Days Inn Hotel on University

Recent guest reviews

The room was comfortable. Hallways were clean and quite. Continental breakfast included had an attendant available in the dining area who kept the area clean and the food containers filled and hot.

The bed was listed as a queen but was a double. Hotel staff said all their beds were like that when I questioned if I was in the right room. Nice clean room. Furniture was a little dated. Backside rooms away from University Avenue look out on a parking lot and across to abandoned grain elevator facilities that are being torn down. That said, it is also right next door to Gopher Stadium and the Metro tram lines, which is a real plus! The faucets in the shower are really odd. Hard to set a consistent temp. It is so odd that they had a wonky and ineffective instruction set posted in the shower on how to work it. The area the hotel was located in felt safe. Lots of college age kids on the streets, not surprisingly. The breakfast bar was nice and better than expected for variety and quality of items. The heat/air unit was fairly quiet and ran continuously when on, which was nice to not have it cycling during the night. I like that alot! It kept a nice even temperature. In closing, I have stayed in nicer hotels for less money but if I had to be in this area again I would stay there. It was the least expensive place we could find for the weekend that we were there. It is conveniently located. The people were very nice and helpful.

We walked into a hotel that had great lobby and it went down hill from there. our room smelled like a skunk had stayed in it the pillows are throw pillows...never got a wink of sleep the top of the fridge was broken . Stayed here because it was close to the Airport. and it had Continental breakfast. The breakfast was cold, it had everything for biscuits and gravy, but no gravy was out. The microwave was put up on a counter where you could not reach it, so warming the bfast up was a chore. Not everyone is 5'10''.

Convenient location. A bit pricey unless you catch a deal. Next to university campus, which is a plus. Relatively close to downtown.

Convient location, clean(but small) room, free(but unimpressive breakfast). Overall, was convenient and affordable and served my needs. And the staff was excellent and friendly.

Not bad for a quick stop. Right around tons of things to do. Can easily grab the light rail and head downtown.

Convenient location near the University of Minnesota. The hotel is older, and shows it. When I arrived I was not able to check in because all the housekeeping staff had called in sick and the rest of the staff had to service the rooms. Mine was not ready at about 3:30 pm when I arrived, but was ready by about 5:00. One elevator was out of order, making it a long wait to get on the other one in the morning.

The hotel lobby was locked when I arrived so I did not feel welcome. The quality of the hotel is average at best and the price was high for this lack of quality,

Good location right next to Stadium streetcar station for downtown MSP access.

Front desk staff was very helpful! Found previous tenant of our rooms sock :-(

The building and rooms are old & creaky, needs serious renovation. Amenities & breakfast could be better. Good location & inexpensive. Staff is great.

Helpful staff. Good price. Close to U of M hospital.

Overall a nice, quiet stay. If you are a fan of mid-century architecture, this hotel is a bonus...hanging pendant lights, neon pool sign, sleek lobby furnishings...like a page out of Mad Men...only thing missing is the hi-fi set or maybe I missed it!

Average hotel. This location is more expensive because it is near the U of MN and the TCF Bank Stadium.

The staff was so nice and hepful! I would stay here again just for that!!! The location was perfect and they offer a shuttle service to where you want to go! Yes the hotel is a little outdated, but everything else was great!!!!

Walkable to the U of M. A lot of restaurants nearby. Room is decent, but a bit old. Still recommend for value especially in the Twin Cities.

I only stayed for a night, but the room was clean and the staff at the desk very helpful as I needed directions to get around and find my way to a meeting the following day.

Went or a campus visit and it was right by campus. Walking distance. room was clean and neat, staff very courteous. The breakfast was good. Not many things to choose from, but it is free. the lady running the breakfast room was really nice and friendly.

Very clean and comfortable. I'm booking my next stay here again. Good location.
