We drove up from Massachusetts for a three day weekend back in March. When we arrived it was snowing and it continued to flurry the entire weekend which really added to the charm of the town! Loved our stay and plan on returning. In my opinion you cannot go wrong staying here. You are close to everything. We opted for a suite with the fireplace and living area, kitchenette and bed in the living room. This was perfect for us. The bed was very comfortable. Room was clean. There was some wear and tear but just cosmetic, some paint from the chair scraped on the wall. Room was perfect size. Bathroom was clean. Kitchen was clean. We had a balcony overlooking the main walkway / road of the village. Loved it! We are a couple in our late 30's couple, did not bring children. There was some late night chatter in the streets and a tiny bit in the hallway at night but it did not bother us as we were there to do the same, have a good time! Bars are open late which was nice. We would chose the same room again in a heartbeat. There are so many restaurants to chose from. We ended up spending the last night split between Fat Mardi's and So Cal kitchen and had a great time. The staff were very hospitable and the food was great. We left wishing we had gone there the first night. Next time! The mountain is walking distance from the rooms and the best bet is to wear your boots and all your gear and just go. One thing we didn't think of until the second day was if you want to you can take a back pack up in the gondola and leave at the lodge at the peak, if you pack a lunch. Then you could take the gondola back down at the end of the day if you don't want to ski down with your gear. The lodge sells beer and wine in the cafeteria. The ski conditions were great. Not a beginner mountain, in my opinion. Some of the trails were steep and fast and they were crowded. We had a great weekend skiing but were glad we had not brought our son who was just learning to snowboard this year. I don't think there were any trails he would have been comfortable on. Another tip I would give is pack good walking boots, a muck boot like an LLbean boot. Nice boots will get banged up. The spread gravel on the roads to keep them safe from slipping instead of salt which we loved. The village could not be any cleaner really. Every morning there were crews out sweeping and cleaning. We took the shuttle to the casino for a few hours just for fun. It was interesting. We could not for the life of us figure out how to take the gondola there which seemed like an option online....We played some slots and black jack / roulette. Older crowd, quiet spot. We didn't go back to our car at all the entire weekend. It was truly a full service resort. Everything all in one place. Great time.
We have stayed at St.Bernard during March Break with our kids and a group of approx. 40ppl. The check in was quick, staff were friendly and very accommodating. The hotel is clean and well situated in the village and close to the main gondola. Everyone in our group liked the hotel and its location. We will definately return for our next ski vacation in Tremblant ;))
Perfectly located near everything (shops, restaurants, ski station, casino). No car needed. Inside parking available at extra charge. The room was not big but was clean. Beautiful view on the street. Our friends were having a suite with a full kitchen (oven, fridge, dishwasher, toaster, microwave, etc), a fire place, a balcony and so on. Huge room that they pay almost the same price as our small room. It was really great and quiet.
2 night get a way midweek slight trouble finding registration desk ...in village ...need better directions mildly worn .....but clean ....and comfy bathrooms need updating ....especially upstairs one small kitchen ideal for breakfast and light lunches well equipped fireplace ,....needed to buy log if desired ...... no music or stereo system parking underground ....no signage .....challenging to find housekeeping did not make up bed after 1 st night no cleaning done
Family of two adults and two children spent a week for Ontario March school break (12 – 18 March), stayed in suite Johannsen south 5th floor. We arrived on Saturday afternoon. Check-in was quick, efficient and informative. Found the spot in garage and placed the big visible parking ticket given to us. No issue with getting the stuff in suite, unfortunately two flight of stairs to get to 5th floor since elevator stops on 4th floor but not a big issue, little exercise we did not mind. Suite was clean, bedding adequate and clean, pull out sofa was good, and kitchen spotless clean with all needed kitchenware for family of four. All supplies were there (dishwasher detergents etc.) Stove, microwave, toaster were all in working condition. Bathroom spotless clean with all necessary supplies there, yes all light bulbs were max 40W but we did not care much. We have read the reviews here and were aware of that so we could bring 100+W bulbs but it is our vacation time. On that note lamp beside bed had light bulb and switch with three levels of power so sufficient light for any taste. TV worked, we did not use it – strange thing I wanted to connect my camcorder by HDMI to see the skiing recorded for the day but failed - looks like there was effort made to prevent that. Wi-Fi was not that great; down on occasions but kids made some use of it, we were on vacation and did not care much about it. Fireplace was there but we did not bother. Lockers on south side were ok and ski in and out is actually working with the help of Cabriolet if you do not want to walk 15 meters uphill using the stairs. We had our own lock which I recommend if you are not at home with turning lock (my nightmare although my daughter likes that design and used it at pool visits). Room service was as what we expected with replenishing whatever was due but the level of cleanness we experienced – in our view those ladies deserve best mark. We did not have contact with hotel management at all. Only one issue we found with the suite (504), looks like someone owns the place and there were two doors locked, also two cupboard locked – from behind one door right at the entrance mould smell was getting into suite - we could smell strong mould along the door edges right away so whatever was locked there was rotting. Inside the suite we could not find other source of the mould smell so we did not find this too much of a problem. Guests with mould allergy would possibly feel different. Also I called hotel and shared this information with them. Big bonus for this hotel is access to pool end hot tub at Aqua club La Source so every day after skiing we went there and enjoyed big time - kids especially since we were there with friends (with two children of same age as ours) who stayed in Johannsen north. There you will meet Stephen when register for the day, great guy with awesome feel to show hospitality and service. He made our visits to the Aqua club more enjoyable that we could hope for. Stephen, our friend, we will be back in March 2017! We stayed before in Lodge De La Montagne, Sommet De Neiges, this was our third visit to Tremblant and we will get back to this hotel – Stephen and Aqua club we cannot miss. Overall we really enjoyed this stay and would recommend it. We will book same hotel next year so we are returning to this hotel.
The condo-suites at Place St-Bernad (Johanssen North & South, Le Deslauriers North & South) are located at the footsteps of the slopesin the Swiss inspired pedestrian village of Mont-Tremblant. They are very close to the activities, shops and services. We spent a couple of nites visiting family members who were staying in the Johanssen South. They were in a 2 bedroom suite with kitchen (the sofa bed can accomodate another couple). The was spacious, clean and functional. In addition to a full kitchen there is was a fireplace, flat screen tv, wifi,. Beds are made every second day but if you require any towels or other supplies you simply call the reception. A stay here gives access to the pool, sauna and hot tub at the Acqua Club La Source which is a great activity for kids (and adults...). All in all a nice place to pass a few days and unwind.
GREAT - Location, Location, Location - Room size (Loft) Room for Improvement - Lack of info - put an info book in the room - Decorate the place - just a bit more - Your WiFi is very hard to sign in with a phone (UI just doesn't work on small screen) - Why nickel and dime trying to everybody to upgrade - get with the times!! BAD * Finished skiing with a young kid - came to door and it wouldn't open. Staff couldn't (wouldn't) so I had to leave my way too tired and too heavy to carry kid at the door to get my badge renewed * Do you have the badges stop @ noon on day of checkout - seemed it wasn't only me!
Stayed in a one-bedroom in Deslauriers North on the 4th floor facing the main walking street. Suite was clean but quite basic in furnishings and amenities. Dull lighting throughout and wood burning fireplace required you to buy wood. Full kitchen but missing some normal kitchenware and expected items like paper towels and such. King bed was comfortable but the two adults who slept on the living room sofa bed may never speak to us again. Noisy springs, concave in the middle, and thin mattress. Basically, a sleepless night. Great overall location near top of village hill so walk to South Side ski base with your gear was easy. Close to the nightlife which also meant a lot of music and street noise until about 2 am. A quiet room seems elusive in this location. Adequate parking underground and ski lockers on main floor. A hike to the lobby in another building down the street but very friendly and helpful staff. Privileges at village pool complex but still a hike from your building. Overall, acceptable but not a "wow", especially for the fee we paid.
We have been coming to this hotel for 20 years. Although the hotel is getting old, they have done a great job of keeping it renovated and clean and the drop in star rating from a 4 to 3 is accurate. Over the past 2.5 years we have noticed a significant decrease in the customer service. The operational management of the hotel is very poor. This hotel is very popular due to its close proximity to the mountain, but the cleaning staff is not adequately staffed. Last year when we went our hotel room was not available till 5:30 at night, yet checking is at 4pm. This year, same thing, we couldn't get in till 4:35. We have 3 small children and do not appreciate the wait. Secondly, the hotel is having significant problems with the management of the parking garage. People are apparently sneaking in and parking without permission. Rather than address the problem, management has transferred the risk and problem to clients. Rather than collect license plate numbers of paying clients who are staying in the hotel which is something they used to do, they now provide a small piece of paper which needs to be kept on the dash at all times (previously it was a hanging piece of paper from the mirror). During check-in, you are casually asked to place it on your dash. Our family did this. However, during the course of our stay, and having driven in and out, somehow the paper was misplaced. We awoke on the last day of our stay and went to retrieve our van only to have it missing. My husband and children thought it was stolen and were prepared to call the police and request access to video footage. We decided to take a chance and call the towing company listed on walls in the garage to see if by happenstance they would know what happened. We found out they towed our van!!! We were furious! Apparently they couldn't find the pass!!! It must have fallen down. They towed our van away and we had to wait 2hrs to retrieve it and were charged $161 CDN. When I raised this to customer service at the hotel I was told "the hotel has no control over the parking garage nor is it their problem nor can they do anything about it!" I asked to to speak to management and at 10:30am on a Tuesday during one of the busiest week's of the year (Quebec Reading week) and there was no management available! I continued to insist to speak to someone and they brought a manager from another hotel. All they offered was to cover the cost of the towing, and nothing else! My children were traumatized by the experience at first, we had to wait 2hrs to leave, and to be told "we were the problem". In speaking with employees at the hotel, I was told that this is a chronic problem that has been raised to management yet nothing continues to be done to address the root issue. Legitimate paying clients are being penalized. Bottom line, I recommend finding a different hotel if you are a family because the wait times, lack of customer service and risk of having your vehicle towed is just no longer worth it. After 20 years, I will not be returning to this hotel and will find somewhere else.
two bedroom condo. One room is upstairs. well lit right on the square where the shops restaurants and action is in the top of the village of Mont Tremblant. Underground parking available. Clean. Full kitchen with plates utensils bowl....great space to cook in. The spa or jacuzzi is in the aquacentre down the street about 5 min walk. The woman I dealt with in the lobby upon arrival wasn't very helpful or thorough in answering my questions. However, they did call me once my room was ready. I would definitely stay here again. I booked the room on hotels.com and a got a pretty good deal. We were four people and you can easily put in two more there will still be space. Great place!
