This was one of the best hotel experiences I’ve had in a long time. Staff all were wonderful, friendly and helpful. My room was comfortable and clean. Breakfast that was included in the price was best free breakfast I’ve had. Hot food, cold food, delicious fruit and great coffee. The staff at breakfast we’re especially nice and helpful - coming around offering water and coffee refills. Also, pool and hot tub were clean and nice - lots of towels there to use.

There was water in the ice bucket and the inside of the bathroom door needed a good washing.

The staff was extremely friendly. Everything recently remodeled and looked very nice. I would stay here again if I ever needed to!

With the new renovation, it looks really nice. Decent bed, updated fixtures. But a pig with a new coat of paint is still a pig. The walls are paper thin - I could hear every word of my neighbors' conversation. Constant door slamming noises. Two doors down from the elevator and heard it all night. Yeah, it looks good. That's it.

I was not aware that the bar/restaurant was closed for construction. The shuttle and the bar were the only reasons I chose to stay here. I see now buried in the FINE print it is mentioned that the bar is closed. I waited 45 minutes in line to check-in. THEN once I got my room key - it was for an occupied room. Back down to the lobby to wait another 20 minutes to get a new room. I had planned on having dinner in the hotel restaurant before attending a concert at Xcel. Spending over an hour to check into a pre-paid room - there was no chance of getting dinner before the show. Staff was unfriendly, frazzled, unprofessional. A real disappointment!

Stayed here for one night with our four legged friend. Very accommodating and just a quick and free shuttle ride away from the Excel Energy Center. Will stay here again for sure!

Very willing and friendly front desk staff checked us in and gave us directions to local attractions. Convenient location close, but not too close, to 35E and 94 freeways and State Capitol and St Paul Cathedral, as well as other St Paul attractions. Room comfortable and quiet. Only complaint is we had assumed breakfast was included in the room price but wasn't so.

Hotel was easy to find. Near our concert venue and had a free shuttle. The hotel is old and worn. Clean. It was what I needed - a cheap hotel for one night.

We were in town for a concert at the Xcel Energy Center. This hotel offered the best value in downtown St. Paul, as they are close to the Xcel, offered free shuttle service, and free parking. They also have a restaurant/bar onsite. Even though the place needs updating, it was very clean, and the people were super friendly. This was exactly what I was looking for in a hotel!

The location was perfect for our one night staycation...easy access to downtown St. Paul, either by the hotel shuttle or cab. We went to the Roy Wilkins Auditorium for a concert and took the hotel shuttle down to it. It is also an easy mile walk downtown if you prefer that, we were just running late so ended up grabbing it. Plenty of parking for hotel guests too...that was a great thing with 3 cars in our group. :-) Staff was extremely friendly and helpful...that is a must in my hotel experiences so it was great!

Perfect location for attending a Prairie Home Companion performance. Easy to get to with GPS. We arrived early and they let us have a room with no problems. Nice pool and hot tub.

The only thing this hotel has going for it is the location - if you need to be near the Capitol AND need parking that won't set you back (free parking) then this place is it. I think an update of the rooms is needed - with particular emphasis on the beds. Can forgive and overlook most things - but beds are one of those things that a hotel should invest in!

Stayed at this hotel this past weekend while attending a wedding. Not bad, but for the price paid it should have been much better. Staff did their jobs, but were not friendly.

Every staff person was friendly with helpful attitude. Room was clean, bed very comfy. Would go back if easier to get to.

For the price I paid, (about a hundred a night), this was really good value for money. Everything was only ten minutes away, max, and the rooms were very good. Staff was helpful and friendly. The restaurant is so-so, and there is a lack of snack options which was annoying. But overall i would recommend this hotel.

Clean, spacious room with friendly and helpful staff. Wifi didn't work, no breakfast, but easy access to St. Paul and freeway. Free parking.

perfect for excel center...shuttle, bar... easy access from highway and the airport

We had a great time. We went to a Wild game and we had loved that the hotel offered free transportation to and from. We went to Mall Of America and it was very easy to navigate to and from hotel. It was nice to have a pool, but the pool area was kinda cold. The rooms were very clean and the staff was very nice. The lady cleaning our room was very nice and helpful! Hotel bar got our drinks mixed up. Overall I would recommend this hotel to others.

The hotel is easy to get to and convenient to downtown to the Grand Ave. area. Though it exhibits some wear, the hotel and rooms were clean and the towels ample and fluffy. The staff was freindly and helpful.

We always enjoy our stays here when we bonspiel (curl) in St, Paul. Very handy to the club, nice rooms, decent bar and restaurant.
