Holiday Inn St. Paul Downtown

3.0 out of 5.0

Behind the times and not modernized. The rooms are really small. Basically you open the door and the bed is right there. Old bathroom.

Great location across the street from the Xcel Energy Center. Near shops and restaurants. Very walkable area. Polite staff. Clean rooms. Great option in downtown St. Paul.

Great experience and easy parking. Located next to Xcel Center. Have stayed here several times and would continue to do so. Staff is great and the Liffey is a quality place to enjoy cocktails and a meal.

It was very clean! Very helpful and friendly staff!

This is a great business hotel or a great place to stay when traveling to downtown St. Paul.

The St. Paul Holiday Inn is an old, style, hotel, which needs updating. Rooms are adequate, staff friendly and ok. Heating/cooling system is at least one generation behind. Great location if you are attending events in downtown St. Paul,or,surrounding areas.

I thoroughly enjoyed the location of this hotel as I had a magnificent view of the Cathedral of St. Paul. My one complaint is that when I showered, the fan wasn't working so the bathroom became too steamed up.

Hotel was clean and everything was great. Restaurants were close by and hotel staff was great.

this hotel consistently is a great one to stay at, staff is friendly, rooms are great value, location is perfect for any twin cities trip

It was sort of tricky for me to find the entrace to the hotel (either because it actually is tricky, or because I was exhausted by my six hour drive), but the staff was kind and helped me when I called for directions. The room was clean and cozy. I was there for a Tough Mudder, so I was getting plenty of exercise and didn't use the fitness center, but it looked really nice and clean. However, I wasn't happy about having to pay an extra $14 a night to park my car in the garage.

Very convenient! Close to everything. Many restaurants and the Excel is right across the street.

I didn't know that the rooms were above the pub which had music playing until one am and vibrations were felt and heard five floors up. Not the best place to stay if you wants good nights sleep.

The room itself was nice, especially the overly large mini fridge and microwave. The beds were terrible, you could feel the springs. Each bed came with a small comforter, and apparently there were no other blankets available in the entire hotel. Not too big of a deal, but the elevators were the slowest I have ever experienced in a modern building. Also paying $15 to park in addition to a $200 room is quite annoying.

The hotel is just like any, but it's proximity to the Xcel Energy Center makes it a nice place to stay

Great location to the Xcel Center! Awesome pretzels in the bar!

Contrary to some of the reviews I had read before going to St. Paul, we had a very enjoyable stay. The staff was very friendly and accomodating. During our three days there, we used their shuttle service 4 times and it worked very well. The staff in the restaurant were very friendly. We had breakfast there every day and the food was excellent. The hotel is strategically located in downtown St. Paul and made it easy to get to our destinations. One slight criticism: the rug in our room had some spots on it that should be fixed or the rug changed.

This holiday inn is centrally located in downtown St. Paul. Clean rooms, efficient staff, all up to holiday inn standards. Parking ok but only accessible by going outside.

This hotel is situated pretty well in Saint Paul, and there are some neat shops and restaurants nearby. The hotel smelled a bit like old hotel, but the room was clean and comfortable. The staff were very friendly. The restaurant connected to the hotel - not so great. The food wasn't bad, it just wasn't all that great either. Overall, I would stay here again as it was comfortable, clean, and met all my basic requirements. THe parking is a bit pricey ($14 per day).

It was close to the site of my workshop and easy to find. I was looking forward to a thick pillowtop mattress for a resstful night's sleep. that didn't happen. the liffey had good food and service. I was not pleased to be charged $15 for parking in the ramp overnight. Ceck-in staff sounded like robots reciting a script. This would not be my choice next time.

Best place to stay to see shows at the Xcel!!! The pub is fantastic.
