Nice hotel in Carmel Valley Village about 20 minutes away from the hustle and bustle of Monterey. It was very quiet in a country small-town setting. Great local restaurants in the immediate area in addition to the other great restaurants in the Carmel/Monterey area. Although the pool was not heated (early May water temperature was maybe 65 degrees), I'm sure the water would be more comfortable during the summer months. We used the heated spa a lot. Excellent value for the money.

We payed 145 for a one night stay. For this orice, I would not expect shredded shear curtains! Ugh! The grounds were pretty although a little overgrown. Room was very clean, linens fine, bed comfortable. It was 90 degrees andwe had an upstairs unit and it was very hot due to no air condition. We were overlooking the pool and there was a big, loud party at 1 in the morning. You would think the front desk would have addressed this but they did not. Also, there was a Sign by the toilet not to put paper down it as they had a septic tank. This didn't fly with us. Unbelievable.

Very enjoyable stay within walking distance to wine tastings and restaurants. Will book again.

Friendly and efficient staff. Charming lodge, clean and great rooms/cottages. Very close to restaurants.

It was far below what was advertised and our expectations. The hotel itself was not clean, there was no air conditioning, just a bunch of dirty old fans. Most of the windows were missing screens which didn't allow for us to open the windows since the place was so over grown it had bugs everywhere. The rooms were not nice and the hotel itself had trash from remodeling and other things all over the place. The continental breakfast was not worth the "extra" that they advertised.

It was an amazing stay at this hotel I would recommend this hotel

Pleasant overnight stay in older but very clean accommodation.

We're a family of 5 all of who like to be on the internet and who have hearty appetites. This hotel's wi fi didn't work. Negative. Breakfast in the morning consisted of Costco muffins cut in half, bagels, cold cereal, instant oatmeal and a few other things. Not one protein or banana in sight. Negative. What really irked me was that they didn't start serving until 8am! Not even coffee! Huge negative!! The pool is seasonal and not open at this time. Another negative. It looked like they were trying to do some renovations, but the property was pretty run down looking. And "all this" came at a pretty hefty price! I wouldn't stay there again. Not going to recommend to friends either.

no additional comments to what I have said already.

Staff not very warm. Helpful but not warm. Floors are very cold in winter, needs area rugs. Also needs microwave.

The area seemed very odd to have a lodge. Kind of a mix between industrial, school area and residential. Everything about the place from the office to the rooms was very dark. I felt like turning on lights wherever I turned. The rooms had no air and there would be no way you could stay in them comfortably during the day. At night, the weather cooled down and we were able to get a breeze so we could sleep. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. I would not want to stay more than a night.

Our room had a fireplace and a small couch and a cozy little porch for a great price. We stayed a few nights and sat out by the gorgeous pool and enjoyed the gas fire pits with friends while enjoying the beautiful mountain views and cool California nights. The complimentary cheese and wine every evening was an added bonus! We will be back there the next time we are in the area. Loved this place!

We loved the peace and tranquility and the location.
