The staff was awesome. I imagine usually things are great but during our stay they had water problems. We had everything from cool showers to no water in our sink, toilet and shower. Only once did we receive written notice of when there would be a water outage with predicted return. Fairly constant digging and noisy cement drilling.

Center of town. Pleasant rooms and staff. Some fixtures and paint a bit old but overall a great deal.

Very friendly. Nice welcome snacks and juice. We only stayed one night after arriving on a flight getting in at 8pm - perfect "layover" before heading to our beach house the next morning.

We enjoyed our room, the patio by the pool, the breakfast (included), and the nice staff.

This hotel has a nice location if you are looking to explore downtown Merida. The staff at the front desk was very nice. The hotel is located super close to a well-known restaurant that serves local Yucatecan food -- the Chaya Maya. The breakfast that was included was fantastic. There is a nice little cafe located at the front of the hotel and for breakfast you can order from the menu. The pool was beautiful and clean. We didn't have any problems with noise. The room is pretty and quaint-looking with its tile floor. My only complaint was the shower in the bathroom. It only had a half a piece of glass (no sliding door or curtain) and the water splashed out easily. Everything else was great.

nice and beautiful rooms, nice pool excellent situation....good food

I had several family members stay here for a few nights in March. The grounds of the hotel are nice but showing their age. The pool looks like it has seen better days. The rooms were hit-and-miss, some had decent rooms while others had mold growing in the closet. Some had hot water, some not. The hotel is, at best, a three-star but even that might be a stretch. Because you can't guarantee the quality of the room, I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone who has exacting standards.

The hotel was spacious, with a comfortable king size bed. Price included an American breakfast of eggs and fruit. Pool on site provided a refreshing dip in the very hot days. Staff was very helpful with all our questions and bookings for tours. Location is across the street from a open air square (Zocalo) with 2 restaurants. Walking distance within a few blocks of everything. We spent 1 full week and I would definitely go there again.

My boyfriend and I only stayed for 1 night but we would totally have stayed for a lot more had we been able to. Our flight back home was the next day. The room was gorgeous and right across the street form Park Lucia, where on Sunday afternoons the locals dance to salsa music. It was fun watching them. There was tons of hot water for my long showers and the pool was really comfortable to lounge around. The restaurant served really good dessert too. The lobby is beautifully decorated with art. If you want to be in the middle of things but away from all the noise of the main square- this is perfect for you. They also have spa services too. A wonderfully relaxing treat!

The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The front desk staff would always assist us in booking last minute tours of different sites around Merida. Additionally, they would obtain and research for us the response to any questions that we had about traveling around and outside of the city. Casa Lucia is a great location between the center of downtown Merida and the famous Paseo Montejo. I would recommend this hotel to everyone. The hotel prices are very affordable.

My Wife and I spent 10 nights at Hotel Casa Lucia with all our needs well looked after by the very accommodating hotel staff -- Debbie, Mario and Enrique were always able to answer our questions and provide information on various things to do and see; Carlos in the restaurant was always attentive at breakfast and made wonderful Cafe Americano. Our room was very large and comfortable with a king bed and good shower. The courtyard and pool area are private and great for sitting to read a book or have a glass of wine in the evening. Location is an easy walk to the Grande Square and many very good resaurants. Watch out for hungry mosquitoes wherever you go in the Yucatan!!

Super room, lovely garden, extremely helpful staff. Set back from the road, so it was quiet. Close to zocalo. Good restaurant. Best coffee we had in Mexico.

[...] this is a gem. I decided to go for the lowest price $75 US per night then wondered what my room would be like. I was more than satisfied, large ceilings, terra cotta tiles, colonial artwork and excellent air conditioning. Sounds a simple pleasure but after a long day of sightseeing having a huge shower in the bathroom with tremendous water pressure, hot and cold was the tops.I read in advance that the breakfast was light continental so I was prepared. You can order additional breakfast items. In truth I was up and out sightseeing by 6:00 a.m. several days and did not have a chance for the hotel breakfast. The staff were extremely helpful and friendly and I most definitely stay at Hotel Casa Lucia again.

We were impressed the minute we arrived at this boutique hotel in Merida. The unassuming exterior leads you to a wonderful, well appointed lobby, restaurant entrance. Colonial style furnishings and artwork adorned the space and walls. The desk clerks welcomed us and lead us off to our three rooms in this former mansion in the center of historic Merida. My partner and I were in the larger suite and our brother in a smaller suite. Our friend was placed in the other mansion building. All three rooms were historically appointed with tile work in the floors, painting details along the tops of the walls and cabinetry. Huge comfortable king size beds were in each room. Marbled large bathrooms with tubs and showers. We even had a safe and refrigerator in each of our rooms. Breakfast was included in our room rate, so every morning of our ten day stay we were happily served strong coffee, breads, croissants, and juices. Each evening after driving out and exploring Mayan sites, we came back to this oasis in Merida for an early evening dip in the large pool or hung out in the cabana bar near the pool. The location of this hotel is two blocks from the historic Center of Merida. Wonderful local restaurants as well as some upscale restaurants, too. Shops surrounded us and the big Cathedral, University, Museums, and small romantic parks were all within walking distance.

Right in the heart of the famous historical centro; only 1 block from the oldest cathedral of the Americas! Extremely charming colonial hotel with a breathtaking inner courtyard to be enjoyed either day or night. Very good pasta, thin crusted pizza and kebbe at the Café Lucia although the service there did not come with a smile (both occasions). Will recommend it to friends.

When we went to check in around 1 pm they told us that our room had been given to a large tour group and that they would put us up in another hotel. Later they changed the story to say there had been a computer malfunction. At any rate, they put us up at a nice hotel on the other side of town, pretty much ruining our weekend since we had wanted stay in the center of town.
