Beautiful view from our lodge. Backyard patio is fenced with a view of the forest. Wifi is spotty if not nonexistent where we stayed.

Magic

This pace is quaint and amazing nestled into the magic Big Sur has to offer. It’s not the Ritz Carlton or fancy by any means. It’s rustic, cabin style, as advertised. Wait staff incredibly friendly. One younger staff guy in gift shop was really quiet and we had an awkward moment where he couldn’t count the change accurately and darkly said he would get in trouble if he was a penny off (implying negativity - but I experience nothing of the sort) but there was a woman who provided over the top customer service. Anyway- you won’t have cell service here. But so what -get off your phone and enjoy.

Rustic, beautiful, and convenient

We enjoyed our stay. Absolutely lovely setting, right in a state park with redwoods, trails, and a waterfall. Loved the lodge, with its rustic decor, and we enjoyed the gift shop, cafe, and restaurant. It's so convenient to have all of that right there. The rooms are pretty basic, but they have everything you need - though I would have liked a small table on the balcony to put a drink on. One issue - our room smelled very strongly of wood smoke when we arrived - I mean, sting your eyes heavy. I tried to air it out, but it continued to be very strong. I actually had a bit of a hard time sleeping because of it. Needless to say, we did not use the fireplace and create even more smoke! Other than that, it was all very nice.

Lovely lodge stay surrounded by redwoods. Cabins surround a swimming pool that would be great when open. Fireplaces and generous living quarters

They need to get rid of the connected units with a thin interior door. You can hear every whisper in the other unit and unforuate for us a crying baby ruined our time. The property needs to be very clear the DO NOT have wifi. Lots of options for them to add in this day and age. To their credit they were able to move our room. The women at the desk said she would follow up about a credit due to a downgrade but that was a lie.

It is a lovely place! Great for a fun trip! Everything about it was wonderful. Big Sur is such a gorgeous place for hiking and the lodge was a great place to relax sfter fabulous hikeing!

My children and I loved our stay at Big Sur lodge. We had fun hiking around the property. The free fire wood every night was a nice touch. We just wish the pool was open and the rec room was cleaner with more kid options.

Unbeatable location. Great 2 queen with fireplace suite, which includes a sofa bed. Seems to be recently updated as furnishing and deck seemed very new. Basic bathroom. Nice to have fireplace and the firewood in the room.

I love the idea of this hotel. It is situated in the park and has tons of stuff to do around the property. The room was nice in that the wifi didn't really work and there was no TV so you could really stay present. However, there were chip crumbs on the carpet and dirt in the bathroom so it wasn't the most clean. The biggest problem was the in room heater. It was so LOUD. It pumped out heat but crackled super loud as it was running and again as it was cooling down. We had to leave early to drive home and the front office was closed at 7am. The espresso bar opens at 8am so no services early in the am.
