Location to the Xcel Energy Center. Didn't like that the bar was closed for updates.

I resented that although the room was selected based on 4 guests, after selecting the room, it became apparent that each guest beyond 2 were an additional $10 each. This should have been clearer at the outset.

Liked how close to the Excel. Nice rooms very comfortable. It was so cold when I was there so that part was unpleasant. But overall very nice to stay there.

The bed was lumpy and uncomfortable. I awoke with a bad back ache that lasted all day. They need new/better mattresses.

We loved the free shuttle.... but hate having to add the cost for parking.

My only issue was you could hear everything in the hall. Thankfully everyone settled in to their rooms relatively early or it could have been a long night!

The property makes it very difficult to pay cash for your room, you must be able to put the entire amount on a credit card to hold the room for the night and then you can pay cash the next day at check out. This makes it very difficult for people who do not use credit cards. There was not any hot water in our room in the morning for showers. The property did remedy this by letting us shower in a different room. This did take quite some time, at least an hour to get it situated. This delayed us leaving the room by about 20 minutes. Check out time was at noon, at 10 after thete was a knock at the door telling us we would have to leave immeduately. We were just packing up. I told the gentleman what our delay was and he did remeber that we had an issue with the hot water and was nice and told us we could take our time. There was also a $15.00 charge for parking. The room rate was already inflated due to the event going on, then to have to pay an additional fee for parking was very exorbitant. Overall I'm not sure that I would stay at this particular property again!

Nice updated room. Clean, quiet. Tv and coffee. Excellent location, close to restaurants, bars, concert arena. Will definitely stay again when in St. Paul.

It was perfect! This hotel is acoss the street from the xcel energy center. It was GREAT!!! My friends and I also wanted to have options for dining. We had several options in walking distance.

My room was right next to the elevator. Noisy conversations in the hall woke me up several times in the night,

it was fine. good location. SLOW elevators--you could have a birthday by the time you got to your floor!

It wasn’t a terribly dirty hotel. But the HVAC unit filters haven’t been cleaned. The hallways weren’t vacuumed. The windows were dirty. The doors into the rooms weren’t solid and didn’t close tightly. They locked don’t get me wrong but a strong wind could blow them open. They have a great location and could have an amazing property if they just did the little things right.

We enjoyed our stay at the Holiday Inn downtown St. Paul. The room was nice with everything needed. Hotel staff were very nice. Restaurant nice with good food. Felt safe there.

The hotel was really clean. The staff were extremely friendly. Close to the excel center. And lots of neat bars to go to with inwalking distance.

Behind the times and not modernized. The rooms are really small. Basically you open the door and the bed is right there. Old bathroom.

Great location across the street from the Xcel Energy Center. Near shops and restaurants. Very walkable area. Polite staff. Clean rooms. Great option in downtown St. Paul.

We have security on site throughout the night to ask any noisy neighbors to stay a little quieter, and we're always happy to try putting guests in a little quieter areas of the hotel if preferred too. Thank you for letting us know about your stay, Anonymous. We're sorry about the hot water issue but relieved a solution was found for that morning. We're also pleased to hear that staff members were understanding with the need for a late checkout as a result as well. We also apologize that our policies regarding parking and cash payments were not in line with your preferences. While we do believe most hotels follow similar policies in requiring a credit card at check-in, we are sorry if this came as a surprise or an inconvenience. These are things we sincerely attempt to avoid for our guests. We also know that paying for parking is not popular, but it is unfortunately necessary at all hotels in the downtown area. As a matter of fact, we believe you would find our parking rate relatively economical in comparison to other area hotels. All in all, we are sorry that you experience was not as perfect as we aim to provide. We hope you will give us another chance in the future, because we are confident in our ability to provide a great experience!
