have power that night from 12am to 6am and I was provided a glow stick. Also, the room was extremely hot because of the power outage and disrupted my sleep, and my phone did not charge overnight. I have never had to complain in the past about staying at a Marriott property in the past, but considering the poor service on this occasion, I would appreciate some sort of compensation. Average for this kind of hotel though good location for walking to local attractions, old port and Mount Royal. Carpets needed renewal or good clean. Air con constantly going on and off and noisy. Shower was dripping on arrival and fire alarm went off on one night of stay- a bit chaotic.

The hotel is in a nice and safe location in downtown Montreal, and very close to some of the attractions. Lots of cafes and restaurants are nearby. Check-in was quick and the staff is very professional. The corner loft room was spacious with a nice sized bathroom. My only negative feedback would be - 1. Not enough drawers in the room 2. Netflix was very slow and had a delay in loading or didn't load subtitles at all 3. The window curtains are not motorized and it is not always convenient to open/close the curtains especially behind the TV console.

I felt this property has slipped since I was there last. Not as clean and staff not as helpful. I also told them I smelled cigarette smoke coming out of the vents in my room thru the night. I have stayed many times there but will be moving on my next trip to somewhere else.
