Staff was nice. Room was comfortable. Need to get there during the daylight hours however, if it’s your first time. Too hard to find the rooms after dark.

Great, quiet away from home and subtle retreat. The area is pricey for food, and the lodge hours vary for bfast, lunch and dinner, but they provide coffee in the room. Overall a great experience for Big Sur.

It was 4:00 check in time on a Friday. It took us more than 30 minutes to wait to get our room. Jordan was alone at the desk as the only one checking in the guests. Rooms were not ready at check-in time. He was very busy but kind. There is a lot of information that has to be given to guests (how to get to your lodge, how to access the community areas, how to deal with the park pass, and more). Check in is a long process. The management should have someone else on the desk.

Friendly staff. Great room. Loved the patio. May I recommend putting info in room like a map to let people know where ice machines etc. are located. You can’t call the office since there is no cell service.

The heater is the room was broken and wouldn’t turn off. It was set at 86 for our entire stay. I reported it to the front desk and each time I brought it up the person working there would make a joke about it or ask me if I would rather have no heat. They also kept having me repeat the room number, so many times that it seemed absurd, like some inside joke I wasn’t aware of. If they had said the heater is broken and we can’t fix it I would have understood, but instead it was always a weird interaction of making jokes and feigning surprise that heater wouldn’t turn off. They were very dismissive and never fixed the heater. The staff were poorly trained to work with customers. Basic hospitality skills were missing.

Everybody was very nice and helpful. Location in the park with access to two other parks was unbeatable if you want to get away and detach from it this is your place. No TV and spotty coverage and no microwave in room. So low on amenities but high on quiet peaceful.
