Good: Staff is polite and courteous; maintenance staff very responsive; rooms are clean and has exactly what is needed; Good to know: Service is provided once a week for extended stay; if you need anything, you can call reception. We like it because you don't need a fresh towel every day, or someone to come in and change your sheets for you - that's neither good for the environment nor good for me. But this may not be appreciated by some guests. Not too good: We had a nagging problem with the door to the room- it would not lock when we leave the room. Maintenance had to be called three times in three days. Parking is very tight - call and let them know if you need facility parking. Otherwise you may have to go a few blocks to find parking (which can actually be cheaper by half!).

The wifi was spotty and unreliable in my room. Montreal has free wifi in certain areas and that wifi was better than the hotel's. Whenever I needed to yelp a place to find a restaurant to eat at or check-in to my flight, it was easier to do it outside. I can't imagine working inside the room with the spotty wifi. With the families staying in these suites with kitchen areas, it would be nice if the hallways were ventilated so people don't have to smell the mix of scents in the air. In addition, visiting in June/July, the hallways were a little less hot but about the same amount of humid compared to outside.

The beds need replaced. They are warn out. And the room was like an ash tray. The smell was so bad of cigarette smoke. I spayed the whole room with Lysol each day. Still the smoke over powdered the Lysol....

Room not ready upon arrival. Room had been smoked in and night manager gave us attitude about changing it. When they say suite, they mean a room with a refrigerator. Hallways smell of marijuana and boiled cabbage so much we had to sleep with the window open.

The suite was absolutley huge and very comfortable. Location was good. Walking distance to many fun spots in downtown area. We came for a Canadiens game. It is a short cab ride or a bit of a walk to get to Bell Centre. The hotel is a bit tired but suited our needs. The hallway was noisy but once in our room, we didn't hear any of our neighbors. Parking was a bit of a pain as front staff didn't really know the rules for side streets. Ended up with a $55 parking ticket as the hotel's lot was full. Other than that, the staff were friendly. Would come back.

Good for its price. Lot of clubs and bars around and Chinatown right next door

Nice, clean, spacious room. Nothing fancy, but a solid place to crash for the night. Full kitchen, and stocked with utensils and such if you are looking to stay for more than a few nights. The best part was the great location -- 2 minutes from the Chinese Quarter, 10 minutes from the old town -- which made seeing the city by foot really nice.

This hotel is acceptable noisy guests and an issue with the room key. Jennifer was exceptional in her help

I was at this hotel with my wife, a bland experience compared to our stay at staybridge. Staff weren't aware of the hotel policy such as check out time. Housekeeping was scheduled once in a week, which I don't get at all. I'm there to enjoy the vacation not to clean up. I'm sorry but yes I'm that lazy. Kitchen was nicely equipped. That was the only plus. My wife had the reward points with them, but she didn't had the card with her and they were reluctant enough not to search it in their system. This hotel's management and staff both need training. Unless if they think this the standard for hospitality. Not worthy to come back.

Hotel room was clean but the shower didn't drain and we couldn't control the air conditioning so it was colder than we wanted. You really want this hotel for the price and location, everything else is pretty average.

I came to Montreal for fun and business. I was there for the Mutek Fest and the SEGD Graphics Expo in June 2011 and had a very pleasant stay. I had read that the hotel had nicer corner rooms with views, asked for one, and got one--no extra charge. Room was very spacious and clean, and had all amenities: full kitchen, TV, couch, comfortable bed, windows that opened, underground parking. The price was right for a 1BD suite, and I would absolutely go there again. Hotel was perfectly located for the activities I wanted to do--including walking all over downtown.

the hotel was clean and the hotel staff was great

Loved the kitchen for cooking at home. Had a great corner room with best city views. Staff was quite helpful at all times. Little things were lacking attention such as loose shower head, loose bath faucet handle, garbage disposer inadequate, bed a bit sagging. Easy access to subway and supermarket, then on to the main tourist destinations.

It was awesome especially when we got our room upgraded

Front dessk staff were very friendly and helpful. The hotel location was a short walk from Old Montreal which is where we wanted to spend time.

This is a suite hotel and the rooms are spacious and clean -- my TV was missing channels but I didn't bother to get it fixed. There is a fridge, stove, microwave, etc. There are a variety of restaurants within walking distance and Old Montreal is a 15-min walk away. Nicest surprise is that the Airport 747 bus took me to within a block of the hotel for $7 Canadian.

I'm very glad I chose to stay at the Candlewood Suites for my latest trip to Montréal for a music festival. The location is extremely convenient to the venues located on the south part of St-Laurent near Chinatown. I reserved a 1BR suite which had a separate bedroom and living room. It was more than enough room for myself -- I could have had 2 or 3 friends stay with me (maybe next year!). There is a fold out double bed couch in the living room and TVs in both the bedroom and living room. My only complaint is that the internet connection provided is basically unusable and there was no wi-fi network. There is no restaurant on-site but a short walk will get you to Chinatown or, if in a pinch, the food court at Complexe Desjardins. There is also an IGA at the Complexe Desjardins which is great because you have a complete kitchenette in your suite. I didn't mind that the maid service is only weekly (I stayed for 10 days) since clean towels were always available at reception. The staff were always friendly. I will stay here again on my next trip to Montréal.

Usually i look for apartment rentals while I'm away from home. It cuts down on having to eat out all the time and usually there is a washer and dryer setup to do laundry yourself. The Candlewood Suits gives your the best of both worlds. Apartment living within a hotel atmosphere. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable. The gym was clean at all times and the free laundry service (excluding the soap and softener) was great. The Candlewood Suites is a best bet while staying in Montreal.

Hotel is located just outside of Old Montreal near the China town area of the city. Valet parking is actually next door at the Holiday Inn Express but is extremely easy. The Hotel offers a complimentary laundry room, with 12 washers and dryers - perfect for a family of 4 running low on clean clothes, Everything is within walking distance.
