I had a wonderful stay at the Big Sur Lodge. The location is unbeatable—right inside the park with direct access to trails, which makes exploring incredibly easy. The lodge offers great, simple amenities that make time in the park enjoyable without taking away from the natural experience. One of my favorite features was the outdoor patio with a bar—perfect for relaxing after a day of hiking. The atmosphere is quiet and safe, and the staff were fantastic. A special shoutout to Mya, who was especially friendly and welcoming. If you’re visiting Big Sur and not camping, this is truly an amazing option to stay—comfortable, convenient, and immersed in nature.

Great location for viewing Highway 1 scenery. Older units, but largely clean. We arrived after staff left for the day (5 pm?), so don't know about staff timing and services.

Not at all as advertised

This is a run down campsite: the photos are very misleading. The sink was cracked, the toilet stained and marked, bathroom unclean and the entire lodge was dark & dingey with dead bugs and cobwebs. The main lobby and restaurant are like a youth hostel. We had to cut our stay short as there was a mouse in our room.

Big Sur Lodge definitely did not disappoint and we will be back very soon! We enjoyed the convenience of staying in the middle of the park and waking up to the fresh air of the forest around us. Walking outside our door to the beginning of a new hike everyday was an experience we will never live down! Pfeiffer Beach was our favorite part of our trip and we were so fortunate it was so close to the lodge. All in all 5 out of 5.

The rooms could use upkeep. The blinds didn’t fully close due to an electric AC which needed a hose to come out of the window. Realistically, there was no privacy due to it.

The shower was nice and I enjoyed the board games they left in the room to get people to engage with each other without technology. It was a nice quiet area with really convenient access to great hiking trails and a short drive to Pfeiffer beach. The staff was really great. I would definitely come back again.

We stayed with our dog and while Big Sur isn't the most dog friendly place, the lodge had some nice trails/walking areas that we could walk amongst the trees and the creek. Outdoor dining was lovely and the staff was very helpful.

Stayed here 5 nights. Great stay! Rooms are clean and have that cabin in the woods feel. Short walk to lodge for dining (great restaurant) and shopping. Then in the park lots of things to do. Hike, bike rides (bring your own) , swim in pool, float in the river. Drive down hwy1 for more hiking and eating.
